Chapter 728: You’re Becoming Bolder

Jason sensed multiple attacks coming towards him from all around, but he didn’t bother trying to defend himself against them, and he just focused on making sure he didn’t get skewered by the spear! The spear’s special attribute [You Shall Not Miss] had already marked Jason, so right now, Jason was trying to overpower the mana inside the spear so that he could overcome the attribute! Finally, Jason felt the spear’s energy reducing, and he turned to the side and redirected the spear so that it would slam into the ground!

KA-BOOOM!!

A massive explosion immediately went off, and the surrounding area was torn to pieces as the spear released all the mana it had been holding in! Jason leaped up into the air, and he felt all his subordinates trying to protect themselves from the shockwave of the spear’s attack, and Jason realised that this had gone on for too long already. Jason finally brought his second hand out from his pocket, and he interlocked the fingers of both hands together and called on both of his powers.

[The User is attempting to combine two major power sources]

[The combination of Qi and Mana is considered detrimental to the body of any mage.]

[The user has bypassed the warnings]

[The user has achieved Resonance]

Shine!

A bright blue flake of light that was no larger than a pinhead suddenly appeared in the space between Jason’s two hands, and Jason spoke up to Hesabeth and his subordinates.

"I would suggest you run as far away as you can right now. This is a power capable of killing someone as powerful as me, so I have no idea what it will do to you."

The blue flake moved slowly through the air like snowfall, and it almost seemed like the entire world suddenly drowned in silence as it waited for what was about to come. Hesabeth saw Jason’s subordinates flying away from the flake with anxious looks on their faces, and Hesabeth hummed as she called on her Bias fully to protect her. This wasn’t something she wanted to face head-on.

[Absolute Resonance: 1%]

The flake finally dropped to the ground and gently sank into the rocky earth. And in the next moment, Merivo’s Paradise exploded!

KA-BOOOM!!!

This wasn’t the sort of explosion that only focused on one area! It was an all-encompassing, total wave of destruction that travelled across the entire world with intensity and destroyed everything in it! The house that Jason and Hesabeth had been staying in was completely obliterated, the garden where they had their picnic was torn to shreds, and the lake on the other side of the world dried up before the earth was turned over and consumed in intense flame! The attack that Jason had just unleashed only contained barely 1% of the full power of his Resonance. But in that small flake of power alone, Jason was capable of destroying a world that was on the same level as a Rank II world in the Primordial Expanse! If Jason had unleashed an attack like this back on Earth, Jason was sure that he would eradicate at least one continent from existence!

Jason looked around at the destruction he had caused after the smoke began to clear, and he saw that all of his subordinates had died, and the system was bringing up multiple notifications as it consumed mana to bring them back to life in his Alternate Dimension. Jason sent a silent apology to some of them who looked like they had been seriously hurt, and the subordinates responded that it was okay! Jason finally looked over at Hesabeth, and he couldn’t help the sigh that escaped him when he saw her standing there without even a single scratch on her body. The dragon that Hesabeth had been riding had been eradicated by the attack, but Hesabeth had used a passive shield from an artefact ring that she was wearing, and that managed to protect her long enough for her to somehow get her hand on the [Spear of Heaven] before the attack could reach her. Hesbeath had invoked the defensive capabilities of the spear, and that formed a shield that protected her from the blast.

’How in the world did she even know that the spear had defensive abilities? I never told her about that. And there is no way she could block out my attack with her own mana. This is her Bias in action again, isn’t it?’

It was almost as though Hesabeth could hear exactly what Jason was thinking, because she turned around and looked up at him with a smug smile on her face, and Jason couldn’t help but scoff in amusement as he began to float back to the ground. Jason already knew better than to question some of the things Hesabeth managed to do because of her Bias, so he would just add this to the list! Once Jason was close enough, he saw Hesabeth look around with a look of slight irritation before she turned to him and said.

"You couldn’t try to hold back even a little on that last attack? You do know all this won’t be fixed until sunrise tomorrow, right? Where are we going to sleep?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Jason blinked in slight surprise, and then he smiled sheepishly before looking up.

"Well, you know the stars are beautiful these days, so sleeping out in the open isn’t such a bad thing."

Hesabeth sighed and facepalmed. Did Jason really expect a Queen like her to sleep out in the open and on the ground like some sort of peasant!? This man was becoming far too bold!

"You’ve grown far more daring ever since I told you I love you. Do not forget that I am still a Queen and I expect to be treated as such."

Hesabeth scowled while looking up at Jason in slight anger, and Jason had to struggle not to smile when he saw the blush on Hesabeth’s face. Jason nodded calmly, and he spoke sincerely.

"Of course, your majesty. I’ll keep that in mind."

Hesabeth’s blush increased slightly when Jason called her ’your majesty’, but she just huffed before nodding and turning around to call on her dwarf servants. Hesabeth began to give them instructions on how to prepare a place for her and Jason to sleep, and Jason only watched her for a second before he turned away as he got a notification on his system.

[The user’s subordinate [Gina Fey] has successfully reached the Hierarchy Limit and requires Upgrade Points in order to pass into the next rank.]

[The user’s subordinate [Gina Fey] has begun the process to achieve [True Sagehood]]

[The user’s subordinate [Gina Fey] has begun the process to acquire the [Spirit Arts]]

Jason blinked in surprise as he read through all this, and he began to wonder just what sort of training Gina was currently going through!

....

[The world of Arandelle]

[Within the Lake of Remembrance]

[A Few Minutes Earlier]

Gina could feel an intense sweat going down her body as she let out a harsh breath! Gina had been meditating for the past five hours at this point, and she could sense that something was different today. After training for more than four days, Gina had gained a sense for the world around her that she did not have before. Her understanding of the wind and her ability to use it to achieve her own goals were far beyond what anyone else would have gained in only four days. And in that time, Gina had not only learned how to read the wind, but she also learned how to isolate herself from the world around her and dive into her mind in proper meditation! And right now, Gina was searching through her mind as she desperately tried to find an answer to the question that had been plaguing her all this time.

What would I do if Jason were to die this moment?
