Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 80: Empty Your Pockets
Adeline’s fingers twitched beneath his, her instincts screaming at her to pull away. But she forced herself to stay still.
She didn’t want to feel like this. She wanted things to go back to the way they were before, when she could smack his hand away without hesitation. Now. She couldn’t even do that anymore. Things had gotten too weird.
If she wanted to get rid of the awkwardness that had taken root between them, she had to act normal.
Taking a deep breath, she let herself relax against the seat, and for a moment, it worked. The awkwardness was starting to fade.
But then, Enzo, too absorbed in his phone call, shifted his fingers, curling them around hers. He absentmindedly rubbed his pinky gently against her skin.
Adeline forgot how to breathe.
She swallowed hard, her free hand pressing against her chest, trying to steady her wildly beating heart. It pounded so hard against her ribs, her face heating up so fast she thought she might pass out.
Enzo, completely oblivious to what he was doing, continued speaking into the phone. "If the rain’s that bad, we’ll have to postpone the meeting until next week. It’ll set the company’s schedule back a little, but we’ll manage."
Andrei’s voice came through the other line. "Yes, my liege. I’ll make sure to handle the meeting if you haven’t returned by then."
As soon as he ended the initial call, another call came in almost instantly, and he answered it.
Meanwhile, Adeline was in full-blown panic mode now, her hand tingling from where his fingers brushed against hers.
Then, as if fate was actively trying to kill her, Enzo laughed at something the person he was on a call with said. And the moment it left his lips, his fingers tightened around hers in a gentle squeeze.
A sharp, electrifying shock ran up her arm. Her body reacted before her mind could stop it. She yanked her hand back so fast—so forcefully that it completely snapped Enzo back to reality.
His brows furrowed in confusion as he turned his head toward her.
Adeline, now red as a tomato, pressed her arm against the door and buried her face into it, as if trying to disappear into the car itself. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Enzo blinked. His mind replayed the last few moments. His hand and hers. The way his fingers had wrapped around hers. The way he had rubbed his pinky against her skin. The way he had squeezed it.
He hadn’t even realized he was touching her this whole time. Arching a brow, he leaned forward, trying to catch a glimpse of her face. But with the way she was curled up against the door, all he could see was the top of her head.
The voice on the other end of the line spoke, recapturing his focus. He leaned back into his seat, bringing the phone back to his ear and giving an affirmative hum.

They arrived in Vegas a few hours later, just as planned, and the car rolled to a stop in front of the hotel Andrei had booked for them. The sun was high in the sky, casting long shadows across the pavement.
Adeline and Enzo stepped out, standing patiently as the driver unloaded their luggage.
Above the building across from the hotel, a bat flapped its wings frantically, landing on the rooftop. Its form twisted and morphed, shifting into that of a man. It was Vincent. He flopped against the roof’s ledge, panting heavily, his chest rising and falling rapidly, sweat dripping down his forehead.
He had flown all the way from Libu City to Vegas, tailing their car without stopping. His muscles ached from the effort, and he could feel the exhaustion settling into his bones.
His eyes followed Enzo and Adeline as they entered the hotel together, their figures disappearing behind the revolving doors.
He exhaled heavily, wiping the sweat from his brow before transforming back into a bat. He swooped down, making a quick descent into a thin alleyway between the building and another one just beside it. Landing softly on the ground, he shifted back into his humanoid form.
The narrow space smelled of garbage, causing Vincent to grimace, but he mostly ignored it, his focus solely on the hotel entrance.
He stood there, partially hidden in the shadows, his body concealed while his head poked out just enough to get a better view of the hotel’s entrance. He hadn’t been there for more than a few seconds when he suddenly felt a firm tap on his shoulder.
Turning his head, Vincent came face to face with two tall, broad-shouldered men standing beside him. Thugs, no doubt. He could tell immediately by the way they carried themselves, the cocky smirks on their faces, and the confidence of men who thought they owned the streets.
One of them, a muscular guy with a toothpick dangling lazily from his mouth, plucked the small stick from his lips, flicking it at Vincent.
The tiny splinter of wood hit his nose before bouncing to the ground. Vincent winced, closing one eye as he rubbed the spot where it had stung.
"What the hell are you doing creeping around here like a fucking weirdo?" the man who had the toothpick asked.
His friend, standing behind him, slightly taller but just as broad as he was, let out a chuckle and rested his arm on his buddy’s shoulder. "Yeah, you stalking someone or something?" His tone was mocking, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he looked Vincent up and down.
Vincent frowned at the accusation and pointed a finger at them. "I am not a weirdo, and neither am I stalking—" He paused, his words catching in his throat as he realized something. He was, in fact, stalking Enzo.
The thug in front waved his hand dismissively, uninterested in what he was saying. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I don’t really give a shit what you’re doing in an alley like this."
He stepped closer, reaching out and giving Vincent a friendly pat on the shoulder before flashing a wide grin. "Why don’t you go ahead and do us a favor—empty your pockets."
