Standing Next To You-Chapter 287: The Trip 2
Chapter 287: The Trip 2
Zhong Cheng checked his watch and saw there were only thirty minutes left before their scheduled flight.
"Let’s head to the lobby," He lead the group.
Bei Sangyun and Fei Chuan followed behind him, but Lin Sunji was struggling.
"Hey! Help me with this suitcase," she demanded.
Zhong Cheng and the others ignored her plea.
"Hey! You guys are strong healthy men. You should help a woman with her luggage!" Lin Sunji protested.
Bei Sangyun glanced at her. "That’s your baggage. You handle it." Then she turned to Fei Chuan beside her. Her tone softened, "Is your bag heavy? Let me help you."
Fei Chuan remained silent. Wasn’t she just insisting that everyone handle their own luggage?
Lin Sunji was speechless and felt Bei Sangyun was mocking her.
After a moment of thought, Fei Chuan handed the bag of snacks to Bei Sangyun. "Let’s exchange."
He gestured to Bei Sangyun’s backpack, which seemed to be twice as heavy as his own.
Bei Sangyun recognized his care and a smile blossomed on her face. "Thank you. But it’s fine." freewёbnoνel.com
"The snacks need to be handled carefully. My hands are stronger than yours. I might break the pastries inside." Fei Chuan insisted.
Seeing him very determined to carry her bag, Bei Sangyun’s heart warmed. How could be so sweet?
He was so sweet and caring that she couldn’t refuse his care.
She passed her backpack to him and took the bag of snacks. Then, she unwrapped one of his favorite snacks and offered it to Fei Chuan.
Meanwhile, Lin Sunji, witnessing their affectionate interaction, felt a surge of frustration.
No one helped her with her suitcase, yet here they were, helping each other and even displaying affection in front of her!
Determined to leave them behind, Lin Sunji burst into energy and quickly surpassed them. She preferred to be ahead rather than witness their cringey affectionate gestures that hurt her eyes.
Zhong Cheng was surprised to see Lin Sunji catch up and gave her a thumbs up. "See, if you’re willing, you can handle it yourself. This is the beginning of your independence. Congratulations."
Lin Sunji felt a mouthful of blood rises in her throat.
Why these people were so annoying?!
....
The plane journey was swift, and the group soon departed from the airport.
Zhong Cheng led them to the bus station. The remote city they traveled to was warmer than the capital, prompting Bei Sangyun to remove her coat as she waited beside Fei Chuan.
The group of four attracted a lot of attention; the men were handsome, and the women were pretty. Some mistook them for celebrities, and many passengers couldn’t help but glance at them.
Fortunately, the bus station in the remote city wasn’t too crowded. While Zhong Cheng was purchasing tickets from the cashier, Lin Sunji, who had observed enough, grew irritated.
"How long are we going to wait? Can’t we just rent the whole bus and get it over with?" Lin Sunji had been suggesting renting a private car, but Zhong Cheng insisted that taking the bus would add adventure and fun to their journey.
However, Lin Sunji failed to see the fun in sitting in a moving box with a crowd of people.
However, Bei Sangyun agreed with Zhong Cheng’s decision, leaving Lin Sunji with no choice but to bite the bullet.
"You haven’t ridden a bus before, have you? This will be a great experience," Bei Sangyun remarked, causing Lin Sunji’s expression to darken even more.
"Why do I need to experience riding a bus when I have plenty of cars back in the Capital? There’s no need for me to suffer," Lin Sunji grumbled.
Bei Sangyun glanced at her coldly. "I am not talking to you."
Lin Sunji fell silent, realizing that Bei Sangyun was actually conversing with Fei Chuan.
Turning to Fei Chuan again, Bei Sangyun continued, "It’s actually more enjoyable to travel by bus in the countryside. The air is fresh and cool, and you can see the scenery from a higher perspective."
According to Zhong Cheng, the bus seats were arranged in pairs. Naturally, Bei Sangyun chose a seat beside Fei Chuan. There would be three hours of chance to create romantic endeavors with Fei Chuan. This would be a good opportunity.
Fei Chuan, who hadn’t experienced bus travel before, also looked forward to it with Bei Sangyun’s persuasion. Just from her description, riding the bus seemed interesting.
A while later, Zhong Cheng returned, bringing along some snacks crafted by the locals. He handed some to his Boss and brother-in-law. However, when he offered some to Lin Sunji, she simply avoided the snack, clearly disgusted.
Zhong Cheng shrugged. The ride would be three hours long, and Lin Sunji would surely get hungry. She might regret not accepting the snack from him later.
The seating arrangement was as Bei Sangyun had expected. Fei Chuan occupied the window seat, while she sat beside him. In front of them, Zhong Cheng sat by the window, with Lin Sunji beside him.
Lin Sunji clearly wasn’t pleased with the seating or the bus ride itself. The seats felt too narrow for her, making her uncomfortable from the start.
However, the real discomfort began when the bus started moving along the rocky path.
Zhong Cheng appeared accustomed to the bumpy ride and even seemed to enjoy it. Bei Sangyun, who had experienced rougher rides, remained unfazed, finding enjoyment in the journey and the scenery passing by outside the window.
Not to mention, she felt a lot more peaceful and comfortable sharing the scenery with Fei Chuan close to her side.
Fei Chuan, too, seemed to relish the novelty of bus travel. As Bei Sangyun had predicted, the expansive window provided him with a broader view of the countryside’s greenery.
"It would be much nicer with the window open," Bei Sangyun suggested, cracking the window slightly.
The cool, fresh breeze wafted in, carrying the scent of grass and earth. The mountains, the cool breeze and fresh air reminded of his childhood in the River village.
Many passengers also preferred the natural breeze and opted to turn off the air conditioning, opening the windows wide. Zhong Cheng followed suit, causing Lin Sunji, who was already feeling dizzy, to have her hair tousled by the wind.
Despite the chaos, the cool breeze alleviated her dizziness somewhat.
