Star Odyssey-Chapter 3516: The God Of Death’s Reappearance
Chapter 3516: The God Of Death’s Reappearance
Lu Yin's words badly startled Little Salamander. "Grandpa, really?"
Old Salamander patted the young man’s head while staring at Lu Yin. "I may have released a bit of killing intent, but I never took any action."
Lu Yin coldly retorted, "You can make a move without needing a reason. Any creature in the entire Spirit Nidus is welcome to come at me."
As he spoke, Lu Yin looked around. "All of you should already know about my background. If you want to kill me, go ahead and try. I am Lu Yin, the Third Boss of the Grandverse Manor! Stop hiding and come at me! I'm willing to challenge all of this megaverse’s top experts. Who dares to face me?"
Lu Yin's words rang across the universe, producing enough of a breeze that Qing Yun's hair lifted up.
She stared at Lu Yin in a daze. Challenging all of the megaverse’s top experts... This man’s aura was truly unmatched. He seemed absolutely invincible.
Ru Mu's smile deepened, while Palace Master Yao and Old Tao grew excited. From his voice, they could all tell that the Third Boss was still full of energy, despite his various injuries.
The Megalith and the Pridebeast gave Lu Yin thumbs-ups in perfect unison.
Astral Anura rolled his eyes while hefting his steel fork. Then, he also gave Lu Yin a thumbs-up. After all, the toad was also from the Tianyuan Megaverse.
Lu Yin's words incited seething frustration in the countless people who heard them. They all wanted to attack, but they feared taking action against this man.
Who had the courage to attack Lu Yin at this moment? The only ones qualified to do so were experts who were strong enough to compete for the position of Seraph.
Nian Xian sighed as he felt a headache coming on. He did not care about any of this—the Spirit Nidus, the Tianyuan Megaverse, the High Seraph—none of that concerned him in the least. All that mattered was taking Qing Yun away. He knew how much Jiu Xian valued the sister and brother, Qing Yun and Qing Xiao. As long as Nian Xian could save Qing Yun, he might have a chance with Jiu Xian. That thought steadied him, and his power surged. He was determined to rescue Qing Yun.

Old Yu stared at Lu Yin. If only this young man had been born in the Spirit Nidus.
In the distance, Old Salamander was impressed. "Third Boss... you have an aura that can dominate everything. I quite admire that. However, breaking all the rules and violating ancestral precepts is not a good thing."
Lu Yin arched a brow. "Breaking all the rules?"
Old Salamander replied, "While some rules can be broken, others cannot."
"For example?"
"Human-form Spirit Rebirths cannot be with beast-form Spirit Rebirth."
Lu Yin chuckled. "Ba Liu and Yi Yao. I witnessed their love in the Grandverse Manor. If you are capable of it, then go ahead and lead the Primal Beastland against us. Let’s see if Emperor Wu is strong enough to rip down Boundless, or if an old man like you is able to pull down me, Lu Yin!"
His voice rattled the universe, and even the entire Wisdom Domain trembled.
Lu Yin did not care about Old Salamander at all. So what if the creature had lived a long life? The old man had wanted to kill Lu Yin on three separate occasions, and for that alone, Lu Yin would never be comfortable letting the old man go.
Little Salamander trembled. He believed himself to be arrogant and domineering, but beneath Lu Yin’s overwhelming might, Little Salamander felt like he was staring up at a giant.
Old Salamander placed a hand on Little Salamander's head, gently comforting the young man. "Stay back, but watch this battle closely. It will benefit you greatly in the future."
Little Salamander remembered the battle at Ninerings City, and he automatically grabbed at Old Salamander’s hand. "Grandpa, we don't need to fight him for the Primal Beastland!"
Old Salamander sighed. "This isn’t about helping the Primal Beastland, but rather about helping ourselves. Child, if I die, you must not pursue revenge. I have no enmity with this Third Boss. We simply have opposing positions."
Little Salamander squeezed his grandfather’s hand tighter. With his back to Lu Yin, the young man whispered, "Grandpa, I know that you’re paving the way for Golden Roc."
Old Salamander’s eyes flickered, but then he smiled. "Don’t overthink things."
He then gently pushed Little Salamander aside and stood up to walk over to Lu Yin.
Each step saw the old man’s aura grow stronger. The sense of decay about him and even the putrid scent faded away.
