Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 130: I Pulled It Out.
Without another thought, Enzo brought his own wrist to his lips and sank his fangs in, wincing at the sharp pain as his skin tore. He pulled back, making sure his own blood had coated his fangs, and then—he leaned down, pressing his lips to her neck and biting in.
Vincent and Andrei both froze, their eyes wide, watching with a mix of awe and unease. Neither of them had ever seen a human being turned before. No one had. In their world, they had only been taught that it was possible—that if they bit a humanoid species and mixed their blood, it would work.
Adeline’s body trembled beneath his hold, her breathing shallow and erratic as his blood seeped into her bloodstream. Her fingers twitched, and her pupils dilated, her entire body convulsing.
Enzo pulled back, blood staining his lips as his gaze locked onto her still face. He didn’t know what to expect. "Is it working?" he thought.
According to what he remembered from his teachings, the person being turned would eventually lose consciousness at some point during the process. However, at this moment, he wasn’t certain if that was the case or if she was simply dead.
"What if it didn’t work?" A flicker of fear shot through him as the words echoed in his head.
Andrei suddenly patted his shoulder frantically. "It seems to be working!" His voice was both relieved and urgent. But then, he remembered something from what they were taught. Unlike the usual healing process for their kind, which typically took less than a day, during the process of being turned, any existing wounds or cuts on one’s body would be healed in an incredibly brief span, often taking no more than thirty seconds.
"Quick, pull the bullet out before the wound closes!" he yelled, shaking Enzo’s shoulder.
Enzo’s eyes darted around wildly before his head snapped towards Andrei, his mind spinning. "What the fuck am I supposed to pull it out with?!"
Andrei shook his head violently, just as panicked. "I don’t bloody know! Anything! The wound is going to close, and the bullet will be stuck in there!"
Beads of sweat formed on Vincent’s forehead as he darted his eyes between Enzo and Andrei, then back to Adeline. Without thinking, he shoved Enzo’s arm aside and gripped the hem of her shirt, lifting it just enough to reveal her stomach and the bullet wound.
Positioning his long, thin index finger and thumb, he plunged them in.
He gagged instantly at the feeling, the wet, sickening squelch of torn flesh making his stomach churn, but he kept going.
Enzo and Andrei both stared at Vincent with eyes wide, as if he had lost his mind.
"Vincent—"
"No!" Vincent interjected, shutting his eyes. "Don’t. Say. Anything." The heat of her wound burned against his skin, the muscle tightening around him as if trying to force him out.
Fortunately, the bullet hadn’t penetrated too deeply, and after a momentary search, he felt his fingertip graze the bullet, his fingers latching onto it just as the flesh started sealing around him.
Gritting his teeth, he yanked his arm back, the bullet coming free with it in a swift, jerking motion. The second the metal left her body, the wound sealed shut, leaving behind nothing but a darkened scar.
Vincent gasped, stumbling back on his knees and collapsing on his back, panting heavily. He held the bullet up between his bloodied fingers, staring at it like he couldn’t believe what he had just done.
Enzo and Andrei blinked at the same time, their bodies finally snapping back into reality. It had all happened so fast.
Enzo swallowed a hard lump in his throat before pressing a trembling hand against Adeline’s chest, and as expected, there was no heartbeat. He moved his hand to her face, placing a finger under her nose, desperate to feel even the faintest hint of breath. But there was nothing.
A chill ran through him as he slowly turned his head to look at Andrei, who had the same look of dread on his face.
"My liege..." Andrei’s voice was hesitant as he spoke. "Is she—?"
Before he could finish, her eyes abruptly shot open, her pupils dilating unnaturally for a split second before returning to their normal state. A gasp tore from her lips as she jolted upright, moving so fast that Enzo barely had time to lean back before her head nearly collided with his.
She sat there, hunched over, her shoulders rising and falling with heavy breaths. Her fingers curled against the bloodstained fabric of her shirt as her wide, disoriented gaze darted around.
After a few moments of collecting herself, her eyes landed on Vincent, who was still sprawled on the floor. Then, she turned her head toward Enzo and Andrei, confusion etched across her face. "What happened?"
A strangled chuckle escaped Enzo’s throat, rough and unsteady as if he had been holding back a cry. His hands trembled as he reached for her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her tightly against his chest.
"You almost scared the life out of me," he murmured, his face buried into her hair. "I thought I was going to lose you."
Adeline’s mind spun as memories came flooding back—Evans, the gunshot, the searing pain in her stomach. She pulled back slightly, lifting her gaze to Enzo. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Where are my uncles?"
Andrei let out a tired sigh as he pushed himself to his feet, straightening his rumpled suit jacket before responding. "They ran off earlier, but don’t worry. The cops must’ve caught them outside."
Her breath hitched as the memory of Evans pointing the gun at her rushed back vividly. Panic flickered in her eyes, and her hands flew to her stomach, her fingers pressing against the blood-soaked fabric.
Her brows furrowed, confusion washing over her as she lifted her shirt slightly. She expected to see a bullet wound, yet there was nothing. Just blood and a strange, faint mark she didn’t remember having before. "What the hell...?" Her gaze shot to Enzo. "How come there’s nothing here? I know I was shot."
Vincent, who had been silent until now, sat up and held up the bloodied bullet between his fingers.
"I pulled it out," he said simply.
Adeline turned to him, staring blankly. "Huh? You what?"
