Chapter 2064: Chapter 2127: The One-Horned Giant Lizard

Just as Li Yifei was about to move forward, he suddenly heard a loud roar from a few hundred meters to the left. By this time, the forest was already pitch black. If it weren’t for Li Yifei’s extraordinary vision, he would probably be blind in the dark. The sudden roar in the silent forest was quite frightening. Originally, Li Yifei didn’t want to go because the traces showed Xu Shanshan had run ahead. However, he immediately heard a delicate shout. Upon hearing this, Li Yifei’s body instantly disappeared from where he stood.

In the blink of an eye, he darted more than ten meters forward. The voice sounded so much like Xu Shanshan’s. Although he didn’t know how she managed to get over there, Li Yifei had to go over.

The forest in the dark was extremely dangerous. It took Li Yifei two or three minutes to run over there, listening to the beast’s roar and the woman’s tender shout. The more he listened, the more it sounded like Xu Shanshan.

"Shanshan, it’s me! I’m here!" Li Yifei shouted when he was less than a hundred meters away.

But when he rushed to twenty or thirty meters, he stopped because he saw two enormous giant lizards, each with horns on their heads, one of which had a horn measuring half a meter. They were even larger than the one he’d just seen Shanshan kill.

"What the hell is going on?" Li Yifei wanted to ask someone, but there was only him here, no one else. In front of him, the two giant lizards roared, with the larger one continuously emitting roaring sounds and spraying sticky liquid from its mouth, while the other was actually making the sound he had just heard, mistaking it for Xu Shanshan’s voice.

Listening now, the sound wasn’t much like Xu Shanshan, but from a distance, Li Yifei had mistaken it for her scream.

This creature could mimic human voices! Li Yifei suddenly understood what was happening. He had been tricked by the creature’s imitated voice.

It was too late to leave. The two giant horned lizards had already charged over, still making that sound, while another was mimicking Xu Shanshan.

Perhaps when Xu Shanshan fought with that giant lizard earlier, these two heard her and kept mimicking in their mouths.

The giant lizards pounced, and a fishy stench assaulted him. These creatures were even more disgusting than the crocodile-like creature Li Yifei encountered earlier, covered in mucus.

Li Yifei thrust his sword, but the tip didn’t pierce the giant lizard. Instead, it was deflected by the mucus on its body. His thrust missed, and Li Yifei staggered slightly, only to be pounced on by the other giant lizard.

A claw flew over; Li Yifei couldn’t dodge in time, so he kicked. The two met in mid-air. Li Yifei only felt a tremendous force strike, causing intense pain in his entire foot. But with this force, Li Yifei quickly retreated, avoiding the two giant lizards’ encirclement.

The smaller giant lizard suddenly emitted a creepy cackling laugh.

"Damn it!" Li Yifei was actually mocked by these two creatures. He lifted his sword and went up again, executing a series of sword moves. But unfortunately, the sword in his hand was too ordinary, always unable to pierce the giant lizard’s defenses.

Perhaps I should take out their eyes. Li Yifei quickly changed his strategy. With a twist of his wrist, the Sword Aura flashed. He shouted loudly, stood firmly, and thrust a sword directly into the giant lizard’s eye.

However... this thrust didn’t harm the giant lizard. The sword tip did hit the giant lizard’s eye, but the wretched thing closed its eye.

One unsuccessful strike; let me stab again. Li Yifei’s anger shifted to the other enormous giant lizard because this guy was mimicking his voice, emitting a deep male basso. He knew if he got hit by its massive horn, a bowl-sized hole would probably appear in his stomach.

You’re unlucky to run into me. Li Yifei gritted his teeth, his speed surged, shaking out sword flowers in a string.

A few dozen seconds later, the enormous giant lizard let out a miserable cry, using its original voice this time, groaning and howling. Li Yifei finally succeeded in stabbing it, hitting the giant lizard’s eye. The sword pierced three inches deep, and Li Yifei’s Sword energy penetrated further inside, wreaking havoc on the giant lizard’s brain. Whatever, this creature started to go berserk.

With a loud thud, the giant lizard’s massive horn hit where Li Yifei had just stood, causing the tree behind him to shake and the gigantic horn embedded in it.

Seizing the chance while the creature tried to pull out its horn, Li Yifei leaped onto its back, holding the sword with both hands, the tip facing down. He forcefully thrust it down into the eye that he had struck before.

"Aoo!" The giant lizard let out a painful cry, its body struggling more violently, while Li Yifei filled his hands with True Qi, continuously channeling it down the sword. The rampant Sword energy rampaged within the giant lizard’s brain.

However, the beast was strong. Li Yifei had to withdraw his sword and leap away, as the smaller giant lizard had already pounced at him. After Li Yifei jumped away, the giant lizard barely missed, its sharp claws nearly injuring its companion.

Li Yifei laughed heartily, turned around, and stabbed again. He was now gaining combat experience.

