Chapter 84: The VPI Agents Are Here - Uncle Eduard [3]

Agent Stone nodded solemnly. "It’s the very reason I started working—to protect the children of this world from threats they can’t yet face." He knelt in front of them both, patting their heads gently. "You’re incredibly promising youngsters. I’m sure one day you’ll become exceptional Agents. But until then, grow strong and healthy. Don’t risk your lives." He offered them chocolate bars he always carried for quick energy on missions. The girls accepted reluctantly, looking a little dejected.

"Aw..." Melisa murmured sadly. "Okay..."

"I wanted to fight..." Selene grumbled, though she didn’t make a scene.

After convincing the children to stay behind, Agent Radiohead and Agent Stone continued refining the plan, this time with Louis contributing his knowledge, insights, and perspective.

Later, they showed the prince the various gadgets and items brought from the VPI for this mission, explaining each one’s function. Through these discussions, Louis also learned the Classes assigned to each agent.

Althea was a half-human, half-Nature Spirit from Spiritias. She had briefly mentioned her mother, describing her as a unique existence—a Dryad. Althea was a Caster Class, specializing in Nature Spirit Magic and related Elemental Affinities like Earth, Wood, Life, Mud, and more. She and her sister could only exert 10% of their original power, or they risked harming those around them, much like Mirai. She excelled at wide-range barriers and healing and was a master of terrain-controlling Domains.

Stella, her older sister, was a half-human, half-Blood Spirit from Spiritias. They apparently had different mothers but the same father. They kept details about their parents private, though classified files likely held the information. Stella was much sterner and more serious than her sister. She was a Caster specializing in Holy Light, Starlight, Cosmic Magic, Blood Magic, and her signature Blood Light Magic, which fused Blood’s lethality with Light’s vast range for devastating spells.

Agent Stone was classified as both Defender and Vanguard. He could harden his skin until it resembled stone and transform to become thrice as tall, large, and muscular. His origins were unclear, but rumors said he was an orphan raised by the VPI with help from Gustaf, Benladra, and others. He was very close to Helena, treating her almost like a mother figure. He wielded various weapons but preferred large shields, missile launchers, and mechanical hammers that absorbed Psychic Energy for extra force.

The Shackled Saint remained the most mysterious. He could switch between two Classes via his Special Innate Ability. In base form, he was a Caster, but activating the ability turned him into a Primal Vanguard, focused on raw destruction and nearly uncontrollable rampages. There were over twenty recorded incidents of his vandalism across the Frostbane Kingdom. It took the VPI three years to capture him, and he had been detained for two decades, his youthful appearance unchanged. His personality had grown more compliant over time.

As for his uncle Eduard, Louis already knew he could control and merge technology at will. His body, though human-like, was composed of technology he could reshape. He was undoubtedly the strongest in the group. His ability to disrupt and control technology within a five-kilometer radius was invaluable, alongside his many other tricks. He was classified as a Specialist, masterful in both close and long-range combat.

Knowing their capabilities was essential for Louis. He committed everything to memory as he prepared for the battle ahead.

Night fell over the Red Leaf estate, and the Agents were ready. The plan, revised four times, felt feasible to the experts. Louis was eager to end this threat once and for all and return to his training before the Academy began next year. They had considered not only the enemies but also the Entities involved and the Dimensional Rift outside the city, which could turn against them if things went wrong.

"Alright, make sure to protect the house, Lady Red Leaf, and her daughter, okay, Selene?" Louis asked, patting her head gently.

"Okay...!" Selene nodded firmly. "Leave it to me... prince!"

"I’ll do whatever I can to keep the area secure!" Melisa added, raising her hand confidently.

Louis wasn’t truly expecting them to do much, but he found their determination endearing. They took the situation seriously, which warmed his heart slightly. He bid them farewell and approached Lady Red Leaf and her daughter.

"Prince Louis, it’s ready. I finished just in time," Lady Red Leaf sighed in relief, offering him a long artifact wrapped in white cloth. "Please choose a name for her." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Louis’s eyes widened as he accepted it, unwrapping the cloth to reveal his glistening Soul Gear—a beautiful white spear now infused with Spirit Silver and various Spirit Stones. It had become both a Soul Gear and a Spirit Artifact.

The lance shimmered with radiant light, generating a small aurora that fluctuated with the energy of the five elements. Merely touching it deepened Louis’s connection to the weapon. Even Belladine, his spirit, sensed that this spear was crafted to channel her power perfectly.

"I see... thank you," Louis said, gratitude filling his voice. "From now on, you shall be named Gungnir."

Named after the legendary spear of the King of Gods, Odin, Louis felt no other name suited her better, especially after recently learning that the Norse Gods like Odin had truly existed in ancient times within Yggdrasil.

FLASH!

Gungnir responded to her new name, glowing brilliantly. Her silver and white hues shifted to golden, the jewels turning rainbow-colored and shining as brightly as the spear itself.

"How wonderful. Now this is a proper Soul Gear! At long last..."

Louis immediately sensed that his Lance Techniques would reach entirely new heights thanks to Gungnir.

"Please take care and good luck!" Agustina said earnestly. "I’ll be praying to the Goddess on your behalf, Prince Louis."

"I’ll be counting on that," Louis replied. "Let’s meet again this morning to celebrate, then..."

He offered a faint smile, nodded, and walked toward the agents. Two hours earlier, they had sent his uncle to Emerald Grove, where he established a small teleportation formation using his own body as the medium—something only Agent Radiohead, with his fully technology-based Entity body, could achieve.

"It’s ready, everyone," Agent Stone called, tossing a mechanical sphere to the ground. It rapidly opened a blue portal. "Prince Louis, let’s go."

With Zorba, Mirai, Anastasia, Catrise, and Juliette, Louis stepped into the Teleportation Portal, traversing spatial membranes before emerging in front of Emerald Grove.

However, his confident smile quickly vanished at the horror before him.

"Hmm, things aren’t as good as I imagined..." he heard his uncle’s voice, a chill running down his spine.

The skies were dark and crimson, dominated by a massive emerald moon. Above it bloomed an enormous red rose, watching over everything. The entire city lay enveloped in an eternal garden of roses and vines.

"A Fantasy Field? In the middle of the city?!"
