In another part of the capital, an army of demons mixed with members of the Flaming Rose had gathered.

At the front of the army of over a thousand was a single red-skinned girl with a greatsword strapped to her back—Kira.

Her black eyes were emotionless despite being under the scrutiny of thousands.

In truth, some of the demons and even some members of the Flaming Rose didn’t trust her capabilities as a leader. Some believed she was too young, while others thought she was too inexperienced.

Behind her, she could hear their chatter of doubt, but that didn’t concern her. What they thought didn’t matter.

Her orders were absolute.

And right now, she had a mission.

Her hand casually rested on the hilt of her greatsword as she finally spoke. "Let’s move out!"

Just before she could finish her words, a gust of wind swept through the battlefield, followed by a powerful aura.

Thinking it was an enemy attack, the demons immediately became alert. Kira’s eyes narrowed, her arm resting on the hilt of the blade strapped behind her.

Eventually, the strong wind subsided, and when it did, they saw a handsome masked white-haired boy stepping forward from the distance.

The moment the demons set their eyes on this presence, they could instinctively tell he was one of them based on his aura alone.

"I’ve never seen him before."

"That appearance... he’s definitely a higher demon, a very powerful one at that."

"Why would a powerful demon like him show up now of all times... is he here for a fight?"

Even though the white-haired youth gave off a powerful and dangerous aura, there still wasn’t much of an expression on Kira’s face.

She was very adept at reading people. It only took a glance to tell that this person didn’t come to fight.

"I heard you lot are heading west. Can I tag along?" Hendrix asked.

"What business do you have in the west?" she asked coldly.

"Same reason you’re heading there." The boy smiled.

Kira raised a single brow. She wanted to ask how he knew about this but thought it might’ve leaked among the demons, and he somehow caught wind of it.

Hendrix smiled faintly, his white hair fluttering slightly as he slowly approached. "I’m looking for someone... a certain bastard who took everything away from me."

Kira’s eyes finally showed a flicker of interest as she had an idea of who he might be referring to.

After all, there was only one person who gave everyone a headache in the western region.

"I’ve been careful. Patient. Waiting for the right moment," he said, stopping a few feet in front of her. His hands were shoved casually into his pockets, but the dark glint in his eyes showed his resolve. "And now, I believe the time has come."

"You’ve been waiting to kill Nox Cromwell?" she asked, her tone flat.

His smile widened. "Kill? No, no, that would be too kind. I want to destroy him. I want to make him suffer. I want to take away everything... the same way he did to me."

Kira stared at him in silence for a moment.

Their goals were aligned.

It didn’t matter whether she trusted him or not. What mattered was that they had a common enemy.

She nodded once. "Fine. You can tag along. Just don’t get in my way."

"Of course not," he said, his grin lazy, but his eyes cold. "I’ll be the one who tears him apart in the end."

"We’ll see about that." Kira turned her back to him and raised her hand. "Move out!"

The demon army roared and began their march. The Flaming Rose members followed, their weapons glinting under the dull sky.

Unaware of the army coming their way, the citizens of the western region were making preparations to reclaim their territory.

The Ant King, along with Aina, had already located the tunnels, and the other teams were preparing to head out as well. Only Nox’s team remained.

Nox’s team consisted of Akira, Jack, Wendy, Nyx, Serena, and Rab, one of his long-time friends. And Jared, the young master of the Landon Barony.

The reason he was tagging along was because he wanted to see the state of his home town and also find his father .

Currently, the group was waiting for him right outside Eve Manor.

"How long do you think he’ll take?" Jack asked, growing impatient.

"I don’t know, but Mistress Eve was very important to him," Nyx said. "I wouldn’t be shocked if he spent the entire day there."

While they were talking among themselves, the door suddenly opened, and Nox stepped outside, clutching a paper in his right hand.

Everyone’s gaze instinctively went to the paper, but Nox quickly placed it away inside his inventory and said in a loud voice, "Prepare to move out."

"Finally! Let’s get this party started already!" Jack exclaimed.

The others’ eyes lit up as well.

Some time later, the group mounted the dragons Nox had summoned. Their massive wings stretched wide, causing gusts of wind to sweep through the surrounding trees and abandoned buildings.

Jack was the first to hop on one of the dragons, grinning like a madman. "Now this is what I’m talking about!"

Nyx rolled her eyes but followed, steady and calm as always.

Serena, Akira, Wendy, Jared, and Rab all mounted as well, each one securing their position before Nox finally climbed onto the largest ice dragon.

The rest of the dragons remained outside the town, acting as guards and making any demon think twice before approaching.

Without needing further commands, the dragons beat their wings and soared into the sky, carrying them westward at an incredible speed.

As they flew above the ruined cities and broken plains, the atmosphere was quiet—almost peaceful despite the underlying tension.

With the breeze rushing past him, it gave Nox a sense of clarity, and his mind drifted back to the letter.

He had always known there was a reason behind his master’s sudden change of allegiance, and the content of the letter had confirmed just that.

’Now, I just need to play my part,’ he thought.

Eventually, as the sun dipped lower, they spotted the outline of a small town densely populated with demons.
