Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 644 - 643: Apology
As Corey perused the knowledge he received from his Brand upgrading to Level 5, he got to realize how abnormal he would seem in the eyes of anybody that got to know his stats.
He was a Demi-Paragon with the blood of the Paragon Ancestor in him. He also had the talent of Omniscience which is an extremely powerful talent. His physical attributes which had broken the universal limit is also there, and last not but least, all his titles contributed to the reason why his Charisma and Wisdom was extremely high.
A single one of this was enough to create an extremely talented individual that would be extremely valued and protected by the greatest elite organizations in the Universe.
However, Corey had every single of these, and this made Corey to realize that he had to be careful with his secrets.
Corey scanned through his status screen, and after not seeing anything of interest, he closed it.
There were changes to his skills, and these changes were as a result of the time he spent in the Evolution Center after his advancement to Tier 3.
Corey closed his eyes, and for the first time since he sat with Divine and the rest, he made a sound.
He held his glabella, and then he sighed.
Divine, Rosa, Kiefer, Fatty Black Bonez, Dave, Triple X, and Selena glanced at Corey all at the same time the moment he sighed.

Corey could feel their gazes on him, and he did not know why, but he could not stop his lips from twitching the moment he felt their gazes on him.
His lips opened, but then he closed it in the next moment as he thought of what to say.
"If you have something to say, just say it. It's annoying the way you guys just keep on looking at me like I'm growing an extra head or something."
Although a part of Corey wanted to say something different like he was fine and that they should talk about their next plans, he felt like saying such a thing was wrong.
He could remember clearly how bothered and sad he was when he realized that what he felt after his Master's death was not pain, rage, or sadness.
Instead, his mind was thinking of so many other things and a part of him felt like the death of his Master was just the natural way of things.
He hated the way he felt because he felt like he was becoming a robot or an emotionless being.
Although his mind was telling him to ignore the way his teammates were feeling, he felt that doing this would not be the best thing for him.
Although talking about what their future plans should be is the wisest thing to do, Corey knew that it was not the best thing for him.
'If I do that and I become more of a robot without emotions, how would I behave around my sister?'
'What if... What if... What if I find out that my sister is dead? How am I going to react?'
'Am I going to react like how I did with Master if my sister dies in front of me?'
'If I actually don't feel anything at the death of my sister, what is the point of my desire for power? How would I face my parents?'
'What is the point of it all if I become an emotionless being that cares for no one?'
'Is to gain power?'
What Corey did not know was that his current thoughts are what would help him tremendously in the future as he progresses in the path of power.
As one progresses on the path of power, it's not uncommon for people to become emotionless and heartless, however, 99.99999999% of these people always lose themselves on their path to power and they also fail to reach the peak of power.
This is another reason why beings like the Paragon Ancestor and the Supreme Ancestor were at the peak of power. However, Corey did not know this for now.
Divine, Rosa, Kiefer, and the rest of the group looked at one another, and then everybody looked at Divine.
Divine's lips twitched when he saw that everybody wanted him to speak first. He sighed out loud, and then he spoke,
"I want to apologize for not being able to protect Old Man Poison. I should have tried harder to stop him from going to the arena."
"I should have listened to my instincts and interfered in the match, and I'm sorry I didn't interfere on time."
Divine sighed, and then Rosa spoke.
"We're really sorry. We were too slow in realizing the danger your Master was in, and we couldn't react on time."
"If not for Kiefer who suspected that something was wrong, we wouldn't have even known that the bastard had been hiding under the sand, and that your Master had been fighting a clone all along."
Corey looked at Kiefer after hearing Rosa's words. The moment Corey's eyes landed on Kiefer, his expression changed.
'What the?'
Kiefer's eyes were down, and his hands fidgeted as he struggled to speak.
"Uhmm... I want to also apologize, Master."
"I'm the reason Old Man Poison died. If you didn't save me from my father, Old Man Poison would not have been targeted by-"
"It's okay."
"Huh?" Kiefer looked up with a stunned expression when he felt a hand rubbing his head. When he saw Corey giving him a genuine smile, he became stunned.
"It's not your fault. I'm responsible for my actions, not you..." Corey paused, and then he looked at Divine, Rosa, and the rest.
"... And not any other person is responsible for my actions."
Corey turned and looked back at Kiefer.
"Also, the ones responsible for the death of my Master is the Legion of Nightmares... No matter what, the Legion of Nightmares is done for."
Kiefer nodded his head at Corey with a smile, and Corey smiled back at him. However, in his eyes was a tinge of curiosity as he wondered how Kiefer's karmic luck had increased.
