Chapter 26: Jeju Island (3) Showing off

"What the hell is happening? Could this be part of the test? ...No, this is real. It’s an actual outbreak." Zion’s thoughts raced as he tried to make sense of the chaos.

A commanding voice cut through the panic.

"EVERY STUDENT, PROTECT THE CITIZENS! CALL THE PRO HEROES FROM BASE!" Callix’s voice boomed across the city.

Immediately, students rushed into action—some guiding civilians to safety, others sprinting toward the nearest communication devices to alert the pro heroes.

Suddenly, a figure dropped from the sky like a meteor, colliding with a monstrous exoskeleton beast. A deafening crack echoed as its skull shattered upon impact. The figure’s bright orange hair gleamed under the sun—Leon.

"COME AT ME, YOU LITTLE FUCKERS!" Leon roared, veins bulging on his forehead as rage fueled his strength. His hands began to glow, flickering with small detonations. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Explosives?" A smirk tugged at his lips.

Without hesitation, he launched forward, blasting through the creatures with sheer force. One of the monsters—a grotesque goblin-like being with green skin—lunged at him. Leon caught its face in his palm.

"Boom."

A violent explosion erupted, disintegrating the creature’s head. Blood and viscera sprayed through the air as Leon continued his rampage, but no matter how many he destroyed, more poured out of the swirling portal in the sky. Their mangled bodies littered the streets, forming a grotesque carpet of twitching limbs and oozing remains.

Then, a different kind of presence filled the battlefield.

A girl floated above the ground, her eyes glowing with an eerie radiance. Her outstretched hands pulsed with an unknown power.

"Awaken." Celestia’s voice was cold, commanding.

The dragon-shaped rock from earlier stirred. Its stony exterior cracked, shedding layers like dead skin. What lay beneath was not stone, but flesh. It was reborn.

The beast roared as its body regenerated.

Armor-like exoskeleton plates covered its massive form. Its skin was an unnatural shade of green, its left arm grotesquely muscular, while the right was a monstrous clawed appendage lined with jagged spikes.

Celestia watched impassively as her creation took shape, its presence exuding something... deeper. A lingering wrath. A history of suffering.

"Neuroform... My creation, born from forgotten will—use your emotions."

The dragon’s eyes blazed with hatred. Its roar split the sky.

"ROAAAAAAAAR!!"

Celestia’s gaze hardened.

"I see... So you were carved by a slave and hatred." Her voice was cold, almost pitying.

The creature’s fury burned brighter, as if centuries of torment had finally been given a voice.

A boy descended from the sky, his hair shimmering with seven distinct colors—a living rainbow. It wasn’t just striking—it was majestic, almost otherworldly. His face was sharp and noble, like a prince from a medieval era, yet his movements were graceful and precise.

With an effortless kick, he shattered a monster’s skull, its body exploding into fragments. Yet, every movement held elegance, as if each strike were a choreographed dance.

He landed smoothly, running a hand through his hair.

"We’re here."

The words were calm, confident. They carried weight.

It was Elay, the leader of the Blue Team.

Then, a booming voice shook the battlefield.

"WE’RE HERE! THE TRUE WARRIORS!"

A massive figure dropped down, the impact cracking the pavement. His muscles tensed as he raised his fists, his presence alone demanding attention.

Victor.

"Tsk. He’s here." Callix frowned.

Victor spread his arms wide, grinning.

"WE ARE THE GREEN TEAM!" he declared.

Elay exhaled, unimpressed. "Yeah, yeah, we know."

His tone was dry, but his smirk was sharp.

"Anyway, did someone call the pro heroes yet?"

Callix crossed his arms. "I’ve already commanded the other teams to do so."

Elay raised a brow. "Wow. Commanding. Acting like you’re in charge, huh?"

Callix clicked his tongue. "Tsk."

Zion watched the exchange, confused. "What’s with them?"

Elay ignored it, turning to the battlefield.

"Have you figured out what rank this portal is? And what kind?"

Callix scoffed. "How are we supposed to check? We can’t scan it."

Leon, mid-battle, grinned savagely, his hands still smoking from explosions.

"Hey, little shits—less talking, more fighting! These bastards aren’t stopping!"

Zion narrowed his eyes, analyzing the situation. "Rank... Most likely D-rank. As for the type... There are three possible kinds: a Monster Portal, an Endless Void, or a Dimensional Rift that transports certain people to another world."

His gaze hardened.

"This one looks like a Monster Portal."

Victor, standing amidst a pile of corpses, grinned wildly.

"Hey, look! I made my own weapon!"

In his hands was a massive war axe, its blade crafted from the exoskeletal remains of fallen monsters.

Callix glanced at it, unimpressed. "How... creative."

Victor swung the axe, effortlessly cleaving through another beast. His Green Team cheered him on, hyping up his strength.

Meanwhile, Elay leaned against a storefront, barely paying attention. His eyes flickered to a shelf.

A canister of powdered milk.

His expression softened for a moment.

"Milk... I should get this. She hasn’t had any for a while."

Without hesitation, he grabbed it and tucked it under his shirt.

As Leon continued fighting, a monster lurking in the shadows lunged at him, sinking its jagged teeth into his shoulder.

"Ugh!! Fuck!" He snarled in pain. Without hesitation, he grabbed the creature’s face, his palm igniting with an explosion—BOOM! Its head burst apart in a spray of blackened flesh.

But the pain only fueled his rage. His veins throbbed, his body trembling with fury. He clenched his fists, ready to unleash another blast—but nothing happened.

His explosive ability was gone.

"Shit! My power...?!" Panic flashed through his mind, but then—his entire body erupted into flames.

"FUCK!! IT’S FIRE NOW?!" he roared, flames billowing from his mouth like a dragon’s breath. The monsters recoiled as a blazing inferno engulfed them.

Leonhardt Eisen - Bloodline Ability: Berserker

A Special-type power. Each time his rage intensifies, he gains a random ability. However, he can only wield one at a time—and to acquire a new one, he must either calm himself or become even angrier.

Leon grinned, his burning teeth gleaming in the fiery light. "Fine... I’ll just keep getting angrier!" He dashed forward, his body a living torch, incinerating everything in his path.

Yin, watching from a distance, clenched his fists. "I must fight... to improve." His mentor’s words echoed in his mind. "You are the pride of the Fiery Fierce Arts."

His hands ignited, flames licking his knuckles. "Then I must be worthy of it!" With a battle cry, he leaped into the fray, his blazing fists smashing through monster after monster. He moved fearlessly, every strike landing with precise, devastating force.

Meanwhile, Zion narrowed his eyes at the portal. Something felt off.

"If I can see its aura... maybe I can determine what kind it is."

Taking a deep breath, he activated his ability. "Gaze."

As his vision adjusted, his eyes widened in horror.

What he saw was far worse than anything they had imagined...
