Chapter 445: Influential Wolfsbane

The week at Sakana Nine went by faster than he thought it would. Now he was walking into a meeting with five of his captains. Captain Solisa, who has been in charge of the ship and security aboard the ship. Captain Uti, who has been in charge of retrieving all of their technology as well as much Daemon technology that he can. Captain Ulin, who has been in charge of the security and troops that were planetside. Captain Charlie, who was put in charge of all injured and retrieving the corpses of the dead. Then finally there was Captain Nila, who was in charge of registering civilian transfers from the planet. Most of which were the aliens that the Daemon’s brought with them as slaves.

Of the Captains, Nila was the most annoyed and angry. She did not get a chance to see combat. Solisa kept her aboard in lue of actual ship security. So she never even got a chance to go up against some demons.

He walked into the room and went right to a chair and sat down. He had been cooped up in his office doing paper work and sending messages. Giving permission where he could. Denying requests when he had too, which was more often than not. Just as he suspected, a number of the new alien species wanted to join up with his ragtag unit. Noticing that it was a mix of several races while they were fighting.

"Major!" Captain Solisa saluted along with the others and Jace waved his hand to have him relax. "What would you like to start with first?"

"Let’s start with you." Jace answered with a clap of his hands. "How is the Wolfsbane doing? Have there been any problems? Has the Imperial Prince managed to get a scan of our inner systems?"

Captain Solisa spun in a circle before shaking her body throwing off digital water droplets. "The Wolfsbane has not seen any major problems. Only a few minor ones from some conduits being blown out because of a failed power distribution system. We are in the process of fixing it. Aside from those, we do not even have a scorch mark or dent aboard the ship. All main systems are fully functioning."

Solisa then spun backwards doing a backflip in a circle. "The prince’s failed scans and attempts at observation have been observed and blocked. Even the listening devices he planted aboard the ship have all been retrieved. As for our internal systems and the function of the ship, I am almost done reorganizing to make our crew more efficient. In addition I have submitted my onboard crew requests."

Jace nodded, "good, organize it into a unit under your command. You get the first pick." Jace announced and ignored her as she did an extravagant spin in some holographic water. He then looked at Captain Uti. "What is our status on the technology we retrieved and about how much of our own gear we lost?"

Captain Uti grunted. "All of that portal technology and nanotechnology is out of our depth. But the portal tech interestingly enough is reminiscent of ancient human technology. But we are going to have to send all of that to Echo for a thorough check up and dissection."

"What about the biomechanical stuff and our own technology?" Jace asked with a grunt.

"The biomechanical spiders fall under my domain. But we have been too busy with injuries and body retrieval." Captain Charlie informed him.

Jace nodded and waved at Captain Uti to continue. Uti nodded and then sent him a file. "The majority of our tech has been retrieved. But it looks like some of our power packs and mobile power generators have gone missing."

Jace frowned and then looked at Nila. Nila looked away and made a whistling noise. He had a feeling he knew where those had gone. As part of a classified initiative, the High Priestess had ordered Nila to sell some of those to the Imperial Prince. He did not know that specifically, because he did know that Nila was given specific orders from the High Priestess. "Okay, mark them as lost. No need to look for it though. We have enough on our plate for this last day as it is."

Captain Uti frowned for a moment before grunting again, "Understood. Mark it as lost. Now then our emergency supplies and rations are almost spent. How do you want me to mark that?"

Jace looked confused before understanding dawned on him. It was usually the government faction in the Victorium that administered emergency aid and humanitarian support. But in the Vexical Empire and most of the human territories it was the military that did that. Mostly because they had to worry about attacks from pirates. "Mark is as ’Spent Emergency Aid.’ There should be a specific form for you to fill out. Ask for Solisa’s assistance if you cannot find it."

Captain Uti looked at him in confusion.

Jace shrugged, "it falls under MILD’s purview to provide emergency aid. That is why you have never dealt with it before. It used to be the government factions." He explained and then turned to Captain Ulin. "What do you have for me?"

"Troop morale is high. Civilians are singing our praise. I heard some footage of our fighting was leaked and the civilians got a hold of it. They are now praising us as saviors. I do not suppose we could stay for a few days?" Ulin requested.

"Nope. We are heading back to the Princess’ Pride. We need to remain on standby. Not to mention our rations are running low." Jace explained as he shook his head. "But it is good that we made ourselves in the civilian’s eyes. Captain Charlie? You are up."

"First off, our casualties. We lost five people overall. Then we had forty seven heavy injuries. Forty six of which we were able to treat. Four of our casualties died on the ground or were finished off by the daemons. Countless other minor injuries. That is not accounting for the last minute civilians turned soldiers that were in the mix." Charlie explained as she looked through a datapad.

"Body retrieval?" Jace asked.

"Our dead and injured have been retrieved. In addition, on your orders, I have taken custody of the dead relatives of those who have already decided to go to Princess’ Pride." Charlie then sighed as she swiped her hand. "Then there are the dead daemons and Sin Daemons. We retrieved three Sin Daemons all in various states of damage, all dead. As well as several other various types of dead daemons. But it looks like all of their biological differences were a result of nanotechnology like you said."

Jace nodded his head and leaned back in his chair. "Good. What about the biomechanical spiders?"

"Just like you suspected, they are all sentient creatures. We can recreate them, but we have no idea yet how they were controlled. But there is a good possibility they were operating at the behest of the nanotechnology that was in the daemons responding almost on a biological level eventually. Like everything else, it will be sent to Echo when we get the chance." Charlie explained and set down her datapad.

Jace took a moment and thought about what he saw. Agreeing that it only made sense. It seemed like the higher ranking demons had control over the red webs that these miniature spiders had created. "Okay, finally, we have Captain Nila."

Nila smirked and reached behind her and brought up a box and set it on the table before flipping over and dumping the contents on the table. Surprising everyone with her action. "Those who actually saw Jace fight are fanatical. Whether it was the ones you saved at that outpost or in that underground feeding chamber."

Jace smirked as he saw a hand drawn picture by what was clearly a child. He picked it up and looked at it. It was a scene from the daemon outpost when he and Belphe first fought. It was of him punching the purple demon with a smirk and several waves of explosions around him.

"Then there are the soldiers. Both ours and the others. There is already a push from the civilian population on the planet to not just become alliance with the Victorium but to actually join up. In fact a number of retired Oda soldiers are heading toward Victorium territory." Nila announced.

"Where does the problem start?" Jace asked with a chuckle as he set down the hand drawn picture.

"The problem is that we are too influential already. It would be best if we left before the Imperial Prince has to request us to leave." Nila explained with a chuckle. "Word about the Cerberus Mobile Response Unit is already spreading quickly. We came in and took the world back from an unknown week in less than a week."

Jace smiled and leaned back in his chair for a moment before nodding his head. "Okay, time for us to leave. Solisa, send a message to the other ships. Ulin and Nila get everyone aboard the ship. Uti, secure our gear. Charlie, go get some sleep you have not slept in over twenty-four hours." Jace stood up and clapped his hands. "Let’s go home."
