STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 695: Tsetse fly insect beasts!
Wilderness: Unexplored Area
Buzz!
The buzzing sounded very close to them. The members were all petrified; the sound was so loud they couldn’t believe it was caused by lower-tier beasts.
At the same time, the leader’s palms were sweating because the sound was disturbing him.
He was a Tier-6 Beast Tamer, yet he was struggling with the situation.
He understood the fear of his team, but he wanted to pinpoint the sound first. He didn’t know where it was coming from.
If it was far away, the leader could lead the team across the open land. Once they entered the green cover, they would be safer.
Buzz!
The leader and the members were in a state of panic and confusion. Then, the beast behind the buzzing sound made its appearance. When the leader and the members saw this beast, they were terrified.
"Aaahhh!"
The members let out blood-curdling screams before fleeing in different directions. The leader, a middle-aged man, stood rooted to the spot.
Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
A massive insect beast, over 15ft in size, was hovering in front of them. It was no ordinary insect; it was a Tier-6 Tsetse Fly.
This beast fed on the blood of both beasts and humans. It must have sensed them and identified them as easy prey.
Boom!
The leader summoned his Lifeline Beast. A 20ft tall Red-Eye Ape appeared behind him. The Red-Eye Ape was also a Tier-6 Lifeline Beast. The leader ordered his ape to take down the insect.
Boom!
The ape leaped forward to attack, but the fly beast retreated, flying higher into the sky to avoid the strike.
Seeing this, the leader surprised inwardly. However, when he turned around to look for his members, his expression darkened.
The members had already fled the area. He didn’t know if they were going to be safe. As far as he knew, fly-type insect beasts moved in groups, yet there was only one in front of him.
Buzz!
Not long after, the leader heard more buzzing noises. They were not coming from the fly in front of them.
The ape tried to catch the fly with its bare hands to tear it apart, but the beast was intelligent. It hovered in mid-air, avoiding direct confrontation.
Roar!
The Red-Eye Ape let out a roar of frustration.
Boom!
It smashed the ground in anger. The earth cracked, the fissures expanding for several meters before stopping.
If the attack had landed on the insect’s body, the beast would have burst into pieces like a watermelon. The Tsetse Fly avoided the attacks cleverly, looking for an opening to suck blood from the ape.
Meanwhile,
The members who had fled in different directions had met with danger. The Tsetse Flies there never let go of easy prey. Just as the leader suspected, flies ranging from Tier-4 to Tier-6 had started attacking the team.
Pfff!
One of them was pierced by a fly beast. The blood in his body was drained in the blink of an eye. The fly sucked him dry and dropped the empty corpse on the ground. For a beast that massive, the blood of one human was not enough.
Boom!
One after another, the other criminals were attacked. Their bodies were pierced, and the blood was drained instantly. They were all criminals, none were innocent and one by one, their carcasses hit the ground. They had no time to escape.
Buzz!
Back at the main fight, the Red-Eye Ape was looking for a way to retreat, but the Tsetse Fly wouldn’t give it an opening.
Buzz!
The remaining Tsetse Flies arrived on the scene. Upon seeing the swarm, the leader was terrified.
Pfff!
A long, needle-like mouthpart pierced through the back of the ape. The fly began to absorb the blood.
Boom!
After a struggle, the Red-Eye Ape freed itself. The ape grabbed its contractor and started running away from the spot.
Buzz!
Suddenly, a few more fly beasts blocked their path. The ape tried to force another way out immediately.
Pfff!
More needle-like mouths pierced the ape’s back. The fly beasts began sucking its blood.
The leader was shocked to the core; he was the only survivor of the team. He needed to get back to the hideout before the insects finished them off.
Roar!
The Red-Eye Ape let out a furious roar before freeing itself again. Compared to before, the ape was significantly weaker, but it continued running toward the hideout. The flies didn’t stop chasing.
These were all Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts, but the Tier-6 flies had yet to make their final move. Seeing that their prey might actually escape their grasp, the massive Tier-6 beast acted.
Swoosh!
The robust body quickly caught up with the running ape. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Pfff!
Before the ape could react, the fly beast attacked. The needle-like mouth pierced through its back and began sucking blood in large quantities.
Pfff!
Another needle-like mouthpart hit from the front, piercing through the chest.
Roar!
The Red-Eye Ape let out an unwilling roar. Its massive body stomped the ground, sending shockwaves across the area, but the Tier-6 fly beasts didn’t move an inch. They continued to drain the ape.
"Aaahhh!"
The leader screamed as his mental zone was affected. He could feel that his ape was dying. In a last-ditch effort, the Red-Eye Ape struggled to free itself from the needle-like mouths.
Swoosh!
The next second, the leader collected the massive injured lifeline beast back to the mental zone. Then he started escaping the place on foot.
The red eye ape beast had covered half of the area on its way back. Now, the leader had to lay low or move secretly before going back to the hideout.
The tsetse flies didn’t give up. They have already tasted the blood of the ape beast. They didn’t want to miss the remaining meal again.
Their large compound eyes quickly scanned the vegetation. Not a single living thing can escape under their eyes.
In the process they have spotted several lower tier corrupted beasts. But the flies were continuously looking for the escaped human.
