Soul system:Return Of The SSS-Ranked Troublemaker-Chapter 34: Jeju Island (10) Groups.
The blaring announcement echoed across the base, breaking the peaceful morning.
As students staggered awake, groggy murmurs filled the dorms.
"Ugh... It’s so early..."
"On God, we still have a whole week left!"
"Maybe it’s something important?"
"Let’s just get outside and get this over with."
Despite their complaints, the students gathered outside, forming a large crowd in outside.
At the front stood Monkey Mic, Mighty Knight, and Jin.
But the moment the students laid eyes on the towering figure beside them, a chill ran through the crowd.
The Monarch of Primal.
The students froze, their eyes widening in alarm.
The Monarch’s cold, piercing gaze swept across them.
"What are you looking at?" he said, his voice like a low growl.
Immediately, the students snapped their heads away, avoiding eye contact.
Jin clapped his hands together, grinning.
"Relax, relax! He’s here to help you guys train!" he announced, his energetic tone contrasting the overwhelming presence of the Monarch.
Monkey Mic stepped forward, grabbing a megaphone.
"GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE, YO!"
His voice boomed through the field, waking up the last few sluggish students.
"TODAY, WE’RE ANNOUNCING SOMETHING BIG!"
The murmuring students quieted, waiting for the reveal.
"YOU GUYS ARE ABOUT 50 STUDENTS, RIGHT?"
Zion’s brow furrowed slightly.
"Only 50 of us? I thought there were at least a hundred..."
Monkey Mic continued.
"FOR THE NEXT TEST, I WANT YOU TO FORM TEAMS OF FIVE! PICK YOUR MEMBERS WISELY!"
The students glanced at each other, some already whispering about potential teammates.
"AND HERE’S A TWIST!"
Monkey Mic grinned, adjusting his glasses.
"INSTEAD OF COLORS, YOUR TEAM NAME WILL BE BASED ON AN OBJECT YOU’RE WEARING! GET CREATIVE, BREAKDOWN, YO!"
With that, he dropped the mic—literally.
The students immediately split up, forming groups.
Forming a Team
Zion stood in deep thought as Karina and Sera approached him.
"So, do you have a plan for our team name?" Karina asked, arms crossed.
Sera remained quiet, observing.
Zion exhaled, shaking his head.
"Not really. We still need one more member..."
Then, a calm voice cut in.
"Looking for one?"
Zion turned, facing a tall student with slicked-back black hair and black goggles that completely hid his eyes.
The student extended a hand.
"Name’s Calvin."
Zion shook his hand, still analyzing him.
"My team threw me out for being ’useless.’ Thought I’d find a new one."
His voice was calm, almost indifferent.
Zion nodded. "Welcome aboard."
Calvin adjusted his goggles slightly.
"So, still need one more?"
Zion smirked. "Not really. We’re waiting for our last member—Yin. Y’know, the blonde one."
Calvin paused.
Then, in an unreadable tone, he replied—
"Yin, huh? Interesting."
"Yin..."
Calvin’s eyes narrowed slightly behind his dark goggles.
"A blonde student? I heard the first one to get knocked out was blonde. Maybe it’s him."
His thoughts lingered for only a moment before Yin arrived, walking toward them with a bundle of thin red cloth in his hands.
"Hey, Zion!" Yin called out, his voice energetic as usual.
Karina turned to look—but her breath hitched.
Her eyes widened slightly, caught off guard.
Zion, usually sharp and composed, looked completely drained.
Deep black circles hung under his eyes.
Like he hadn’t slept at all.
"What the hell happened to him...?" Karina thought, concern flickering in her mind for just a second.
Then, she clicked her tongue.
"Tsk. Not my concern."
Zion, despite his exhausted state, grinned.
"Oh, hey Yin!" he greeted, forcing an energetic tone. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
But even Yin seemed... different.
Zion’s smile faltered for a split second.
"His eyes... they look different.
Maybe it’s because of yesterday."
Yin held up the red cloths.
"Here. I brought five red strips of cloth—we can wrap them around ourselves and call our group ’Red Cloth.’"
Zion nodded, agreeing without hesitation.
The group took the cloths and began tying them in different ways:
Yin wrapped his around his forehead.
Zion tied his around his left shoulder.
Karina wrapped hers around her waist.
Sera did the same as Yin, tying it on her forehead.
Calvin casually looped his around his neck, letting it hang loose.
And with that—Red Cloth was born.
Elay’s Rush to the Base
Meanwhile, Elay sprinted through the forest, panting heavily.
His breath was ragged, his clothes slightly torn from branches scratching against him.
"That goddamn old man...!" he growled between breaths.
"Didn’t even bother to wake me up! He never said he was coming here!"
Elay’s legs burned, but he pushed forward.
"Good thing I heard everything while running... Werewolf abilities aren’t so bad after all."
As he neared the base, he saw the other students already grouped into teams.
His stomach sank.
"Ah, fuck."
His eyes scanned the field, looking for an open spot.
Then, to his left, he spotted Leon’s group.
Leon grinned.
"Hey, fucker. Care to join?" he asked, voice dripping with cockiness.
Elay’s eye twitched.
"Ugh. It’s him again."
He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Sure, I guess..."
Leon laughed. "Ha! Like you had a choice, fucker."
"That’s enough," Callix said, his voice calm but serious.
He held out something toward Elay.
A pair of glasses.
"Here." Callix said. "I already removed the lenses. They’re safe to wear."
Elay blinked, staring at the frames in his hands.
"Ugh. Glasses?" he thought, feeling annoyed.
Still, after a moment, he put them on.
Leon smirked. "I know, right? Looks so nerdy."
Callix didn’t react. "Don’t wear it if you don’t want to."
Before Elay could respond, Monkey Mic’s voice boomed through the field again.
"LOOKS LIKE EVERYONE GOT THEIR OWN GROUP, YO!"
The students stiffened, turning their attention toward him.
"FROM NOW ON, THESE GROUPS WILL BE YOUR PARTNERS UNTIL YOU GRADUATE!"
A heavy silence fell over the students.
Elay exhaled. "Great. Guess I’m stuck with these idiots."
Across the field, everyone looked determined.
But none more than Yin.
His eyes burned with something new—something dangerous.
And with that, the real test was about to begin.
After the groups were finalized, the Heroes quickly moved into action.
The smell of freshly cooked food drifted through the air as long tables were set up, covered in trays of steaming breakfast dishes.
"Alright, line up!" one of the staff members called out.
Students, still waking up from the early announcement, groggily made their way forward as the heroes handed out plates of food.
The meal had been prepared earlier by the city’s top chefs, ensuring the students got a proper meal before their next challenge.
Some students muttered in relief as they grabbed their plates.
"At least they’re feeding us before whatever hell they throw at us next..."
Others ate quickly and quietly, already focused on the upcoming test.
Zion grabbed his tray and sat down, his mind still clouded with thoughts from last night.
Yin, sitting across from him, ate without a word, his movements sharp and focused.
Karina and Sera joined them, while Calvin sat at the end of the table, calmly eating while adjusting his goggles.
On the other side of the dining area, Elay and Leon’s group were already bickering.
Leon smirked, biting into a piece of toast. "What, too fancy for normal food, glasses?"
Elay sighed, ignoring him. "Shut up and eat, dumbass."
As the students ate, a sense of anticipation filled the air.
Everyone knew—this peaceful breakfast wouldn’t last.
Something big was coming.
And soon, they’d find out what it was.
