Chapter 657: Copying a Wing Type skill?

Nox gestured for the dragon to approach the town slowly.

From below, the demons patrolling the town watched in horror, their expressions slightly pale.

"What is that?"

"Are those dragons?"

Most demons had come across dragons before because they also inhabited the non-human continent.

There had been disagreements between them about who were the true overlords of the human continent for years now.

Dragons believed they were superior. The demons also had the same mentality, so naturally their ideologies clashed. As a result, both sides hated each other with a passion.

However, the demons stationed in this town weren’t very powerful, which made them start to panic.

As the dragons descended from the air, the six of them landed in the middle of the town.

A higher-ranking demon with human features approached, with a battalion of demons behind him, all wielding crude but powerful weapons.

Nox watched them with a calm gaze. He stood at the front while the group remained behind him.

"Humans, this place belongs to us now... if you don’t leave, we’ll smash you to pulp," the higher-ranking demon said, pointing a giant spiked maul at Nox.

"Belongs to you?" Nox sneered. "You lot are strangers here. We’re the rightful owners of this town. Now, I’ll give you people twenty seconds to provide all the survivors."

ROOAR! ROOAR! ROOAR!

The six dragons roared in unison, releasing an intense shockwave that swept across the town, shaking buildings and sending debris flying. Some of the weaker demons instantly collapsed to their knees, their weapons slipping from trembling hands. Fear gripped their hearts.

The higher-ranking demon clenched his jaw, struggling to maintain composure as he took a shaky step forward. "D-Don’t think you can scare us! We are demons of the Demonic Empire! We do not fear dragons!"

But the panic spreading among the lower demons betrayed his words.

They wanted to shout at their commandant that they were barely hanging on, and their inner bones were being crushed one after the other, but they didn’t even have the strength to do that.

Nox lazily raised a hand and pointed his index finger at the demon. "Ten seconds left."

"You dare threaten me—"

Before the demon could finish, a flash of golden light appeared in front of him. Nox had already crossed the distance. Channeling mana into his palm, he pressed against the demon’s chest.

BOOM!

A violent blast erupted from Nox’s hand, sending the higher demon flying backwards, smashing through several buildings before crashing into the town wall.

The other demons froze, their faces turning pale as they stared at Nox in disbelief.

’When did he move?!’

’He was just standing there!’

Nox’s cold voice rang out once more. "Five seconds."

"We demons d-don’t surrender!"

Nox snapped his fingers, and an ice spike erupted from the ground, impaling the demon, then flames followed, engulfing his body.

"Help!"

"Aghhh!"

Soon, the cries of that demon stopped, and the scent of burnt flesh filled the air.

"Hmmm!" Jack took a deep sniff of the air, with a satisfied look on his face. "That smells delicious."

"Y-you."

All three girls, including Jared, looked at him with weird eyes.

Nox ignored the banter behind him, his gaze locked on the demons who were literally trembling.

During his few encounters with the demons, Nox had realized that there were two types.

The intelligent and the dumb.

The intelligent were those who thought and acted like humans. They felt pain, fear, joy, lust, greed, etc.

Moreover, they were also very powerful and made rational decisions.

He noticed that the ones with these traits were the ones with humanoid or human features.

Then there were the dumb, these were mindless creatures no different from animals.

Fortunately for Nox, due to the fear he sensed, he could tell that the demons present had at least a semblance of intelligence in them.

"T-There’s no need to fight!" one of the demons spoke up. "We surrender! The survivors... they’re in the western storage building! Please spare us!"

Nox lowered his hand. "Good decision."

Without another word, he walked past them as if they were mere insects. The dragons followed behind, the demons parting to make way.

Inside the storage building, they found dozens of weak, trembling humans huddled together, most of them children and elderly. Their eyes widened in shock when they saw the dragons and the dark-haired youth leading the group.

Most of them instantly recognized him. After all, Nox’s identity was known throughout the western region after his great accomplishments in both the tournament and the beast tide.

"Are we... saved?"

One of the children burst into tears.

The survivors quickly bowed their heads in gratitude. "Thank you! Thank you, young master."

At first, they were scared of the dragons, but after Nox’s explanation that they were tamed, he ordered everyone to board the dragons.

The dragons were massive enough, and a single one could accommodate at least twenty-plus people.

There were over two hundred survivors. Naturally, the dragons wouldn’t be enough, so Nox summoned a couple more from his taming space.

Some of his group immediately helped the survivors onto the dragons’ backs, making sure they were comfortable and wouldn’t fall mid-flight.

Nyx approached her brother with a frown. "Shouldn’t we deal with the remaining demons?"

Nox’s eyes glinted, and he smiled darkly. "I have a surprise for them."

Soon, the dragons took off with the survivors, heading towards the direction of Cromwell Town. Nox and the others didn’t accompany them as they were confident that even a winged demon wouldn’t be able to soar up to the height of the dragons.

Below, the higher-ranking demon who had been blasted away with a single attack slowly rose to his feet, his expression filled with fury as he glared at Nox who was standing atop his dragon.

The demon began to activate his special skill, and a pair of wings burst out of his back.

’A wing type skill!’ Nox’s eyes glinted with excitement when he saw this skill, and without a moment of hesitation, he activated his talent.
