Bei Sangyun blinked.
What makes him think he was not important to her?
"We made a deal that I’ll shield you from the bullies, didn’t we? If I hadn’t come, I would be violating our deal."
"Is that deal more important? Aren’t you scared at what almost happened to you?" Fei Chuan replied with a clenched jaw. "If I was really taken by them, you still should not have come. Just stand by and watch on the sidelines like you did in the past. I won’t blame you if you did that."
Why couldn’t she understand that what she did was very dangerous?
Why didn’t she have any sense of danger at all? Was her life or her dignity worth nothing to her at all?
Was that deal more important? Or was all of this a game to her?
Fei Chuan could not guess what was on Bei Sangyun’s mind, nor could he gauge what her real feelings and intentions were. Everything she did sent his mind awry. She confused him. It was very hard to read her.
And he hated the fact that he was like a headless chicken when it came to her.
Bei Sangyun frowned. She did not like the sound of that.
But seeing the anger and solemn look on his face, she knew that arguing with him would only make him angrier.
Bei Sangyun sighed, "It’s my fault. I am indeed reckless. I won’t do this again without thinking it through. Anyway, let’s go clean you up. Your wounds might get infected." She could admit fault if it meant tending to his wounds. She knew how stubborn Fei Chuan could get.
Bei Sangyun dragged him by the hand.
Fei Chuan looked at the back of her head. The fire in his chest hadn’t dissipated. He was still furious. He wanted to knock some sense into her. And he also badly wanted to kill that pervert.
Fei Chuan lowered his head. This was the first time he got so angry. This extreme emotion that made his blood boil was too hard to dissipate. He knew he should not get angry at her since she was a victim.
But...her casual attitude was not helping at all. He wished she could at least cry, yell, vent her frustration, or ask for his help. But Bei Sangyun did not.
As if this incident was not worth mentioning at all.

The doctor finished bandaging Fei Chuan’s hand. "Fortunately, there are no broken bones. Just don’t overwork your left hand so your wound will heal soon. As for the bruise on your face, make sure to apply the ointment twice a day...."
Bei Sangyun stood behind the doctor as she listened to what the latter said.
"But this is your dominant hand, right? I advise you not to write for at least a day or two. And don’t let your wound get wet."
"This is only a small wound. I can manage," Fei Chuan commented. He got more serious wounds than this in the past. This was nothing to him. As if to prove he was really alright, he opened and closed his palm.
Bei Sangyun’s eyes widened, "Hey, stop that!" She ran and held his hand to stop him from stretching it. "You nag me so much for being reckless and not taking care of myself when you are doing the exact same thing."
Fei Chuan paused. His eyes stared at the hand that was holding his. His ears turned red. He snatched his hand away from hers. Only now he realized that Bei Sangyun had touched his hands many times today, she exceeded the three-second rule.
"This is different," he replied in a low voice.
The doctor glanced at them and tactfully withdrew. "You can use this room to rest for a while. I am just going to step out. If you need anything else, just look for me." The doctor was about to stand up when Fei Chuan called out,
"Doc, this person also needs to be checked." He pointed at Bei Sangyun.
Bei Sangyun was stunned. "I am fine, though?"
"She had a bit of trouble walking. She must have sprained her ankle." Fei Chuan ignored her and said to the doctor.
The doctor sat back down again and asked Bei Sangyun to roll down her socks.
Bei Sangyun remembered that she indeed tripped and fell to the ground. But she did not feel any pain afterward because she was too focused on Fei Chuan and Richard’s fight. But Fei Chuan noticed it?
He noticed something that she wasn’t able to notice by herself. Was he paying attention to her all this time?
This thought made Bei Sangyun feel strange. A warm current entered her heart. For some reason, that conjecture made her a bit happy.
The doctor bandaged her ankle. There were no broken bones, but her ankle was a bit swollen. She was advised not to put any strain on her ankle for a day or two.
Finally, the doctor left.
Bei Sangyun sat on the bed opposite to Fei Chuan. The curtain between them was pulled to the side.
The room was engulfed by silence.
Bei Sangyun was swinging her feet. For some reason, it was very awkward to converse with Fei Chuan today.
Was he still angry?
She took a glance at him. Fei Chuan’s eyes were closed. But Bei Sangyun could tell he wasn’t sleeping.
She opened her mouth to break the silence, "By the way, how did you know I was there in the warehouse?"
Fei Chuan opened his eyes. There was a complicated look on his face as if he was deliberating whether to continue to get angry at her or to let it go. Still, he answered her.
"I noticed something was strange after I took the medical exam. The people in the lower class had an obviously lesser number present compared to other classes. I questioned one of their classmates, that’s when I learned what they were planning. I almost ran to the warehouse recklessly like you but I came back and grabbed Zhong Cheng from the medical room."
As soon as Fei Chuan ran away, he went back two seconds later and barged into one of the rooms. After going through three rooms, he finally found Zhong Cheng. He wasn’t able to explain clearly the matter and just told Zhong Cheng to gather all of Bei Sangyun’s lackeys and follow him to the old warehouse.
Fortunately, Zhong Cheng did not question him and acted fast. They were able to catch up with him, who was at that time fighting with Da Li’s men. Once Zhong Cheng and the others arrived, a big fight occurred in front of the warehouse.
Amidst the chaos outside the warehouse, Fei Chuan, who was paying attention inside the locked room, heard the loud commotion inside. He knew then that Bei Sangyun was in trouble. A rush of adrenaline came to him, and he defeated the enemy he was fighting. Then he unlocked the door from outside and kicked it hard.
"Wow..." Bei Sangyun exclaimed after she listened to his brief explanation. She was impressed that Fei Chuan managed to figure out her situation with those little clues. She was once again impressed by Fei Chuan’s IQ.
Fei Chuan was so smart, intuitive, and observant. How could the young her dare to compete with this genius? The childhood days where she had a massive inferiority complex to Fei Chuan came to her mind.
She was really insane to consider such a genius child like Fei Chuan to be her rival. Was she just digging her own grave?
"You are amazing. It was thanks to you that I was able to escape unscathed. Thank you," Bei Sangyun said sincerely.
Fei Chuan averted her gaze. This was the first time Bei Sangyun complimented him. His ears were a bit red. "...It is still foolish of you to follow them just because I was mentioned."
"As I said, I did not go there without a plan. Look, I got this." Bei Sangyun held out a silver fountain pen. "When I figured it was a trap, I also began to set a trap. I let him spill a little, that’s why you see us like that."
Bei Sangyun did not want Fei Chuan to see her as a reckless foolish person who just rushed to danger like a stupid person. She did not want to give him that impression.
So she proudly showed him her gains in this incident.
However, her desired outcome had a reverse effect on Fei Chuan.
"You risk your dignity and your safety just for that?" Fei Chuan asked with a dark gaze.
Bei Sangyun: "...."
Oh-oh. It looked like she made him angry again.

The car stopped in front of the hotel.
Fei Chuan alighted from the car, and Bei Sangyun followed after him. "It will come in handy in the future. It is very important. Besides, I won’t let him harm me, why are you still getting mad? I’m not reckless like you think."
Fei Chuan ignored her and kept walking. When he arrived in front of the elevator, Bei Sangyun ran forward and pressed the button before he could, "I told you. I will be your left hand until your hand heals."
Fei Chuan glanced at her bandaged ankle, "Didn’t the doctor say not to put a strain on your ankle? You just ran. How is that not being reckless?"
"Because you are ignoring me and walking fast!"
"Why? Should I have waited for you?"
