Chapter 30: Chapter 30 Are you afraid that I will get tired?

Jiayi’s heart skipped a beat, and without care for her own fall, she wrapped her arms tightly around the sample in her arms, preferring to lose her balance and fall towards the ground!

In an instant, a hand clasped her waist and yanked her backward.

With a "thud," she landed on the passenger seat, hurriedly checking the sample, and letting out a sigh of relief when she realized it was mostly unharmed.

From the driver’s seat came the man’s dark voice, "They’re just samples, no need to be so nervous."

Had the girl lost her mind? Willing to hurt herself for a pile of samples that were nothing more than trash!

"This is a major deal for JJ. I heard the client is also quite big," Jiayi rubbed her sore wrist; actually lifting and holding the weight was still a bit painful.

Ha, what big deal, big client. When did the Huo Group start having regard for such companies?

His deep eyes flickered, revealing a trace of disdain.

Just as Jiayi was about to stand up, Huo Zhenyang had already taken the large and small samples from her arms, opened the car door, got out, and walked towards the building.

Jiayi’s eyes widened. Was he going to help her carry them inside? She quickly got out of the car and followed after him, "I can do it myself!"

The CEO of Huo Group, driving the world’s top sports car, was tolerable in helping her, a mere marketing assistant, deliver samples, but now the CEO himself was moving the goods upstairs for her, to the client?

She felt an icy chill down her spine...

"If it’s a big deal, it can’t be dropped," the man’s voice was cold as he quickened his pace.

Jiayi could only remain silent.

Once they reached the upstairs client company, Jiayi glanced at the clock and exhaled a long breath; they were three minutes shy of the half-hour mark. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

She informed the receptionist of her purpose, "I’m from JJ, delivering samples to your general manager. I heard he’s about to board a plane soon, so we should be on time, right?" She then turned and gestured to Huo Zhenyang to bring over the samples.

The receptionist hadn’t expected the delivery to be so prompt. She was about to nod, "Alright, just leave it here, and I’ll show it to our Mr. Zhao in a bit..." Her words trailed off as her eyes widened, and her mouth hung open.

A tall and handsome man with a face like the most perfect uncarved jade approached, carrying the samples. His high nose bridge and slender, smooth lips combined with his deep, obsidian eyes lacked expression but still managed to elicit screams from women. Now, as he carried the samples over, with his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows revealing well-dressed forearms, the white shirt he wore alone was probably worth more than a year of a white-collar worker’s salary!

Is... is this JJ’s delivery man?

Do delivery men now... get paid so much? And they’re all this handsome?

The receptionist, though accustomed to various beauties, couldn’t help but cover her mouth and let out a shocked exclamation, as her eyes turned into the shape of hearts.

Jiayi tapped the reception desk, inquiring with confusion,

"Miss, should I leave the sample here?"

It took the receptionist a while to snap back to reality; she nodded her head but her gaze remained firmly on the delivery man.

"Yes, just put it on that table over there," Jiayi suggested, worried about leaving it up front where it could be accidentally knocked over. She noticed an empty space nearby and pointed it out to Huo Zhenyang.

Huo Zhenyang chuckled, amused that this young lady really took him for a delivery man. He snorted softly through his nose, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, but still moved the samples over as instructed.

After the delivery was done, and as they were about to leave, the receptionist called Jiayi back.

Huo Zhenyang couldn’t be bothered to wait, he gestured that he was going downstairs first.

The receptionist, with lingering reluctance, followed the man’s retreating figure, and then asked quietly, "Is he your company’s delivery worker or a warehouse manager?"

Jiayi evaded the question with a guilty conscience, "Uh, yes."

The receptionist, her eyes almost turning heart-shaped with colored contact lenses, lowered her voice even further, "Do you have his contact information, like QQ or WeChat... a phone number would be even better."

Has the world got it wrong, or is this man really that much of a woman magnet?

Carrying stuff just once and you’ve got the company receptionist all besotted like this?

Jiayi hurriedly interrupted, "I don’t know either, I just got here... Oh right, I put the samples over there. I have to go now!"

The receptionist watched as JJ’s little assistant scurried off and stamped her foot in frustration.

On the way back to JJ, Jiayi’s mood brightened considerably, having completed her task successfully. She rolled down the window, breathing in the fresh air while enjoying the scenery along the way.

It took a while before she realized something and quietly inquired, "You... how did you know I was delivering samples to a client?"

"You should be asking, is there anything going on at JJ that I don’t know about?" Huo Zhenyang said, eyes fixed ahead, unhurried, with the sleeves he’d rolled up for carrying the samples still not put back in place.

Jiayi paused for a moment. There it was, this man had indeed planted spies in JJ, monitoring her every move!

She glared at the man for a long time, then her gaze shifted.

A gleam of sweat was visible on the side of his brow.

Moved, Jiayi couldn’t help but pull out a napkin and wipe it off for him.

The girl’s soft fingertips on his skin made Huo Zhenyang’s pupils involuntarily narrow and he slowed down the car, leisurely turning his head. On his handsomely grim face, there was a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, "Afraid I’ve overexerted myself?"

His tone was teasing, fraught with endless innuendo in the confines of the car.

Jiayi quickly withdrew her hand, "Not at all! I’m just worried your sweating will affect your driving. I’m also in the car; I don’t want an accident!"

With that, she leaned against the window again, admiring the scenery outside.

The little girl was really stubborn.

Huo Zhenyang curled his lips and remained silent, continuing to drive forward.

Back at JJ, no sooner had she entered the company than Tang En’en sprang up from her seat upon seeing Jiayi, "Jiayi, you’re back so soon? Did you deliver the samples?"

Jiayi returned to her seat and nodded, "Yes, they’ve been delivered, don’t worry."

Not far away.

Qiao Mina’s face turned pale, disbelief in her eyes. Delivered? Impossible!

She clacked over in her high heels, staring intently at Jiayi, "Delivered within half an hour? You’re not lying, are you?"

"Why don’t you call and check for yourself?" Jiayi shrugged.

Tang En’en was actually quite surprised too. How could it be possible to deliver to the client in half an hour? She tugged at Jiayi’s sleeve, unsure, but saw Jiayi give a gesture to reassure her.

Qiao Mina immediately called the client, and after a few inquiries, the voice on the other end of the line said:

"...Yes, it arrived within half an hour. Our general manager received it before catching a flight, and he’s very pleased. Your marketing assistant is very professional and capable."

After hanging up, Qiao Mina’s face grew paler by the second, staring at Jiayi like she saw a ghost.

"How about that, Manager Qiao. It should be clear now whether I’ve lied or not," Jiayi’s eyes were unrippled.

Qiao Mina didn’t understand how Jiayi did it. Considering the distance from JJ to the client, even if she drove her own VW Beetle, it was absolutely impossible to make it in half an hour.

Could this girl somehow fly through the skies or burrow through the earth?

Swallowing her discontent and suspicions, Qiao Mina couldn’t find fault and stormed back to her seat, her long hair swishing behind her.