Just a few steps caused Old Salamander's body to grow several times taller than before, and the wrinkles vanished from his face. His eyes moved past Lu Yin to focus on Nian Xian. "Four Waters Immortal, you alone are no match for this Third Boss. I am an old fool, and I must shamelessly ask to join forces with you for this fight."
Nian Xian hurried to respond, "I don’t want to fight the Third Boss. I merely need him to release Qing Yun."
As he spoke, Nian Xian turned to look at Lu Yin with a bit of hope. "Third Boss, that girl, Qing Yun, has a bad temper. I'll find someone better for you, and I promise thaht you'll be satisfied. What do you say?"
Lu Yin never even glanced at the man. His attention was solely on Old Salamander.
There was a sense of danger from this old man. While it was not as intense as the danger that the High Seraph gave off, Lu Yin definitely felt some danger.
There were old powerhouses who had not been particularly impressive in their youth, but instead grew more terrifying with age. In particular, it was necessary to be extremely wary of someone as ancient as Old Salamander. Who could say how long he had cultivated for?
At that moment, a golden light shot up from the ground below. It was Golden Roc.
The golden bird flew at Lu Yin, his talons aimed straight at Lu Yin’s head even as Golden Roc activated his Treasureform Sequence Technique. He was preparing to directly clash with Lu Yin.
Old Salamander shook his head and raised his cane. It swung at Lu Yin.
Instantly, that cane grew countless times larger. It became so massive that it blocked the stars in the sky, the golden light from Golden Roc, and even the shining Investiture of the Gods. The cane then slammed down upon Lu Yin.
Lu Yin raised a hand as the cane crashed down.
The collision was deafening, and the resulting shockwave prevented Golden Roc from flying any further upward. An intense pressure appeared. It felt like a dark-gray storm was descending, and it smashed into the ground below.
Lu Yin’s physical strength spiked as he blocked the cane with one hand. Cracks opened up and then spread from his hand.
Old Salamander clenched his cane and pressed it down with greater strength.
Lu Yin’s eyes focused intently. This old man possessed an astonishing level of strength. Lu Yin could not deny being impressed, even if the old man appeared to be on death’s door.
Old Salamander’s strength had reached the biological limit of the megaverse.
The cane slowly bent as Old Salamander and Lu Yin fought each other with brute strength. Eventually, the cane simply shattered, and its fragments scattered across the sky. Golden Roc broke through the shards of the cane, his talons sweeping through the sky.
Suddenly, the pupils in his golden eyes shrank sharply. What is that?
There was a ringing impact, and the bird’s talons met a scythe. A black mist filled the air in front of Golden Roc. Lu Yin had used his God of Death Transformation.
Solid black eyes met Golden Roc's golden eyes, and a chill ran through the bird.
Lu Yin’s hair hung to his waist, but the passing breeze quickly caused it to flutter up. A black mist spun around him like a nebula. Chains formed and twined around behind him. What looked like dark-red tattoos appeared across his body while white mist coalesced into a shield on his left arm. In his right hand, he held a massive scythe while the rest of the black mist billowed behind him in clouds. At this moment, Lu Yin looked like some sort of god or demon.
Bang!
The ringing impact of clashing weapons echoed out again. The scythe sent Golden Roc flying across the sky.
The golden bird spun around, his talons reaching out once more. Even if the bird had not focused on improving his physical strength, most beast-form Spirit Rebirths did not lack physical power. Even if he was not equal to Yu Shan, Golden Roc was not far behind that man. There was a reason why he had the confidence to fight for the title of Seraph.
Lu Yin clenched the scythe tighter, and then he swung the enormous weapon.
The talons met the scythe again, and sparks flew. They burned the void, much to the shock of the people watching.
Just what were they seeing? Just what sort of transformation had the Third Boss undergone?
The God of Death Transformation left everyone stunned, as never before had Lu Yin revealed such an ability.
Just before, Lu Yin had acted with unmatched arrogance, but now, he seemed truly untouchable—beyond even gods and demons.
Among the people observing the battles at the Umbral Deep, there were many of the women who hated Lu Yin for what he had done to Yu Shan. However, at this moment, those women were stunned. They stared at Lu Yin in the sky as he held his scythe and completely overpowered Golden Roc. The expressions on the women’s faces were constantly changing. Lu Yin just looked so, so, so handsome...
The Third Boss was so domineering!
Lu Yin, his name is Lu Yin. He’s Brother Lu!
