Sinner System-Chapter 571: Sanctuaries Breached (Part 4)

The King Ant flew up, its gaze locked onto me as it ascended into the air, before coming to a halt and shifting its weight down as it leaned forward.

It’s fast, impossibly so, I can barely even follow its movements, let alone react to them...that said, its attacks are straightforward and one-dimensional.

I need to get the timing right, I have to be absolutely spot on-...no time to think, here it comes!

As the King Ant swooped down towards me with immense speed, I tightened my grip on my spear, gritting my teeth as I drew back my arm, waiting for the perfect timing...

"[Super Accel Ice Strike], [Quadruple Impact]!" I roared, exerting my strength as I thrust my spear up towards the King Ant with all the force I could generate, as the Monster simultaneously drove its claws down towards me.

As the blade of my spear collided against its claws, a sharp clang rang out, cracks spreading out across the King Ant’s claws...right as my spear’s blade snapped off, along with one of the Monster’s claws.

As the claw and broken blade hit the ground with a clatter, I began to drive the handle of my spear towards the Monster’s Core, before it suddenly spun around and swung its arm across, striking my handle and knocking it out of my grasp.

The handle flew away and hit the ground, skidding across before the King Ant suddenly whipped its claws across, slicing through the middle of my right forearm and severing it before I could react.

I roared in pain as blood sprayed out of the stump left around my forearm, before I quickly tightened my abdomen as the Monster drove its right foot out towards me.

Its foot slammed against the middle of my torso, launching me back through the air as I coughed out blood with an agonized wheeze, the lower half of my ribcage caved in, before I let out a sharp gasp of pain as my back slammed against a building behind me.

I collapsed onto my knees as I shuddered in agony, my vision blurring as blood poured out of my mouth, splattering on the ground between my knees.

I shakily lifted my gaze, right as the King Ant picked up the broken blade of my spear, turning its attention towards me as it drew back its arm and flung the blade towards me with a rapid spin.

I began to try and shuffled across, before seizing up sharply as the blade plunged into the right side of my chest, puncturing my lung and getting lodged in.

As I shakily glanced down at the blade, the King Ant flew up into the air, its gaze locked onto me...looks like its getting ready to finish me off.

I shuddered as waves of pain washed over my body, feeling both burning hot and ice cold at the same time, the corners of my vision starting to darken and blur.

N-No, not...not yet, damn it...!

I gritted my teeth, biting my lower lip as I tried to regain my bearings, before shakily reaching for the blade lodged in my chest, gasping slightly as I took hold of it, bracing myself before yanking it out with a jerk of my arm.

Blood spurted out and streamed down my torso as I dislodged the blade, before turning my gaze upto the King Ant as it stopped ascending, getting ready to swoop and kill me.

I hissed sharply as I jammed the broken end of the blade into the stump of my right arm, before shakily raising my arm and pointing it at the King Ant.

A brief, tense pause ensued as the Monster and I locked onto each other, a drop of blood dripping off my chin and plummeting towards the crimson puddle below me.

As the drop hit the puddle, the King Ant swooped down with immense speed, its claws poised to strike my head and split my skull open.

"Now...," I uttered quietly, before chanting as it closed in on me, "[Super Accel Ultra Ice Javelin], [QUADRUPLE IMPACT]!!!"

The broken blade got launched out of the stump of my arm as an intense, freezing frost swirled around it, the blood shooting out like a bullet, hitting the middle of the King Ant’s torso and bursting through its exoskeleton, shattering its Core and erupting out its back before it could react.

A deafening, earsplitting screech of agony rang out as the Monster hit the ground and crashed onto me, writhing and thrashing around violently, inflicting several deep cuts and gazhes across my skin.

Suddenly, it seized up and shuddered, before abruptly going limp and collapsing against me.

I shakily reached out and pushed it off me with my left hand, leaning against the building behind me.

I...I’m alive.

I’m hurt pretty bad, but my vital organs somehow aren’t damaged. My natural healing should be enough to just about keep me alive, and if I can get to a Healer in time, then maybe-...

"Well, now, one of you humans actually managed to kill one of those things? Hm, it doesn’t appear to be fully mature, but still...," A voice suddenly rang out...before an Archdemon landed before me.

"G-Give me a break, goddammit...," I muttered weakly.

"I must admit, this has been quite surprising...I’ve already noticed that some of the other Archdemons’ presences have vanished. You humans are putting up more of a fight than expected.

Well, I suppose it doesn’t really matter. Your resistance will ultimately be futile, we will be the ones who emerge victorious in the end.

Hm, you seem to be in a fair bit of pain, human. I shall put you out of your misery, consider it a mercy," Declared the Archdemon, taking aim as he charged up Negative Energy.

Shit...I have no strength left. This is it. This is where it ends for me.

I lifted my head, meeting the Archdemon’s gaze defiantly, an amused smirk spreading out across the Monster’s lips...before he fired out a rapid, piercing beam towards the middle of my forehead.

A sharp, stabbing pain erupted across my forehead, drilling into my head, before...everything...went...dark...