Soon, the smaller giant lizard was injured too, similarly becoming a one-eyed dragon due to Li Yifei. Now, the two giant lizards rolled together, causing destruction within dozens of meters around.

```
Li Yifei jumped out of the battle circle. If those two creatures didn’t escape, they’d soon be killed by him. But instead of feeling happy, Li Yifei quickly frowned. Where was Xu Shanshan? Where had she gone?
As he was thinking, Li Yifei’s heart suddenly alerted him. He sensed someone, or rather something, quickly approaching, and it was heading towards him.
A few seconds later, Li Yifei drew his sword to thrust, when he heard a surprised voice: "Honey, it’s me!"
Shanshan? Li Yifei’s heart jumped with joy, and he immediately saw a figure rushing toward him. He hurriedly retracted his sword, while stepping back and saying, "Stop, don’t move."
Xu Shanshan steadied herself, blinked her eyes, and her face still held a delighted smile as she asked, "What’s the matter, why won’t you let me hug you?"
"Who am I?" Li Yifei asked warily.
"Who are you?" Xu Shanshan looked to both sides, then said, "You’re my husband, my dearest brother-in-law, my least favorite person!"
"Oh, it’s Shanshan." Li Yifei breathed a sigh of relief. This place was too eerie, he was worried this was something pretending to be her. But then Li Yifei thought, even if it was pretending, it couldn’t be so realistic.
Opening his arms, Li Yifei hugged Xu Shanshan, and felt her smooth skin, the temperature of a normal human body. Thinking of this, Li Yifei couldn’t help but grin foolishly.
"Honey, are you... okay?" Xu Shanshan came out of Li Yifei’s embrace, looking at him with puzzled eyes.
"Nothing’s wrong, of course nothing’s wrong!" Li Yifei immediately shook his head, but still couldn’t help but laugh.
Xu Shanshan blinked and said, "Didn’t your longing for me make you silly?"
"Haha, yes, my longing for you made me silly. Alright, it’s already dark, let’s first deal with those two creatures, then find a place to rest." Li Yifei said, pointing to the two big lizards behind.
Xu Shanshan had already seen those two creatures. She came over upon hearing sounds here. Seeing Li Yifei injure the eyes of those two creatures, Xu Shanshan grasped her sword and said, "Leave it to me."
"Alright, be careful." Li Yifei nodded and didn’t stop Xu Shanshan. She could handle one on her own just now; dealing with the wounded two wouldn’t be an issue, especially since those two were already fighting each other.
The Blue Glow in Xu Shanshan’s hand was incredibly sharp. As sword energy swept across, the two big lizards scrambled away in a panic. But Xu Shanshan didn’t let them escape, she chased them and sliced the neck of the larger giant lizard. The sharp Blue Glow carried a blue death energy and instantly slashed at the giant lizard’s neck. Blood spurted out as Xu Shanshan nimbly jumped back to avoid getting sprayed, ignoring the giant lizard, and turned to chase down the giant lizard fleeing in the other direction.
Using the same method, Xu Shanshan dealt with the smaller giant lizard.
With her long sword back in its sheath, Xu Shanshan patted her hands and walked back with a relaxed expression.
Li Yifei gave a thumbs up, praising, "Not bad, neat and tidy."
"Of course, while waiting for you, I’ve already killed four of them and gotten quite familiar with their battle style and weak spots." Xu Shanshan said slightly proudly.
Li Yifei’s eyes lit up, "Tell me."
"The necks, these creatures have thick hides all over except for two thin spots on the neck that are easy to pierce. And from these spots, you can cut other areas. Actually, once they’re dead, you can cut them freely. I’m not sure how to describe it, but once they’re dead, their skin elsewhere isn’t so tough and is easy to cut open."
Li Yifei nodded repeatedly. He hadn’t realized this, or he would have resolved the two giant lizards earlier instead of having to stab their eyes. Thinking of this, Li Yifei’s face heated up. Fortunately, Xu Shanshan didn’t dwell on this matter. They went and retrieved their backpack, walking lightly to a place Xu Shanshan found earlier—a large tree, about four to five meters thick, with a platform about ten meters high, enough for both to lie on.
This could fend off the weird-looking crocodiles and giant lizards, but wouldn’t be effective against those monkeys and the ghostly shadows.
Both climbed up one after the other. Xu Shanshan took out food from her backpack, while Li Yifei, not in a hurry to eat, recounted to Xu Shanshan all he’d seen on the way.
Xu Shanshan listened, even forgetting to eat, her eyes fixed on Li Yifei, especially upon hearing about the strange black snake and unknown creature that could control the dead. She felt chills down her spine, shivered a few times, couldn’t help but put down her food, and leaned into Li Yifei’s embrace. For Xu Shanshan, dead people didn’t scare her now, but seeing dead people come back to life was terrifying.
