Space Odyssey: Spectre-Chapter 403: Cerberus Training 1
Captain Tyler was the first to enter and he was followed by Captain Maxim. It would probably take a few additional minutes before the others followed them into the tent. Most of them had a decision to make and argue about.
Captain Tyler is in charge of the mech division of the Cerberus Mobile Response Unit. The concept of a mech division was foreign to Jace to start with so he decided to just treat it like a heavy armor unit. They had those in the Vexical Military so he had a basis.
Although Jace himself rarely saw tanks or other heavy armor units. Because he was usually ahead of them in the middle of a brawl or fight. But he knew how to work one from his training at the academy.
As the captain of the mech division he was probably well aware that Jace had no prior experience with training mech soldiers. Which was why they sent him someone so talented in the first place.
At the moment the only mechs that Jace is allowing are Walker and Trojan class mechs. Anything bigger would be a detriment at this point since they have to first get used to working alongside these first. He did have training programs but unfortunately for them, nothing in today’s program entailed working with mechs. So they would be stuck with whatever basic gear they would have on hand in their mech.
Captain Maxim is the one in charge of the Light Infantry Division of the Cerberus Mobile Response Unit. The Light Infantry Division included the scouts, light armored Infantry units, quicker mobile vehicles, and some long range scouting equipment. Just about any way to scout from the ground was their domain.
On one hand he has Captain Tyler, a former soldier of the New Hexarian Republic. He was decorated and was even on the fast track to being high ranked within the republic. He has a high level of talent in mech warfare and combat. But in the Victorium he was just starting out and not completely trusted. He had talent but it was not in something that was very highly regarded.
Then there is Captain Maxim, a member of the Vexical Military. At the battle of Vexical Prime he recognized that the first prince was a traitor and executed a number of traitors before his ship was shot down. He spent a number of days defending his position as he was beset on all sides and had to organize his troops including the traitors, and the civilians. The results spoke for him and he would have ended up with a high rank within the militia. But like Tyler it seemed he did not want to just be at the top because there was no one better.
"Do you have an actual plan for our training? Or will you be winging it? From the minimal amount of military records I saw, I could see that you had built a reputation for doing whatever came to mind." maxim declared.
"Nope, I only did that when I was not given an opportunity to have a plan." Jace explained. "When I have an opportunity, like now, I can make a suitable plan. But to be fair, I learned about my new group yesterday for the first time. So I have also not been given much of a warning."
"Understood. What will the beginning of our training entail?" Captain Maxim asked, nodding in understanding. He understood what it meant to be tossed into a situation without any consideration or warning.
"I will explain it when the temporary division leaders get here." Jace declared, "but I can tell you ahead of time that I will give you plenty of leeway with how you organize your divisions. As long as you are able to keep up my basic regiment requirements. In addition there is a list of things that everyone has to be able to do. I am sure I sent out that list as well."
"You did. The exercise regiment is doable for nanohumans given enough time... but it is not realistic to hope other races and normal humans could do that." Captain Maxim pointed out as he glanced at Captain Tyler who nodded his head in agreement.
"I know. But I put the maximum up high so I could test and push the other races while I am researching the appropriate training levels. Not to mention I am waiting on the medical reports as well and a whole lot of other information. Honestly, it is just a placeholder. I just want you to understand when I send out the final one that they have to be completed regardless of how much they complain." Jace explained as he saw the tent flap and more people walk in.
"What about the weapon and vehicle requirements? Are those flexible?" Captain Tyler asked, glancing at the others walking in and saluting. Waiting for Jace to address them. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Those are requirements. That is more a necessity for survival because of what I expect of my people. Essentially they have to survive on a hostile urban planet where everything and everyone is trying to kill them." Jace answered as he looked at the newcomers and waved his hand. While Captain Maxim and Captain Tyler exchanged a look of confusion. "At ease, I recognize Lieutenants Vaz and Salunise. But I do not recognize the rest of you."
Lieutenant Vaz is the pilot from the New Hexarian Republic. Jace had gotten a glance over his combat record. He saw that he was part of several classified operations and understood the darker side of war included those covert operations that Cerberus would mostly specialize in. He should be in charge of the Planetside Space Craft Division, which is the division in charge of the space and aircraft that would be flying in the atmosphere.
Lieutenant Salunise was less of a soldier and more of a scientist and researcher. But as she no doubt already knew. Even as a scientist and researcher she would have to exercise and have a certain capacity for strength and violence. Having all members of the military trained like that was just something the Victorium and even the Vexical Military had developed as a system so for them it was normal. But in other less militaristic countries it was a definite change. She is in charge of the Production and Research Division, they would be researching new technologies and making them new toys to use in battle.
The next to step up is a black haired and furred Woltar man. He had furry ears that were twitching in beat with his tail. Jace looked at him first and he seemed to understand. "I am Lieutenant Sandalwood. I am temporarily in charge of the logistics division, although it appears that there are only five us currently in the division."
Jace chuckled and motioned to a spot. "You can stand there Sandalwood, but there are plenty more. Each division is going to have at least twenty in it. Your division just happens to be one of the ones where the others are training in another location and will not arrive until a month from now." He then turned to Vaz and pointed at a spot. Then looked at Salunise and pointed at another spot. He then turned to the next person.
They were actually much shorter than anyone else. It is a female Siren who was roughly the same chronological age as him. He remembered seeing her record and thinking it was quite unique. Mostly because she left the Union and joined the Victorium following the fall of the republic. She said she joined to see if the Victorium were better, but she is suspected to be a spy for the Union as well. She was sent to his division because Jace would not really care about having a Union spy in his ranks.
She relaxed when she saw him staring at her. "I am called K, I have no other name. I am part of the Covert Division. I am one of only two. Should I assume the same is true of my situation like the logistics division?" She asked as she glanced over at Sandalwood. Unlike the others her avatar and clothes were not a spin on military garb, instead it was a hoodie and jeans.
"That is correct, the divisions with smaller amounts can come to me for assistance just like all the others can as well. Especially when it comes to training." Jace answered and then pointed at a spot. K nodded in understanding and moved over. Jace then turned and looked at the next person.
He just looked like a normal human with brown hair. Nothing too unique or outstanding about him. "My name is Lieutenant Nites, I am temporarily in charge of the heavy armament division." The heavy armament division was just another name for explosives and artillery. He was already aware that the majority of them were here. Just the captain and another from that division were missing.
