Ulyn buzzed around Gina and Jason excitedly as they walked, and Gina rolled her eyes as Ulyn listed out some questions for her to ask Jason. Gina hesitantly asked them since she wanted to get on Ulyn’s good side, and Jason just chuckled as he answered that he would love to come to the spirit world sometimes, and his favourite food was anything his mother made.
"I love Gina’s cooking as well, but she’s more likely to burn down the house before she gets through half a recipe."
"Hey!"
Gina hit Jason’s shoulder with a blush when he said this, and both Jason and Ulyn laughed in amusement! By the time Jason and Gina got out of the forest, they saw Stella sitting with a group of elven soldiers while waiting for them. Once Stella saw them approaching, she quickly stood up with a wide smile, and she jogged over to them before she bowed while greeting them respectfully! Jason and Gina both smiled at Stella, and Jason finally managed to get a good look at his servant. When Jason met Stella earlier, he didn’t bother looking at her properly because the only thing on his mind back then had been to meet Gina again, but now that he was getting a better look, Jason couldn’t help but notice...
"What the hell are you wearing, Stella? Is that a maid’s gown?"
Jason couldn’t believe what Stella was wearing! The maid’s gown that she had on looked like something straight out of a manga, and Jason couldn’t help but admit that Stella looked very professional in it! Stella smiled at Jason, and she stood with both hands on her stomach as she answered.
"This gown was given to me by the head maid of the Elven castle. It possesses magical and physical defences, and it is comfortable enough for me to carry out all my duties without any problems, so I’ve decided that this would be my new uniform. The head maid also told me that it is necessary for a maid to distinguish herself from her masters, so it is only right that I dress appropriately to show my station. I hope you’ll allow me to use it."
Jason was a little shocked by the speech that he just got from Stella, and for a moment, he wondered who the hell this woman was! Jason glanced back at Gina – who was still riding on his back – and he saw that she wasn’t shocked at all. Gina was just smiling softly at Stella, and Jason could tell that Gina had already received this speech before! From what Jason remembered about Stella, Jason knew that Stella wasn’t the most sophisticated person, and even though she was very versatile, there was still a little bit of clumsiness that made her seem a little unreliable! But the Stella Jason was seeing right now was like a completely different person! Stella looked prim and proper, and it was as if she had gone to some ’maids’ university to learn how to act properly.
’I guess this is what Stella was doing in her own free time. She learned how to act as a proper maid so she could serve me better. In a way, that makes me really happy. It’s nice to know that she is going out of her way to make me look good to others. I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised by the things she does anymore.’
Jason smiled slightly, and he told Stella that she could wear whatever she wanted while serving him, and Stella beamed happily as she thanked Jason! Jason just shook his head with a smile, and he finally turned to regard the elves that had been waiting behind Stella. The elves all bowed to Jason and Gina before the leader of the group stepped forward and spoke in a calm voice.
"We have just received a message from King Farlow, and he was adamant that we pass it to Madam Gina as quickly as possible. The King said that the Queen’s spirit has successfully returned, and her majesty, the Queen has been revived. We wait with desperate anticipation for your return so we may thank you properly for what you have done for us."
All the elves there suddenly went down to one knee in front of Gina and bowed their heads. Jason hummed in slight surprise at their action, and Jason finally put Gina down to the ground so that she could receive the thanks from the elves properly. Gina took Jason’s hand and watched with a small smile as the leader of the elves continued.
"Words cannot begin to describe the gratitude we feel in our hearts for your kindness. On behalf of all of elfkind, please let us be the first to thank you for saving our Queen. We thank the Queen of Tempest!"
"WE THANK THE QUEEN OF TEMPEST!"
The large group echoed the chant reverently, and Gina could feel their intense appreciation washing over her like a wave! Gina felt a surge of happiness in her heart when she saw people appreciating her hard work, and she looked to her side when she felt Jason squeeze her hand tightly. Jason had a feline grin on his face, and Gina could almost see the sheer pride pouring out of his body at that moment!
’I’m so proud of you.’
Jason spoke up through their mental link, and Gina felt a sudden blush rising to her cheek when she heard the intense adoration in Jason’s voice! Gina ducked her head in slight embarrassment, and she had to struggle not to allow any tears to fall from her eyes as she nodded to Jason. Gina thanked the soldiers for their actions before telling them to please get up. Gina had only been doing what she felt was right, so they didn’t need to go so far! The soldiers thanked Gina once more before they gestured towards a carriage that they had prepared for Jason and Gina. The carriage was being pulled by winged horses, and Gina’s eyes lit up in awe as she saw them!
"Are those Pegasus!? Oh my god, they’re actually real! Jason, they’re Pegasus!"
Gina couldn’t believe that the fantastical creatures she had seen on cartoons as a child were actually real! Although Gina had been here for a while, she had never seen the Pegasus since her routine was to go from the inner castle straight to the Lake of Remembrance and then back again. The Pegasus stayed in the Royal Stables far away from Gina’s route, so she could never go and see them! Gina quickly pulled Stella along and hurried over to pet the Pegasus! The Pegasus were pure white horses with white wings folded behind them, and Gina felt awe pass through her body when she touched the neck of one of the horses and felt how soft its hair was!
Huff!
The Pegasus suddenly turned and huffed in Gina’s face playfully, and Gina couldn’t stop herself from bursting out in laughter! Jason just watched Gina playing with the horses from the side, and he couldn’t help but feel an immense amount of pride! Jason had already heard about what Gina did from Farlow earlier, but seeing the effects of her actions like this really made him realise the gravity of what she had done for these people! Even though Jason thought that what Gina did was slightly dangerous, he knew that this was just the sort of person Gina had always been. Gina found it difficult to turn away from someone who needed her help, and if Gina ever realised that she was in a position to help someone, then she wouldn’t hesitate to do just that. This was exactly what made Jason fall in love with her in the first place, and Jason felt glad that other people were starting to see how amazing the woman he chose for himself truly was!
