Surviving The Fourth Calamity-Chapter 222 - 45: Diplomatic Meeting, Arrival of Dwarves and Elves_2
Hill and Adrian exchanged a glance, knowing that Fran must have thought of something, but he did not want to share it with them.
Adrian, giving up, waved his hand dismissively and focused on the screen, "Let’s see if the elves have arrived or not!"
Dressed in a light green silk gown, with her silver hair cascading down, the elf stepped down from the carriage and immediately captured everyone’s attention.
She was very beautiful, but to those accustomed to the beauty of the Undead Tribe, her beauty was not exceptional.
Yet, the feeling she emanated, like the first green of spring, made her seem incomparably beautiful.
"Envoy from the Forest of the Elves: Princess Cticatluti Mathis and her accompanying personnel."
Even the commentator added the title ’Princess’ for her.
Without mentioning the accompanying personnel, Hill hardly noticed the few elves behind her.
That clear and natural sensation gave Hill a taste of refreshing tranquility.
Hill felt that compared to himself, this Elf Princess must be more beloved by nature.
However, the Natural Consciousness beside him showed absolutely no interest in this princess.
Hill slowly bowed his head, pondering over the Natural Consciousness, wondering whether this princess was influenced by the Goddess of the Hunt, or if there was something inherently wrong with her.
But the Natural Consciousness did not show hatred or disgust; it was simply uninterested in her.
As the Elf Princess walked into the King’s Hall, the screen gradually faded, and the camera switched to the scene inside the hall.
William sat on the throne with an expressionless face, watching the Elf Princess approach.
Hill frowned slightly, as the princess’s attendants seemed displeased with William’s demeanor.
Did they expect William, who was nearly close to invoking the Divine Fire, to stand up to greet an elf princess?
Even if she would be the Elf Queen in the future, she was not yet!
The princess stood waiting for a while, and upon hearing no response from William, she seemed uncomfortable, a hint of grievance flitting across her eyes.
Finally, she could only nod slightly and said, "King of Saral, good day."
What kind of condescending dialogue was this?
Hill closed his eyes, not wanting to watch any further.
"Elf Princess?" William mused sarcastically, "Stand aside!"
Watching the princess, with a saddened and angered entourage, slowly move next to the Dwarf envoy, Hill silently sighed.
"Elf Princess, there are many of those," Fran suddenly spoke, "This kind are just little princesses of some branch, probably too closely associated with humans and got elevated too high for their own good."
"Between the Forest of the Elves and the Holy State of Dionysio, there’s also a vast wilderness," Adrian added with a smile, "Originally, there were some humans who lived by relying on the elves and even established small kingdoms, but they depended on the elves to survive, always hoping to be accepted to live next to the Forest of the Elves. Their everyday life, to use the words of the Undead, is just kneeling and licking the elves’ boots."
"Elves—are just boasting about being the earliest entities in this world!" Fran scoffed, "What does it matter if they have more deities? They keep boasting about being the most beloved by the World Will. Ha—those two slaps from the Goddess of the Hunt were meant for their Main God, right?"
Hill looked up at Fran.
"Your grandmother is a Half-Elf," Fran said irritably, "She used her power to live in the wilderness and never returned to the Forest of the Elves."
Fran patted Hill’s head, "Even if you have the appearance of an elf, as long as you have human blood flowing in you, you would live a life of discrimination there. But then again, coming to the human world doesn’t bring much good either, Melanie is purely human, that’s why she sent you to me.
Hill touched his ears, grateful they were not long and pointed.
"Maybe it’s a mix between rounded and pointed ears, leaving behind a human appearance," Adrian noted Hill’s movement and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
"I originally thought she also had the Heart of Nature," Hill ignored Adrian, "What I didn’t expect was that charisma could be faked too."
"She looks like one who grew up in the Temple, learning every day to act like a goddess, considering herself as one," Adrian laughed, "Those who are truly loved by nature become Druids and wouldn’t bother with these trifles."
