SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 165: Confession!!!
After Elyndra heard what Ainsworth had stated, she didn’t doubt him and was even looking forward to it.
However, his statement and the skills he showed had indeed proved that she was no match for him.
In the end, Elyndra acknowledged her defeat, "In this duel, you win."
Receiving Elyndra’s concession, Ainsworth accepted it as he nodded in agreement, "Hmm."
With their duel yielding an outcome, Elyndra drank the milk tea Ainsworth had made for her while pondering, ’Should I confess now? I feel like Ainsworth might not take the initiative.’
’However, it’s quite unusual to do a confession after a recent duel has ended, and even in my defeat.’
Unbeknownst to Elyndra, Ainsworth was also planning to confess and was willing to take the initiative.
After all, he no longer had to worry about his sister, as she was likely even stronger than he was. Moreover, he had already become the second strongest in this world.
If anyone was blind enough to provoke him, he could command the ten Demon Kings under him to assassinate that person and massacre their family. The power he possessed was sufficient to overturn Earth unless the World’s Strongest were to appear and thwart his actions.
’Well, I can confess later. But for now, I have finally met Elyndra, so I can fulfill that choice event I haven’t completed yet.’
With that in mind, Ainsworth took out the SS-rank Random Otherworld-Based Sub-Class Card from his system inventory.
Using his throwing skills as a God-Level Assassin, Ainsworth threw the card to Elyndra, much to her surprise.
Out of reflex and trust in Ainsworth, Elyndra caught what he threw, but soon was astonished to discover what it was.
Looking at the card held in her right hand, Elyndra exclaimed in surprise, "Isn’t this an SS-rank Random Otherworld-Based Sub-Class Card? Why did you give me this?"
She knew Ainsworth liked her, but even she was surprised he’d give something this valuable to her. Even SS-rank Awakeners might not necessarily get such rewards, as not all Awakeners would dare risk their lives in a Hell Difficulty Otherworld Mission.
’No wonder he became this strong. The Otherworld Mission he completed must have given him lucrative rewards, on top of it being more difficult than what my team completed. Furthermore, his class is stronger than I had expected.’
Although Elyndra couldn’t guess that Ainsworth possessed a system that gave him a huge start compared to her, despite having a commoner background, she no longer cared about how he got it.
Faced with Elyndra’s question, Ainsworth conjured up an excuse, but using Freedom of Speech (SSS), he made it sound convincing: "I haven’t forgotten the Abandon Mission Card you have given me."
"Although I haven’t used it, it did give me the confidence and safety of taking on the Otherworld Mission. Returning the Abandon Mission Card to you feels like I treated your favor cheaply, so have this SS-rank Random Otherworld-Based Sub-Class Card instead."
When they heard Ainsworth’s excuse, they would have been convinced by it if not for one fact. His crush for Elyndra was already an open secret, and even Elyndra’s teammates, who were watching from the sidelines, were already rooting for them to confess already.
Even Elyndra knew that Ainsworth was just bluffing, but since he didn’t confess directly, she couldn’t just address his feelings for her, as it might sound straightforward and narcissistic.
"Thank you."
In the end, Elyndra could only voice her gratitude as it was already given to her and she couldn’t not accept it. She knew from his personality that since he had already given it to her, he had no plans of taking it back.
’At this point, he could have confessed to me now that he’s powerful and can break free from the restrictions of background and social hierarchy. So, it’s likely that he’s still hellbent on taking revenge against the Mysterious Eye Organization to avenge his sister.’
’Due to that, he wouldn’t have time for romance even if he wanted to, as he’d be focused on becoming a god and traveling the multiverse to find traces of that Mysterious Eye Organization.’
Thinking of such a possibility gave Elyndra a headache. However, she wasn’t indecisive. Since she had already decided to confess to him, she no longer expected him to take the initiative.
So, after storing the SS-rank Random Otherworld-Based Sub-Class Card inside her space storage (acquired from a skill), Elyndra decided to confess her feelings for Ainsworth!
"Ainsworth, I need to tell you something!"
"Elyndra, I have something important to say!"
In unison, Elyndra and Ainsworth declared. It shocked both of them, but feeling that what they were going to say was more important, neither of them yielded.
"Ainsworth, let me go first. It’s something important."
In response, Ainsworth shook his head, "What I’m going to announce is more important. If I don’t say it, I’ll regret it."
Hearing Ainsworth’s refusal, Elyndra was quite surprised. She couldn’t guess what he wanted to say, but she felt it shouldn’t be as important as her confession to him.
The two of them couldn’t guess that the other wanted to confess first. Unbeknownst to them, Nyx, Isolde, and Aria were eating popcorn and watching their drama. Even Mira was no longer dazing off and had watched their ordeal with interest.
Those who watched it from a third-person perspective could see clearly what the two of them were up to. Yet Elyndra and Ainsworth, who were involved, couldn’t, as love had temporarily blinded their judgment.
Neither of them expected the other to confess at this time, as that would be too much of a coincidence. And since they didn’t want the other to stop them from confessing, they, who were proud individuals, didn’t plan to yield.
Elyndra was still under the assumption that Ainsworth did not have the time to deal with romance. So, she assumed the important thing he wanted to say was related to them teaming up with each other in the next Otherworld Mission. Such an assumption was logical since she had displayed her power previously in a duel, so such a turn of events was natural.
Noticing that Ainsworth didn’t plan to yield, a sharp glint flashed in Elyndra’s eyes as she resolutely confessed regardless of his opinion:
"Ainsworth, I don’t care about timing, battles, or what fate expects from us.
I like you.
I’ve liked you even before today.
And even if your path is filled with vengeance, gods, or other worlds...
I still want to walk beside you."
Since she, the Crown Princess of the Valtoria Empire, decided to confess to him today, no one could stop her, not even Ainsworth himself!
