Chapter 27: Jeju Island (4) Arrival of the 2 Kings of Korea.

A swirl of multiple auras pulsed within the portal, flickering like a chaotic storm.

"Multiple auras... It could just be from the monsters coming out," Zion thought, narrowing his eyes. But then—something caught his attention.

A different aura.

It wasn’t singular like the others. This one had layers of color, shifting and blending, as if containing multiple entities inside one being.

"What the hell is that...?" Zion’s mind raced. "A normal being only has one aura, but this... it’s as if something inside isn’t fully formed. Could this be... a dungeon?"

The Hidden Survivor

Meanwhile, the battle raged on. Students clashed against wave after wave of monsters, holding the front line while waiting for the Pro Heroes to arrive.

Not far from the chaos, a lone figure stood in the shadows. His face was hidden beneath a hood, his posture tense. His gaze flickered toward the students as they fought.

"They’re better at fighting than I expected..." he mused to himself.

Then—

"Look! There’s still a survivor over there! Let’s help them!"

A student’s voice rang out, drawing attention toward him.

Shit.

The hooded figure stiffened. He had been hiding too suspiciously, and now a group of students was rushing over, gathering up the last of the civilians for evacuation.

"Tch. I can’t leave now... not yet." he thought.

Base

Back at the Heroes’ Base, a stampede of students stormed inside, their voices panicked and breathless.

One student at the front—a young man with slicked-back black hair and black goggles covering his eyes—pushed through.

"SIR!" he called out.

Outside, Monkey Mic, a Pro Hero, stood by the gates, twirling his bo staff absentmindedly.

"Yo, what’s up?" he asked lazily.

"A PORTAL OUTBREAK! It appeared in Jeju City! The other students are fighting it off, but we need backup!"

Monkey Mic’s eyes widened.

"WHAT?!"

He immediately clenched his bo staff, his easygoing demeanor vanishing.

"SHIT! Call in the other Pro Heroes inside—I’m heading there now!" he barked.

"Yes, sir!" the student, Calvin, replied before rushing off.

As Monkey Mic leaped into action, something about Calvin caught his attention.

"He shouted, but his tone was steady... he’s keeping his cool even in panic."

But there was no time to dwell on it. He gritted his teeth.

"I need to get there. Fast."

Without hesitation, he kicked off the ground, dashing toward the city.

As Monkey Mic rushed toward Jeju City, he spotted groups of students returning to the base, carrying or escorting citizens to safety.

"They’re doing well," he thought, watching their coordinated efforts.

But then—

Among the evacuees, a lone figure stood out. A man concealed beneath layers of fabric, his face hidden.

Then, for the briefest moment, their eyes met.

Even with his face obscured, Monkey Mic recognized him instantly.

No way...

In a flash, he vanished into the crowd, blending with the flow of students.

And in the next second—

His hand shot out, gripping the mysterious survivor’s wrist.

The student leading the evacuees glanced around, confused.

"Huh? I swear he was right behind me..." he muttered, before shaking it off and continuing to run.

Meanwhile, in an alley just outside the chaos, Monkey Mic stood face-to-face with the mysterious man.

The fabric covering his face had fallen, revealing a man in his mid-30s, his messy Korean perm swaying in the evening breeze.

A smirk tugged at his lips.

"Didn’t know you were in Korea, Mike."

Monkey Mic’s expression remained unreadable.

"Yeah, and I didn’t expect to see you here in Jeju Island... Sae-yeon Jin."

Jin let out a short chuckle.

"How’s life in China?" Jin asked casually.

"Same as always."

Jin’s gaze sharpened.

"I overheard some students talking earlier... something about explosive flags around the island?"

The lightheartedness in his tone was gone—his face turned serious.

Monkey Mic kept running, but his tone remained relaxed.

"Oh yeah, that’s true."

Jin’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

"Really?" he asked, his voice icy cold.

Monkey Mic waved a hand dismissively.

"Chill, man. Every ’citizen’ in Jeju right now? They’re all Pro Heroes in disguise. The real civilians were moved to the southern part of the island. And there are no actual explosive flags—it’s just a bluff."

Jin studied him for a moment before exhaling sharply.

"I see... Well, I was planning to step in when the portal appeared, but I didn’t expect German students to be this good. Makes me wonder how Seoul Academy stacks up against them."

A small smirk returned to Monkey Mic’s face.

"I’m more curious about what’ll happen when they meet the Beijing Academy."

Jin crossed his arms, amused.

"Yeah... I guess we’ll see in the future."

Then, with a knowing grin—

"Anyway, enough chit-chat."

Before reaching the battlefield, Mike’s thoughts drifted.

"He never changes... even before becoming the Hero of Trades."

A smirk played on his lips.

Then—they arrived. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

And standing there, in the heart of the battlefield, was a colossal figure.

A towering, muscular man, his body draped in patchworks of beast pelts—a trophy of his countless hunts. His helmet, a lion’s head, sat atop his broad shoulders like a crown, its lifeless eyes forever frozen in a silent roar.

His battle-worn body was etched with scars—marks of past wars, each one a story of blood and survival.

In his grasp, two monstrous creatures kicked and thrashed—only for their struggles to be silenced as he crushed their necks with his bare hands.

CRACK.

The students froze in shock.

Their eyes widened in disbelief.

"T-The Monarch of Primal...!" Zion’s breath caught in his throat.

"Did he know about the portal outbreak? Or... did he just sense it!?"

Callix swallowed hard.

"It’s really him... the Monarch of Primal!"

He clenched his fists, his heartbeat pounding in his ears.

"So the rumors are true..."

"His sense of smell surpasses even bears and other beasts. He excels in everything—pure instinct, raw strength, unmatched skill."

Then—

The Monarch of Primal slowly turned.

His gaze locked onto The Hero of Trades.

Silence fell.

A chill ran down the students’ spines.

And then, in a deep, cold, menacing voice—

"You."