Further away, Old Tao gaped in awe. Just what was the Third Boss revealing this time?
Qing Yun’s breathing was unsteady as she gazed blankly at Lu Yin. At this moment, time itself felt eternal.
Lu Yin was ignorant of the shock that his transformation had caused among the Spirit Nidus’s cultivators. Step by step, he had climbed up through the Tianyuan Megaverse until he finally became its ruler. His strength, bearing, and sense of responsibility had all contributed to his climb, but his image had also played a role.
During the final battle of ZENITH, Lu Yin had used the God of Death Transformation to defeat Shang Qing and everyone else, despite them joining forces against him. That scene was still popular and repeatedly replayed throughout the entire Tianyuan Megaverse. All who had watched that battle live would never forget it. Lu Yin had radiated a sense of invincibility, of being both godly and demonic.
This same image had finally appeared in the Spirit Nidus, and it was accompanied by the sight of Golden Roc once again smashing into the ground below as a gold meteor.
You Xia quickly moved aside to avoid the plummeting Golden Roc.
There was a loud boom, and then dust and smoke filled the sky.
The chains behind Lu Yin swept down, ready to capture Golden Roc.
Old Salamander somehow had another cane ready. "Third Boss, I am quite impressed by your strength."
Lu Yin’s solid black eyes rose up to look at the old man. "You old fool, I'll send you on your way."
With that, his scythe swept across.
The horizontal slash might have appeared ordinary, yet it contained years of research that Wu Tian had conducted on weapons.
Old Salamander’s eyes flickered, and he raised his cane to block the attack, causing the scythe to slam into it with a loud crash. The clang of clashing weapons rang out again, but this time, the cane was split in two while the scythe’s blade continued on towards Old Salamander. The old man raised a finger and pointed it forward.
Lu Yin arched a brow as his scythe sliced through the finger, severing it and causing Old Salamander to bleed.
Where had the old fool found the courage to try to block a scythe with his bare body? The weapon was clearly powerful enough to overwhelm Golden Roc's talons. The scythe not only carried death energy, but also Wielder-realm battle force and the soil of Lu Yin’s Dust World, as well as Lu Yin's own physical strength.
While his God of Death Transformation looked the same as ever, it no longer gained power from death energy alone.
Old Salamander retreated after his finger was severed. He turned to Nian Xian. "Junior, are you still planning to not act? Once I’m defeated, you will struggle even more to fight on your own. This Third Boss has undergone some sort of transformation. This is his trump card. If we can defeat him now, it will all be over."
Nian Xian was still holding Lu Yin’s consciousness back, but the Dukkhan felt that Old Salamander’s words made a great deal of sense.
The Third Boss had already been heavily injured by Bao Qi’s final blow that had been empowered by the destruction of the Cauldron Bell. This current transformation was doubtless the Third Boss’s ultimate trump card, or else he would have revealed it during the earlier battles.
Let’s go all in then!
Nian Xian waved his brush. "Flowing Stream, Boiling Rain, Suppressing River, Receding Sea!
"Four Waters Immortal!"
As the brush moved, some of the water sequence particles flowed over to hold back Lu Yin's consciousness, while others flowed straight for him.
Lu Yin’s attention shifted, and he frowned. His star of consciousness spun as consciousness energy gathered to form the Skyshearer Millstone.
No one had expected Lu Yin to have actually comprehended the Skyshearer Millstone. This was a technique from the Consciousness Megaverse, and it had been developed by Wu Wei, who was one of the Thirteen Luminaries.
When the Skyshearer Millstone appeared, Nian Xian coughed up blood. Some of his water was split apart, which meant that what remained had to face even greater pressure from Lu Yin’s consciousness. It had become incredibly difficult to hold his consciousness back. "Old Salamander, I can't hold out any longer!"
Old Salamander was staring at Lu Yin, trying to see through this man.
However, not even Mister Mu could understand Lu Yin’s cultivation. Mister Mu had once been the ruler of his own megaverse. He had managed to dam the River of Aeons and anchored the Mirari Realm to the Tianyuan Megaverse. The power that the man had possessed at his peak was still not something that Lu Yin could fully comprehend even now, but there was no way that Old Salamander was Mister Mu’s equal.
After failing to see through Lu Yin, Old Salamander had no choice but to do something reckless. His finger that had been severed was mysteriously restored.
He raised his hand and once again pointed his finger at Lu Yin.