"They have no choice," Fran scoffed, "The Druids must be going crazy by now, right?"
Hill bowed his head in silence; the Druids were indeed the most devout followers of nature. And for the killed Nature God, it was impossible that the Elf Deity System was completely unaware.
William nodded to someone standing next to him.
"Who is that?" Adrian asked, somewhat puzzled.
"The Chancellor appointed by William," Fran said indifferently. "I think his name is Valdas Roger."
"Not from the Great Nobility?" Adrian asked sharply.
"A Court Earl," Fran smiled. "It’s said he came from a lesser noble family, merely a Lord, but after becoming Chancellor, he was titled as an Earl."
Hill and Adrian both understood that when the position of Chancellor, traditionally held by the Great Nobility, was seen as a prospect for ennoblement for a lessor noble, the entire noble hierarchy of Saral Country was truly being turned upside down.
The Chancellor stood to the left of William, facing the King’s Hall, and slowly began, "The first issue for today: the division of Dionysio."
Hill listened, dumbstruck, to the Chancellor’s brief introduction.
Dionysio had now been split into the Holy State of Dionysio and the Holy Alliance Nation, formed by the Great Nobility.
The Great Nobility, unwilling to join the God of Nobility in the Evil Faction, had collectively rebelled.
Only the Royal Family of Dionysio and the most devout part within the Noble Temple remained in the Holy Capital, where the Main Temple of the Nobility was located.
"How dare they?" Hill asked incredulously.
"With the collapse of the Divine Kingdom, even though the God of Nobility has descended into this world, he will need to slumber for decades," Fran scoffed coldly. "Even his sacred artifact, the Noble Temple, dares not be used carelessly.
When the God of Nobility awakens and becomes wholly an Evil God, no one knows what he might do.
Those Great Nobles are betting on the deities in the starry sky and the support of other countries to save their lives.
After all, this is the first line of defense against the Evil God."
Indeed, as Fran suggested, there was no discussion about the rebellion itself in this topic, only a fierce debate over how much every nation should contribute to this Holy Alliance.
The Abyssal Gate is still open, and these countries’ main forces are still deployed fighting demons!
Why else would they be funding the Holy Alliance with money and supplies?
On Dionysio’s home soil, no demons have appeared.
Even though that nation might actually be the darkest and dirtiest of them all.
This is also why these countries are not struggling at all; the alliance with demons is already humanity’s enemy.
Meanwhile, King Noah, seemingly unconcerned, personally joined the ministers to haggle and negotiate.
Even with William sitting on the throne, watching this direction, and knowing that all of Saral Country might see him, he didn’t care.
Hill picked up a plate of dried fruits and hugged it to his chest, nibbling slowly.
"Look at the Dwarves and the Elves over there," Adrian said as he sipped his wine, pointing towards the right side of the screen.
The Dwarves, though unhappy that human affairs were put ahead of their own, stood expressionlessly.
The Elves showed great displeasure. In the King’s Hall, where William alone was seated, they brought forth a chair and let the Princess sit down.
William, sitting there, turned his head, seemed to smile briefly, then changed his sitting posture, continuing to watch the contentious division of interests.
The wealth of Saral Country indeed made others envious.
But the Chancellor clung to one point: if Saral Country must contribute so much in supplies, then the King will dispatch the Undead Army to monitor the transfer of goods and would also help in dealing with the Noble Church.
As soon as this was mentioned, everyone else changed the topic, searching for other aspects to debate with the Prime Minister of Saral.
If the Undead, who are keen on striking evil, really cross so many countries to reach Dionysio, these people all fear their own nations might not withstand it.
Everyone knows what their own nobles are like; nobody wants to die alongside demons.
Just then, King Noah suddenly spoke loudly, "Our Northern Border, including the city in the Northern Border, welcomes the Undead."
Everyone was thoroughly shocked by his shamelessness.
What else is there in Northern Noah now besides demons?
