Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 212—Forsaken Remorae
Lily glanced at the dull Elder Slime bitterly.
"Let's go," Mama Slime said, breaking the silence.
Joining with the rest of the gang, they stepped out of the Demon King's palace.
'The barriers are gone,' Averon mused, looking up at the sky. 'Time is really powerful.'
The majestic barriers he remembered from Remora's time—more than ten of them—were all gone.
Averon noticed a black sun shining brightly above. Black rays spread across the sky as it slowly set.
'It's so creepy,' he shuddered, recalling the female-faced spider.
'I miss the warm sun I experienced as a goblin, and in the past, in Remora's time,' he sighed.
Elder Slime raised his eyes and said, glaring back at the palace, "Wait for a few minutes. I'll be back."
"What is it?" Lily asked, pivoting.
"I'll bring the maps," Elder Slime replied nonchalantly, bouncing back into the palace.
Averon turned toward the majestic gates, which were rusty and covered by dark green, thick vines.
Huge plants grew outside and covered the entire gates, though not a single one managed to enter the gate.
"It seems the palace had some energy, stopping plants from growing in," Averon muttered.
"Indeed," Lily's eyes were dim as she glanced at the palace. "But within a few years… it will run out of energy."
Wob! Wob! The slimes rushed out and slammed the gate open, letting the view outside finally enter everyone's vision.
"The majestic Remorae City… now fallen to this stage," Lily uttered, as nostalgia flashed in her eyes.
Once, millions of demons had lived here—scholars, warriors, children. Now, only silence remained.
Averon felt a strange heaviness in his core.
The greatest city of demons… reduced to ruins, swallowed by nature.
The roads behind the gate were covered with grass and plants growing out, making it a forest.
'Give nature a few centuries, and it wipes everything away,' he clicked his tongue. 'But this palace stood strong for so many years.'
Wob! The slimes went out, causing Mama Slime to rush after them.
"Let's go take a look," Averon said, nestling in Lily's arms.
Lily, Cow#1, Bull#1, Wolf#1, and the rest of the gang walked out.
"It's the academy," Averon muttered, glaring at the high-rise building outside the central zone, covered by plants and vines.
He took a good look around his surroundings—nothing was left behind.
He glanced at the roads. The magic arrays, which had glowed brightly in the past, were now faded, and grass and plants grew over them.
Lily slowly walked along the roads, letting Averon get a good look at the city.
The towering buildings still stood, but had broken in the middle.
Lily reached the outer section.
Averon glanced at the marble houses, which were shattered.
Some buildings were broken apart in the middle, and a few were totally destroyed.
And like the entire city, green trees grew over the buildings.
"Looks like a battle happened here," Lily narrowed her eyes at the marks between the trees and under the debris of broken buildings.
"Of course they would fight," Averon said, clenching his fists. "After all, it was the most powerful city of demons—and anything found here… would be very costly."
"The strongest place of the demons has fallen," Lily felt her heart rise. She took a deep breath.
Just when Averon was sighing at the sight of the demon city, a flood of powerful energy spread throughout the area.
"This—" he exclaimed.
"Elder Slime's power has risen exponentially," Lily uttered, knitting her brows.
She tapped her feet on the ground and took off, holding the young slime in her arms.
Boom!
In a flash, she was in front of the Demon King's palace.
Wob! The old slime bounced out like usual. However, his body was wrapped with the black demonic force.
"How can he wield demonic force?" Averon's mouth hung open.
Only a genius at Tier 2 could wield demonic force, and ordinary people needed to wait to reach Tier 3—this was the reason behind the young slime's shock.
Taking a deep breath, Elder Slime pulled the demonic force back into his body as peace returned to the surroundings.
"Appraisal," Averon used his skill.

'Everything's the same,' he wobbled his body.
"What happened, Elder?" he asked, raising his eyes.
"Nothing. I just reclaimed the power I stored," the old slime replied, as everyone focused on him.
Lily's eyes narrowed. "You stored demonic force inside the Demon King's palace?"
Nobara replied bluntly, "Remora planned that I should prepare for the future."
'So, he is a reincarntor...' Lily thought, 'No wonder he knew me... He should be from my time.'
Even Mama Slime rushed to check up on him.
The old slime's grin widened. "You can call me Elder Nobara from now on."
"You named yourself?" Averon exclaimed, his eyes widening.
"Yes, you can, as long as your mana is powerful enough," Lily added softly, patting the young slime.
Averon leapt out of Lily's hands, glaring at Old Slime with a frown.
'Is he really a powerful being?' He wondered.
Young Slime had never felt Old Slime was powerful—Instead, only a knowledgeable reincarnator.
Averon glared piercingly at Elder Nobara, who turned away his eyes, coughing. "Cough!"
Elder Nobara pulled out a white map from thin air.
'The storage skill,' the young slime raised his eyes.
He had wanted to learn the skill when he was a goblin, but the Goblin Lord had fallen before he could teach him.
And before that, as a slime, he had been too busy with other problems.
"Elder, you should teach me that skill," he said, raising his small hands.
Nobara nodded. "Sure."
"You can ask me if you want," Lily said, picking him up again.
Mama Slime narrowed her eyes at Lily.
Everyone glanced down as Elder Nobara spread the map wide. "This is where we are—Remorae City," he said, pointing to a castle on the map. "Once the heart of demon civilization… now just a forsaken city."
While they were planning to move, Hero King Samuel had his own plans.
---
In Samuel's dwelling—
"What kind of work is it?" the panther asked, her voice high.
Samuel slumped back on his chair. "You demons have a new heir… Soon, a new Demon King will rise."
"What?" The three demons exclaimed. "You want to kill him with our help?"
They finally realized why they were called.
"No, no, no," Samuel shook his head. "He'll be a good pawn. Why kill him?"
"A pawn?" The crocodile tilted his head, frowning.
"Yes, indeed," Samuel nodded with a sly smile. "Demons are free and hidden. But now they'll come under his command."
"So?" Panther raised her eyes.
"With proper planning," Samuel's lips curved up, "We can..."
