Slime Evolution-Chapter 81 - Help
"Are you sure we’re going in the right direction?" Lohan asked, a little confused.
After the profit they received from killing the Shadow Serpents, Lisa and he decided to continue this type of hunt.
Instead of just killing monsters randomly to gain experience, it would be better to focus on monsters with valuable parts that could be sold for money.
With the agreement they had made with Intervar, the elf gave them a list of monsters that met this criterion.
Sure, most of the monsters on the list were far above their current level. After all, if the monster’s level was low and it was easy to hunt, the material that monster would yield would not be in short supply on the market.
So they had to choose between two paths: hunting strong monsters or hunting difficult monsters.
Although they trusted their own strength, they knew that they were only able to deal with that great Shadow Serpent because it was in the middle of the digestion process.
If they had to deal with the serpent at its peak, with maximum speed and agility, the attacks and strategies they had formed would be useless.
And from what they analyzed, the serpent was not even a Level 11 monster that had undergone qualitative evolution... probably still between levels 7 and 10.
With this parameter, they ruled out the possibility of hunting powerful monsters and focused on hunting more complicated monsters.
And among these more complicated monsters, they were now in search of the Swamp Slug.
This Slug was even weaker than the Shadow Snakes, but on the other hand, because they lived in the swamp, hidden among the mud, moss, and dense water, they were very difficult monsters to find and possessed a very lethal poison.
’Fortunately, with the amount of Evolutions and tracking Skills I’ve received, finding these slugs may be easier than for normal hunters,’ Lohan thought with satisfaction.
When she heard Lohan’s question about the direction they were heading, Lisa just snorted and didn’t answer, continuing to run in the direction she had determined.
Intervar had told them the approximate location of the swamp where these slimes lived, and unfortunately for them, it was a place they had never been before, requiring Lisa to run for over an hour to get there.
Having to run all that time while carrying a Slime on her back did not help her mood.
Suddenly, a scream alerted them both.
"HELP!!"
Hearing that, the fox stopped running and looked around alertly.
Lohan also looked around, trying to identify the direction from which the scream came.
Looking at Lisa, he asked. "Should we help?"
After all, Lisa was still the one who had the most information about Elysium.
Lisa thought for a moment and replied. "We can observe first, with our stealth, understanding the situation will not be a problem."
Lohan gave a thumbs up with a small hand at his side and began to change color, camouflaging himself to the environment.
Lisa also activated her transparency and ran toward the scream, but with much more caution than before.
The closer they got, the more noises they could hear.
"ARRRGGHH, HELP!!!" Another scream rang out.
"RUN, RUN FOR YOUR..." Another scream came from someone else, only to be cut off midway.
Getting close enough, the pair finally saw what was happening.
In front of them, a small village of frogs was being attacked by a group of enraged Kobolds.
"GWAGHWBAJBDAAAA!!" The Kobolds screamed as they slaughtered the little frogs.
The situation was very strange. From what they had observed of the Kobolds over the past few days, these monsters normally only attacked enemies they wanted to devour.
Unlike goblins, who attacked out of greed for shiny and precious things, or for women to mate and reproduce, kobolds were much simpler, attacking only to eat.
But in this battle that was taking place, the kobolds were just slaughtering these frogs, without even showing signs that they wanted to eat these creatures.
And to their surprise, the cries for help were actually coming from these frogs!
"Are these frogs sentient?" Lohan asked in surprise through the mental link with Lisa. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Lisa also saw this with her eyes shining.
Thinking about the guild they wanted to form, according to information they received from their family, guild members would not necessarily need Players like them... as long as they could convince beings from Elysium willingly, those beings could also be part of the Guild and receive benefits like the Players did!
Seeing the situation these frogs were going through, Lisa saw a great opportunity.
"Halon, I think I have an idea for our Guild..." She explained.
Hearing this, Lohan also became excited.
Even if they didn’t have a Guild yet, if they formed a good relationship with these frogs, wouldn’t they already be halfway there?
Analyzing the Kobolds, Lohan became even more confident, realizing that they were only level 1 to level 3 monsters.
With Lohan at Level 4 and Lisa at Level 5, their strength was at a point where dealing with a group of Kobolds like this would be much easier!
And surprisingly, despite the high level of stealth of the two, a frog from the group managed to see them!
-xXx-
The frog that was shouting seemed to be the elder of that small community.
He had faded moss-green skin, covered with deep wrinkles and warts that betrayed decades of survival in that swamp.
He could barely stand, trembling on his thin legs as he held a twisted and worn wooden staff with his membranous, trembling hands.
The creature struggled desperately, striking the air with his staff, trying to keep at bay a Kobold that growled and bared yellow fangs, desperately trying to kill that little creature.
In a moment of pure instinct, the elder turned his bulbous head, and his large, yellow eyes crossed exactly the point where the light seemed to distort over Lisa’s fur.
Even under the camouflage, something in that frog’s perception, perhaps the desperation of someone who has nothing left to lose, allowed him to notice the presence of the pair.
"WE ARE SAVED, PLEASE SAVE US! WE WILL DO ANYTHING TO THANK YOU!"
