Chapter 446: Chapter 446: Calamity Raids (Part 4)

"<Way too slow. Unstoppable Force>," Chanted Superbia, a powerful, piercing burst erupting out as she thrust her spear forward, tearing several Hobgoblins apart, that were in line with the trajectory of her attack.

Two just barely managed to survive as several deafening roars of pain rang out, before she sprinted towards one of the survivors, the Monster stumbling back and snarling viciously, raising its fists up as she began to close in.

It started to swing its fists down towards her, but it was way too slow. She plunged her spear straight through the middle of its head, killing it before it could react.

As the other one sprang up to her right with a roar, she swiftly yanked her spear back out and spun across. She whipped the spear across with a sharp flick of her wrist, slicing its throat open.

She stepped back as the Monster collapsed onto its knees with a gurgling gasp, blood streaming down its chest as it shakily clawed at its throat, before falling over and hitting the ground with a thud as it choked on its own blood.

"Alright, that’s floor eighty, cleared. You wanna take the next floor?" I asked Petrus, as I glanced back at him.

"Huh? Uh, yeah, sure. I have to say, this is my first time in a Calamity Level Dungeon, and I definitely wasn’t expecting it to be this easy. I mean, I know what we’ve experienced in here so far has been far from the norm, but still," He replied in bemusement.

"Yeah, hopefully it’s just the same case as the other Dungeons that have appeared over the last few months, where every floor except for the Boss Room is easier than it used to be. It’s either that, or things are going to get real rough over the last few floors of this Dungeon," I mused warily.

"<This certainly hasn’t felt like we’re in a Calamity Level Dungeon, that’s for sure. This has basically been a Mid Level Dungeon but longer so far>," Chimed in Superbia, as she walked over.

"<I don’t see the issue. I will not have any complaints if it remains this easy throughout>," Acedia sighed in response.

"<Personally, I wouldn’t mind just a bit more of a challenge, this is just way too easy>," Spoke up Invidia thoughtfully.

"<Hate to say it, but I agree with the incel>," Luxuria nodded reluctantly.

"On the bright side, we’re more than halfway through the Dungeon. Let’s keep pushing through," I remarked, after glancing at Petrus and the Detector.

They both look like they’re good to keep going, so it should be fine to clear at least a couple more floors before we take a break to rest up.

We then continued on, heading up to the next floor and heading forward. Petrus stepped up to the front, a hint of eagerness in his eyes.

He’s seemed pretty bored throughout this raid, except for the floors in which he takes on the Monsters. It’s been so easy that we’ve persisted with having just one of us fight on each floor. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Given that he’s the most powerful Hunter in Sanctuary Epsilon, he’s probably used to playing much a more active role during raids, I doubt he has any recent experience with hanging back instead.

"Eighteen Mid Level Monsters up ahead!" The Detector called out as we made our way through the floor.

We were running into groups of no higher than fifteen over the last ten floors, looks like that number’s going to be slightly higher for the next few floors.

Petrus stepped forward as the Monsters came into sight, a group of Hobgoblins. He took a deep breath and let out a slow exhale as several of them came charging towards him, before chanting as he raised his hands in front of himself...

"[Shadow Spear Barrage]."

Several dark, shadowy projectiles burst forth and shot towards the Monsters, hitting the ground in front of them, before startled roars of pain rang out as a number of holes erupted through their bodies, blood gushing out.

His Shadow Magic, it generates projectiles that inflict no direct physical damage if they hit a target’s body. Instead, they’re aimed at the target’s shadow, and inflict damage on the target’s body, corresponding to the spot on their shadows that the projectiles hit.

Petrus shot forward as four of the Hobgoblins dropped down, leaping towards one, before chanting as he landed on its shadow...

"[Shadow Bind]."

The Monster froze in place as it began to raise its fists, trembling slightly as it tried to break free, before Petrus drove a rapid uppercut towards its chin, a sharp crunch ringing out as the Monster’s head snapped straight up, its neck breaking upon impact.

"[Shadow Slash]," He chanted as the Monster collapsed onto the ground, whipping his arm across as three more came charging at him.

He fired out a slashing wave of shadowy energy, hitting the Monsters’ shadows, slicing through two of their necks and the top of the third one’s head.

It didn’t take him long to cut down the rest of the Hobgoblins, their corpses scattered around him as he wrapped it up.

His Magic is pretty fascinating, and quite powerful too. According to him, his Spells generate enough force to one-shot most Monsters at High Level or below, and it’s plenty effective against Critical Levels too.

It must be tricky to aim at a target’s shadows everytime. Since the floors in Dungeons are lit up from multiple directions by the glowing Mana Crystals, there are multiple shadows cast around every object or being. So, as long as his attacks hit the ground in the close vicinity of a target, he’s got a good chance of inflicting damage.

Except, he’s been landing hits on their vital spots with almost every attack, he knows exactly where to aim at the shadows to inflict damage on a specific spot.

"Nicely done, that’s another floor cleared without a problem. Let’s keep moving," I remarked as I approached him, the Apostles and Detector trailing behind me.
