SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System-Chapter 166: Claiming Each Other
Hearing Elyndra’s confession, Ainsworth was flabbergasted. No amount of words could describe the shock and astonishment he felt after hearing Elyndra’s heartfelt words.
As an SSS-rank Grand Archivist and possessor of Freedom of Speech (SSS), Ainsworth knew that Elyndra spoke no deceit and everything she said was what she truly felt.
In other words, their love for each other was mutual!
It wasn’t one-sided, as he had previously feared it would be. After all, in his past life, he hadn’t confessed to Elyndra, as he had transmigrated into this world before he could do so. Hence, he didn’t know what Elyndra felt for him and how she even viewed his love for her.
’I didn’t expect Elyndra to confess to me. I even planned to do it first until she interrupted me. No matter the results of my confession, I would have accepted it.’
’Yet, it truly is a pleasant surprise that we both feel the same way for each other.’
The joy Ainsworth felt now was profound and incomparable. Perhaps, the only thing that could surpass it was the time he discovered he had a system.
’Since Elyndra has already taken the initiative, who am I to refuse? Especially when the feeling is mutual.’
With that last thought in mind, Ainsworth nodded his head and gave a reply to Elyndra’s confession:
"I also feel the same way about you. I know you already know of my crush on you. In fact, if you hadn’t interrupted me, I also planned to take the initiative to confess my feelings for you."
"No matter what your answer for it was, I’m prepared for it. But it truly is a wonderful surprise that our love is mutual."
"However..."
Ainsworth paused for a while before continuing, "It’s too hasty for us to become husband and wife, as we don’t know much about each other. At most, I can agree to be your boyfriend or even your fiancé."
"After all, we haven’t even had our first date yet. Most relationships even start with a date before becoming lovers."
"But rest assured, if you want to, I’m willing to assist you in your throne succession trial and even assassinate your sisters now." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Receiving Ainsworth’s reply, Elyndra breathed a sigh of relief. Although she indeed knew of Ainsworth’s crush for her, it still wasn’t guaranteed that he was truly interested in being with her.
After all, for someone as strong as him, it wouldn’t be unusual to start a harem. Even those who were weaker had already done so, so how could someone as powerful as him be content with being with just one girl for the rest of his life?
And it was impossible for him not to know that she, Elyndra Celeste Valtoria, as the Crown Princess of the Valtoria Empire, wouldn’t be with someone who planned to have a polygamous marriage.
Even Elyndra’s father married into the Valtoria Imperial Family, and he even changed his surname to Valtoria. Since the Valtoria Empire was a matriarchy, the Reigning Empress couldn’t be someone else’s harem member.
Elyndra contemplated, ’With Ainsworth’s assistance, my success at the throne succession trial is almost guaranteed. And since I’d be the Reigning Empress at that time, I can choose not to let Ainsworth change his surname. Anyway, I treat him as my equal rather than someone marrying into the imperial family as a son-in-law.’
If it were for Ainsworth’s sake, Elyndra didn’t mind not following the Valtoria Empire’s traditions. Those laws were merely what her ancestors had imposed.
If she truly became a God and her territory spanned multiple worlds, she even dared to change the era of Valtoria and transform it into the Valford Empire, which both she and Ainsworth founded and owned together.
Elyndra didn’t find anything wrong with what she planned to do. After all, even the Valtoria Empire’s territory was carved upon the loss of countless kingdoms’ names.
Although if she were to voice out her plans, her mother would be the first to deprive her of her right to succeed the imperial throne.
After Elyndra finished sorting out the choices she would make once their relationship was sealed, she stepped toward Ainsworth with a steadiness that caught him off guard. She reached out and threaded her fingers through his, her grip firm and sure, almost like she was securing a claim she had already decided on.
Ainsworth paused. Her sudden closeness, the warmth of her hand, and that faint floral scent drifting around her all hit him at once, making his pulse jump.
Elyndra leaned in.
Her lips hovered close to his ear, her breath lightly brushing his skin. The soft warmth of it sent a prickling chill down the back of his neck. When she spoke, her voice was low and velvety, each word sinking straight into him.
"Do you really want to be with me?" she whispered.
"I’m a selfish, possessive girl, Ains~"
"As long as I live, I’ll never let you have anyone else. And when you die..."
Her breath swept over his ear again, slower this time, almost teasing.
"I’ll follow you to the afterlife."
She didn’t pull away. Her lips stayed close, just enough for him to feel every faint exhale, as if she was whispering her vow straight into his bones.
Ainsworth swallowed. His heartbeat thudded so loudly he wondered if she could hear it. Her voice, her warmth, her words wrapped around him like a spell she had woven with absolute intent.
And he understood then that she wasn’t simply holding his hand.
She was claiming him.
Ainsworth didn’t retreat from her possessive words. A faint, dangerous smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Good," he murmured, his eyes sharpening. "Because I’m not planning to share you with anyone either."
His tone dropped, slow and almost predatory.
"And if someone dares to covet you... I’ll erase them. Entire families, entire worlds. Whatever it takes."
Elyndra blinked, surprised for half a heartbeat, but her cheeks flushed with something far from fear. A quiet excitement flickered in her eyes.
"I see," she whispered. "Then we are the same."
