Corey knew why he was suddenly being targeted by the Wills of the three bloodlines despite not attacking them or going so close to them.

It was not something that baffled him. In fact, he expected it to happen, but he didn't just know when.

Unlike before when the mere shockwaves of their attacks could kill him with extreme ease, now he could withstand their remnant attacks for an extended period of time.

And some of these remnant attacks were even attacks they launched recently, meaning those attacks still possessed a lot of power.

In the beginning, Corey's Will was like that of an ant to the three Wills.

They didn't even notice him, and it was like he was nonexistent in their senses.

But with time, his presence started growing.

From an ant, he became a scorpion. From a scorpion, he became a serpent. From a serpent, he became a lion. From a lion, he became a mountain, and from a mountain, it was becoming a star.

Corey's presence was becoming larger and larger, and the three Wills could no longer ignore him.

The purpose of the three Wills was to be sole bloodline in Corey's body. Neither of them wanted another bloodline of similar stature to be in the vessel that was hosting them.

Neither of them wanted to exist. Even the bloodline of the Paragon Ancestor and the bloodline of Prince Zakar'el instinctively refused to coexist.

This would not have happened if Corey chose not to absorb the Supreme Ancestor's blood essence, and if he allowed the Paragon Ancestor or Prince Zakar'el to assist him in having both bloodlines.

While Corey was adapting to the remnant attacks of the three bloodlines, he came to realize that if he had asked for the Paragon Ancestor and Prince Zakar'el, what they would have done would be different, but at the end of the day, it would be the same thing.

Prince Zakar'el would have most likely forced his bloodline not to fight with the Paragon Ancestor's bloodline for supremacy. Instead, he would have most likely allowed his bloodline to be the 'secondary' bloodline, and if the Paragon Ancestor chose to help in that moment, he could have also forced his bloodline not to attack the bloodline of the Prince.

Both of them would have found a way for their bloodlines to mix in Corey's body, essentially making Corey to become a new race with ease.

The only thing Corey would have needed to do would be to endure the pain of becoming a new race.

With the help of either the Paragon Ancestor or Prince Zakar'el, he would not have needed to go through all these stress.

However, if he had requested for their help, the unfathomable gain he got for his Will would not have been possible.

The difference between his Will before he began the race changing process and now, was the difference between an ant and a sun.

Although his Will had grown to a level where it could no longer be ignored, that was not the main reason the three Wills chose to attack him.

Like before, the main goal of the bloodlines was to be the sole bloodline in Corey's body. The desire to coexist was not in them at all.

But they knew that if they allowed Corey's Will to keep on growing, he would suppress all three Wills and force them coexist.

And that was not what they wanted. Even the Will of the Paragon Ancestor did not want that.

Why?

Because Corey told the Paragon Ancestor not to help him in any way or form.

Left to the Paragon Ancestor, the Will of his bloodline would have never attacked Corey.

But since Corey wanted no help from the Paragon Ancestor, the Paragon Ancestor removed the chains that bound his Will and let it roam free.

This led to the situation where Corey had to now suppress three powerful Wills instead of two with the help of the Will of the Paragon Ancestor.

(Back to the Present)

After Prince Zakar'el caused his Undying Will to forget about its ability to adapt, Corey's situation became a lot more worse.

He was in a state where he died and resurrected, and he could not even adapt to the pain.

No

He was adapting to the pain. He was getting used to it, but the pain would always increase everytime he got used to it.

It was like the flames constantly knew of ways to cause him more pain, and it nearly drove him mad.

He didn't know how long he spent screaming and writhing in pain, but it was long enough to the point that the three bloodlines left him and continued their battle.

Because Prince Zakar'el made his Undying Will to forget how to adapt, his body remained badly injured and he could not even move.

It looked like there was nothing he could do.

He was in a state of limbo where he could not even die if he wished to.

He was just in pain. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

But after some time, he stopped screaming because no more screams could escape his throat.

Aside from the battle in the sky, there was silence around Corey.

But then a whisper escaped Corey's lips.

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

"Endure... Resist... Survive."

Corey repeated these words so many words, and these words were the exact words he heard the first time he accepted the Undying Will as his Will.

These were the words he heard in the world of shadows and darkness, and a dark smoke began to rise from his body despite the presence of the flames.

At first, the dark smoke was like a flicker, but then it grew and grew and grew until it covered Corey's entire body and began to devour the flames.

Corey's body began to heal as the flames receded, and if Prince Zakar'el was here, he would be shocked.

Why?

Because Corey's Will had adapted to his power.

It adapted to recall how to adapt.
