A gentle breeze enveloped the area. Looking around, not a single soul in sight could be seen. The plains were devoid of any presence of anything and everything. Not even an insect could be spotted. In such a place, a woman with wings like a fairy behind her back appeared out of nowhere.

She held something in her hand, she was eating, her mouth smeared in something red. She licked the substance at her lips with her tongue and relished the divine taste it brought. She continued to feast on the object in her hand.

On a close inspection, the object in the hand of the woman who had a very gentle expression on her face, an innocent visage, and a heavenly beauty was none other than an arm. To be more accurate, a human arm. And the red substance around her mouth was nothing other than human blood.

No one could expect such a scene from a woman so beautiful. Her wings fluttered as she chowed down on the arm. She kept walking until her nose reacted.

Sniff... Sniff...

Her nose picked up the scent of its favorite food. Human flesh. Without waiting for even a second, her wings fluttered and she took to the skies.

She soon arrived at the place where she could smell the human presence. And to her delight, it was a beautiful woman with dark hair and dark eyes. Her ambience was nonchalant as she cleaned the sword in her hand.

At a glance, the woman looked strong, but for the being like a fairy, the human female on the ground was nothing more than a delicacy. She smirked and made her way down to the human female to devour her, but she suddenly stopped.

Another scent of blood flowed into her nostrils. One she recognized so well. She looked around, but no matter how much she looked, she couldn't find any traces of blood.

"Ah? Are you searching for your kind? You're looking in the wrong place, then." The human female spoke, her voice smooth and jubilant as she looked at the woman with wings, a gentle smile on her face.

But, suddenly, that gentle smile changed to that of a grin that terrified the woman with wings as the human female continued, "You should be looking six feet underground."

At first, the woman with wings couldn't understand the words of the human female out of fright but as soon as she understood them, anger brimmed in her eyes as her visage began to change.

The earlier, gentle, and fairy-like woman was no more.

Long nails, sharpened teeth that peeked out of her mouth, a monstrous face, and most of all, the wings on her back that were no longer white but red in color now.

"Hmmm... A blood fairy." The human female spoke as a pink hue covered her and her sword as she raised it at the blood fairy that was making its way to it at lightning crazy speed.

Shaa!

"Kha!"

The blood fairy couldn't understand what had just happened. She tried to turn her head, but her head couldn't turn. Instead, the world turned upside down as her own body and still wings came into her view.

'Ah! My head.' was the last thought in the blood fairy's mind before it departed the world to meet its maker.

"They're too weak now." Xing Xiaomei couldn't help but admit. She didn't know what had happened but she suddenly broke through. She knew that breaking through to the commander realm wasn't easy and some even took years. Even for the grandmaster realm, she had taken almost a year to breakthrough.

Of course, there were exceptions like Yan Rong, who had broken through on the spot as well in her anger, but Xing Xiaomei didn't believe it was just because of her talent. There was something else at play.

Something other than their talent.

And the only common thing, or to be more precise, the only common person between her and Yan Rong that came to her mind was...

'I wonder what he's doing?' Xing Xiaomei thought of a certain man as she cleaned her sword. Wei Jun had disappeared almost a month ago, and then there was no news of him. There was something ominous she felt earlier in the day, but she didn't know what it was about.

All she knew that it was related to Wei Jun and that fact only stood to make her even more curious about what might have happened to him.

'Well, I'm sure I'll see him soon enough. Until then...' She thought so as she turned her head in the direction of another dungeon that had recently opened.

'Let's get busy.'

"Quit worrying, will you?" Yue Peng said as she crushed a goblin underneath her feet. Looking at Lin Ruan, who was killing monsters left and right with great desperation, she knew she was worried for her brother, but she couldn't help but say so out of annoyance.

It had been a few hours since they all felt the same things and all of them broke through to the next level in their cultivations. Well, not all of them exactly.

Lin Ruan didn't break through to the next level but went straight up the peak of the grandmaster realm, just a little more away from a breakthrough.

As for Yue Peng, she had broken into the master realm, a cultivation realm she had never ever imagined before. To achieve such a status in just less than a year, she could be regarded as the greatest genius, but she knew she had nothing to do with it.

It was all thanks to Wei Jun who had granted her treasures and cultivation techniques that were incomparable to even the top sects. Her steady and fast growth in cultivation was only thanks to that.

For such a reason, even she was worried for Wei Jun, but not to the extent of Lin Ruan.

'I guess being siblings is different.' Yue Peng mused internally and followed Lin Ruan, who was blindly killing monsters. She couldn't worry about Wei Jun in the same way as his sister, no matter how deep their bond was, so she just focused on worrying about the current situation.

The entire city was in tatters. The citizens has been evacuated and most of the situation was under control which couldn't be said for the rest of the empire, or the world, but the situation wasn't as bad as anywhere else in the world. That was because of the monster than had appeared in the skies of the Yuan Yin city. She didn't know why that monster only showed up there but...

'Who the hell is that monster?' She couldn't help but be worried internally. Snow white hair and the same colored eyes. Up above in the sky, the dragon that was the object of fear ran away in fear, but there was nowhere to run to.

At first, when the dragon appeared, the entire city was in despair but the situation came under control after Morial, Wei Jun's contracted familiar appeared.

The fight was something to witness, between fire and water. The fiery draconian Morial and the gentle, like water dragon, generally known as 'Lòng' in the mythology, fought like the skies were their playground.

However, as the battle dragged on and the dragon regained its power, Morial began to lose. Those on the ground couldn't help so they did what they could do assist Morial and that was to clear the city. Of course, Morial wasn't the one to care about whatever happened to the city but still, lessening the burden on them worked a bit.

Still, Morial was on the losing side and no matter how they thought, fighting a monster of that size and that power was impossible for both Yue Peng and Lin Ruan. There were some CSF and military personnel who helped a great bit, but still, compared to the power of the dragon, everything paled in comparison.

And then finally, the inevitable happened. Morial fell on the ground, too injured to continue. It had injured the dragon as well which could have been considered an achivement.

The water vapors in the sky began their descent to the ground. From what they had seen, that fog would penetrate one's body and then liquify, forming water inside a person's body. Even Morial had taken most of the damage that way.

Death seemed inevitable when...

Ssssooooo...

It all froze. Everything in the sky, the descending fog, and the fog that was around the dragon froze as well.

"Heal!"

Mark Wilson appeared on time and began to heal the heavily injured Morial while up above in the sky...

Thaa...

Thaa!!!

THAA!!!

The frozen dragon freed itself, crystals of ice falling to the ground. It looked at the being that had come to stop it in a contemptuous manner. A gaze that looked at the tiny, tiny inferior being that had frozen its divine body.

Looking at it, it couldn't help but be enraged. How could someone so tiny hurt it? But, as it looked into the eyes of the being, it trembled.

Hollow eyes that threatened to swallow its very existence looked back at it.

And then suddenly, a powerful wave of Qi spread in the surroundings, freezing the entire sky.

"Frost."
