Thud!

Thud!

Thud!

The frozen pieces of the dragon fell on the earth. All those who could witness such a scene were agape at the strength of the woman who had just landed on her two feet. All she wore was a sparkling ice blue gown that didn't even seem to be made from fabric.

Her feet bare, she made her way to Mark Wilson who was healing Morial. Morial, who had recovered enough to witness what was going up above in the sky looked at the girl making her way to him, or rather towards Mark Wilson.

"How are you feeling?" Mark Wilson worriedly asked.

"All vessels have been successfully converted." The girl replied in a cold voice, but it wasn't because her voice was inherently old, it was simply due to the side effect of her power. The power that numbed her emotions.

She only had one ally in her life, and that was Mark; other than him, everyone was her enemy.

"Then you should return. You shouldn't push yourself like this." Mark Wilson said.

"Very well." She replied before she took to the skies in an instant.

Yue Peng approached Mark Wilson, who had healed Morial, and asked, "Your lover?"

"Yes." Mark Wilson replied but there was uncertainty in his voice. As if it was one sided, or there was something else involved. Yue Peng wasn't one to intrude so she simply asked, "Any news of Wei Jun?"

"No." Mark Wilson replied, "I felt something briefly before I suddenly circled up. I don't know what happened either."

"Hmm..." Yue Peng nodded and looked at Lin Ruan, whose worry couldn't be quelled by anyone. There was no way t get in touch with Wei Jun, and the only clue they had was their contact with him when a surge of emotion rose up inside of them, prompting them to delve into madness.

They were all scared of that feeling, and not one of them could say that those feelings belonged to a person. Those were the feelings of a monster, no, a monster was too vanilla. Those were the feelings of the one even the devil would cower before.

"Don't worry. I can tell he's all right." Mark Wilson said, looking at Lin Ruan. Compared to the others, his connection with Wei Jun was stronger than the rest so he could tell. He could say with certainty that Wei Jun was alive and well.

However, there was another detail that he had hidden from them. Something had changed.

Something strange had happened. Either Wei Jun had changed, or he had changed to who he was. Whatever it was, there was something ominous going on in the world, and it all had to do with Wei Jun.

"Head Professor Clarissa!" A man came running to Clarissa, Natasha's mother, a green-eyed beauty whose charm couldn't be ignored by a man or a woman, regardless of their age.

It was very difficult to believe, looking at her, that she could be fifty-seven years old and the mother of a twenty-four-year-old woman.

"What's the fuss?" Clarissa asked in her smooth voice, unaware of what was happening outside since she was focused on something personal.

"Something has happened. All over the empire, something has happened." The man said, his voice hurried and his tone panicked.

"Calm down and say it clearly. What happened?" Clarissa asked.

"The royal family was taken out." The man took a deep breath and said it as simply as he could. But...

"...What?" Clarissa couldn't understand what that meant. "The Britannia royal family has fallen." The man said again.

"What nonsense are you uttering?!" Clarissa yelled out loud. The fall of the royal family was simple. The entirety of Britannia had fallen. Someone had invaded the empire, and it wasn't someone mild.

"Th-The Thunder Cloud Tempest Sect. They have invaded the empire, and they are taking over cities one at a time. They have already destroyed four magic academies, and three of them are currently underway a defensive battle, but..." The man stopped mid-sentence.

"But what?!" Clarissa yelled.

"The-They have monsters on their side. A girl who can burn everything in cold and the sect master himself. They have all come." The man explained.

"What?" It was unbelievable. The Thunder Cloud Tempest Sect wasn't so idiotic as to do this. They wouldn't invade the entire empire and wreak havoc like this. It was unprecedented to think something like this could happen. If they never thought of it, of course, there were no defensive measures for it as well.

"And..." But, it wasn't the end. There was more. Something more than helped Clarissa understand everything.

"Wei Jun Ruan is expected to come soon as well." The man finally said something that helped Clarissa connect all the dots.

'That lunatic.' Clarissa couldn't understand.

Why would someone whose lover was in someone else's grasp do something reckless like that? No, would someone even go that far in the first place?

It wasn't like she was asking him to lay his life and everything for them. She simply desired for him to come to their side, be on their side, live with them, not for them, as equals if he could prove his worth which he mostly had hence the huge trouble the academy was going through to poach him on their side.

Yet, to do something like that. Something so unreasonable and foolish like that. What in the world was he thinking? If lunatic wasn't the proper word to describe him, then what was? What proper term could be used to describe such a person?

"Prepare defensive measures and alert the headmaster. We are their true target. Make sure they cannot come into he vicinity of the academy. Call every student, professor of every rank, and every combat instructor back. We are going to war." Clarissa said all of that before she left.

She made her way to the depths of the castle, her destination a place where no one was allowed to go. A forbidden area, accessible only to her, the head professors of her rank, and the headmaster.

She arrived at a dead end, nothing but a wall in front of her.

"Manum Dacartes." She said the words she needed to say to open the path that was otherwise invisible to everyone. Stairs appeared before her that went down to the depths of darkness. She took a deep breath and descended the stairs, making her way down the stairs.

Finally, she arrived at what looked like a dungeon, where prisoners would be kept. No one in their right mind would consider that the greatest treasure of the academy and the Britannia empire was hidden underneath the castle.

She took a deep breath and touched the door, but before she could push it open, she heard a voice, well, not heard, but more like the voice resonated within her mind.

"Who is there?"

The deep voice that shook Clarissa down to her core asked. Clarissa remained silent to collect herself for a few minutes before she said, "Great Ancestor. There is danger to the academy."

Great Ancestor.

That was the only way Clarissa knew to address the entity behind the door. There was no other name known, for the entity slept underneath their castle as long as the history books indicated.

No one knew when this being came here but whenever it did, until then, no misfortune had befallen the academy.

"Danger, you say?"

The voice resonated within Clarissa's mind, questioning her. It wasn't asking for the danger, but more of the contribution she had to the said danger.

"Please forgive me, Great Ancestor. Once this crisis is over, I shall face whatever punishment there is." Clarissa said immediately, worried for her life, and more worried for her academy.

"Worry not. I can sense him." The voice said.

'Sense him?' Clarissa said within her mind, but the entity behind the door could hear her.

"Yes. Sense him." The entity replied.

"Deep dark desires, a soul born in death, a body molded in death. Those heavy steps, as he walks in this direction. His steps carry the weight of the dead itself."

"Clarissa, my child, you have made a mistake this time. Angered someone you should not have."

To the words of the great being, Clarissa could only kneel and reply, "I have committed a grave sin, Great Ancestor. In my greed, I have endangered the entire academy."

"Yes, you have." The great entity replied before it said, "But, children make mistakes. That is how you learn. Go, I shall assist you should the need arise."

"Thank you, Great Ancestor," Clarissa said as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

Boom!!!

Just at that moment, the castle shook. Everything and everyone within it shook as well.

'The barrier.' Clarissa said as she ran towards the outskirts of the castle.

Outside, a little away from the castle, outside of a barrier that had some scratches in it, stood a handsome young man with a cold gaze, something golden covering him.

[Qi Discharge]

Boom!!!!!

The war had already begun.
