Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 126: A Tracker?
Vincent transformed into his bat form, his small wings flapping rapidly as he zipped toward the door. Just before reaching it, he turned back toward Enzo, his tiny fanged mouth opening as he called out, "Come on—"
But Enzo remained rooted to the spot, staring at him with a deadpan expression.
"What?" Vincent asked.
Enzo raised a single brow, waiting for him to realize something. But when Vincent just stared at him, confusion evident in his small, beady eyes, Enzo sighed, "You do realize that not every vampire can transform, right?"
Vincent immediately shifted back to his humanoid form, landing clumsily on his knees before standing up with an awkward chuckle. He scratched the back of his head. "Right. I forgot."
Enzo strode forward, gripping Vincent’s arm and pulling him close in one swift motion. His arm wrapped around Vincent’s thin waist, holding him firmly and yanking him closer against his side.
Vincent gasped, his eyes widening. "W-Wait, what are you—"
Before he could finish, the sound of shattering glass echoed through the office as Enzo leaped forward, his entire body propelling them straight through the tall window. Glass exploded around them, shards catching the light as they spun in the air like deadly stars.
Vincent clung to Enzo on instinct, snapping his eyes shut as he yelled, "You could’ve used the door!"
Landing on his feet, Enzo didn’t stop and sprinted towards the garage, Vincent’s leg dangling in the air as he ran.
As soon as they reached the garage, Enzo lowered Vincent, and the younger vampire exhaled a sigh of relief as his feet made contact with the ground again.
Enzo approached a metal drawer at the corner of the garage, yanking it open and pulling out a car key. Without bothering to check which car it belonged to, he pressed the button, and a Lamborghini beeped, the headlights flickering on and off.
He walked over to the car, slid into the driver’s seat, and started the engine, waiting for Vincent, who quickly followed, climbing into the passenger seat and shutting the door.
"You’re going to point me in the right direction," Enzo said, turning to face Vincent. "And if you make any mistakes, and lead me anywhere but to Adeline, I will kill you. Got it?"
Vincent nodded. "Yes, yes. Don’t worry—I won’t make a single mistake. Let’s go."
—
The car came to a silent stop a distance away from the building, and the headlights cut off, leaving only the moonlight to illuminate the path ahead. Enzo pushed the car door open, stepping out, and Vincent followed.
They walked the rest of the way and hid behind a tree near the path that led towards the gate. Enzo reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, handing it to Vincent. "Alright. Do you remember what we talked about?"
"Yes, my liege." He shifted into his bat form and took off into the air, flying toward the building.
—
Inside the building’s room, Adeline remained on her knees, her hands still tied behind her back, and her vision completely obscured by the burlap sack. She sat in silence, waiting and listening to her uncle’s conversations with Dacatt.
About a minute later, she suddenly felt rough fingers graze against her neck. Her body jerked back instinctively, trying to move away, but another hand caught her arm and yanked her forward before the bag was ripped off her head.
The sudden exposure to the bright lights made her eyes snap shut, and she gasped. Her head throbbed a bit as she blinked rapidly, forcing her vision to adjust, and when she could finally see clearly, she found herself staring at her uncles.
Evans stood in the middle with a devilish smile on his face, the pistol in his hand pressed against his own cheek. Alfonso stood to his left, arms crossed, a deep frown creasing his features.
Richard, on the other hand, stood to the right, his expression less confident, unlike the others. His eyes held a trace of hesitation, almost as if he was starting to regret this whole thing.
Evans crouched down in front of her, and just as he opened his mouth to speak, the door to the room swung open with force.
Adeline’s heart skipped a beat, her eyes widening when she saw Enzo. He stepped inside with his head lowered, two men behind him, each aiming a gun at his back.
One of them shoved him forward roughly, stopping just a few steps inside before addressing Evans. "I found this one outside, screaming ’Where is Adeline?’"
Evans stepped closer to Enzo, stopping in front of him and raising his gun. He pressed the cold tip under Enzo’s chin, tilting his face up, and surprisingly, the look on Enzo’s face was exactly what Evans had been hoping for. Fear.
He burst out laughing, his shoulders quivering with laughter. However, Enzo remained silent, his gaze once again dropping to the floor as soon as Evans moved the gun.
As his laughter died down, he stepped aside and gestured forward. "Get him on his knees and tie him up."
One of the men behind Enzo shoved him forward making him stumble slightly before forcing him down to his knees a few steps away from Adeline.
Alfonso, who had walked over to the corner of the room, returned with a rope and tossed it to the guard.
The man caught it and knelt beside Enzo, grabbing his arms and yanking them behind his back. He wrapped the coarse rope around his wrists, binding them tightly before pulling a knot into place. Once he was done, he got up, nodded to Evans, and exited the room with his companion. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Evans crouched in front of Enzo, a smug grin pulling at his lips as he patted the vampire’s cheek with the side of his pistol in a mockingly gentle motion. "How the hell did you even find us?" he asked, his voice laced with both curiosity and amusement.
Enzo ’flinched’ as the cold metal trailed up, stopping at his temple. His breathing turned uneven, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed hard. "I... I downloaded a tracker on Adeline’s phone for safety reasons. I was supposed to meet her tonight, but she never showed up at our scheduled time. I thought maybe she got lost, so I followed the tracker... and it led me here."
"A tracker?" Adeline’s brows furrowed. She didn’t recall Enzo ever downloading a tracker on her phone, or even unlocking her phone at all ever since she’d met him.
