Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 88: You Smell good
She shifted slightly, but something firm and warm held her in place. Lifting her head just a little, she glanced down and realized she was lying right on top of Enzo, her head resting against his bare chest. One of his arms was draped over her waist, holding her close, while the other rested against her back.
She was too tired to move, her body still sore from the night before. It wasn’t unbearable, but it was a constant reminder of what they did and just how rough Enzo had been with her.
The steady rise and fall of his breathing was slow and even, the warmth of his skin radiating through the thin fabric of her silky nightdress.
Her gaze flickered down to herself, noting that she was clean and dressed, as if she had never passed out from exhaustion after their intense sex. She didn’t remember having the strength to move, let alone freshen up and put this on.
Which meant... Enzo must have done it. A soft blush crept up her cheeks at the thought. The thought of him taking care of her that way, cuddling her and making sure she was comfortable while she slept, made something stir in her chest.
She glanced up at his face, taking in the sight of him. His dark hair was messier than usual, strands falling over his forehead in a way that only made him look more ridiculously attractive. His lips were slightly parted, his face peaceful, almost boyish in sleep. And then there was his body, bare aside from his boxers. She swallowed hard.
Lowering her head again, she rested her cheek against his chest, her fingers lightly brushing over the fabric of the blanket draped over them as she stared absentmindedly at the window.
"So... we’re a couple now," she thought to herself. "And we actually did it... We had sex... I’m no longer a virgin."
That thought alone sent another rush of warmth through her. She sighed, the words slipping past her lips before she even realized she had spoken. "This feels... nice."
The sunlight shifted slightly as time passed, making her wonder just how long she had slept. Her eyes flickered toward the clock on the wall—8:13 AM. They had entered the hotel room around 7pm even though they arrived way earlier. Had she really slept for over eleven hours? Just how exhausted had she been after everything they did?
Just then, Enzo exhaled heavily, the warmth of his breath hitting the top of her head. His body tensed a bit beneath her before relaxing again, signaling that he was waking up. She lifted her head once again, just in time to see his eyelids flutter open, revealing those dark blue eyes that always seemed to see right through her.
A lazy smile stretched across his lips as he gazed at her, his voice deep and still thick with sleep as he murmured, "Good morning, cupcake."
Before she could even respond, his grip tightened around her, pinning her arms to her sides as he pulled her up, bringing her face right above his. She blinked at him, momentarily speechless. That stupid, knowing smirk on his lips—damn it, why did he have to look so good first thing in the morning?
He kicked the blanket off of them before pushing his head up slightly and planting a firm, lingering kiss on her right cheek. The force of it squished her cheek, her right eye snapping shut instinctively.
"Stop that, idiot," she muttered, her voice a mix of annoyance and flustered embarrassment.
Enzo chuckled lightly, releasing his grip on her, and allowed his head to fall back against the pillow. He then stretched his limbs with a languid stretch, his muscles flexing beneath his bare skin. Adeline quickly rolled off him, sitting up beside him.
He pushed himself up into a sitting position as well, resting his head against the headboard, his gaze fixed on her. His eyes glinted with amusement as he watched her shyly twirl a strand of her hair around her fingers, her eyes cast downwards towards the mattress.
He knew exactly what she was thinking about. He could practically see the memories of last night running through her mind. It had all happened so suddenly, even for him.
Even he was still trying to wrap his head around it. If someone had told him a few days ago that he and Adeline would not only confess their feelings for each other but also have sex, he would’ve laughed in their face. And yet, here they were.
He spread his arms open and wiggled his fingers at her. "Come."
Adeline’s eyes snapped up to his face, one brow raised. "What?"
Enzo gave her a small nod, wiggling his fingers again. "Come on," he repeated.
"Why?"
He let out an exaggerated sigh, dropping his head back against the headboard. "Do you always have to ask so many questions?" Then, tilting his head toward her, he gestured again. "Just come here. I just want to hold you."
Adeline narrowed her eyes, studying him for a moment. He was up to something, and she could feel it. But the warmth of his gaze and the way he was looking at her like he was inviting her into something safe made her want to move into his arms.
She hesitated, her fingers tightening around the sheets while Enzo just kept watching her, waiting.
With a sigh, she gave in, scooting towards him. The second she was within reach, his hands found her waist, and he pulled her into his lap, placing her in a straddling position.
A surprised yelp escaped her lips, and her hands instinctively shot out, grasping his shoulders to steady herself.
He pressed his face into the curve of her neck, and a shiver ran through her as she felt his warm breath against her skin while he inhaled deeply, savoring her scent.
"Fuck, you smell good," he murmured, breathing out deeply.
Adeline’s breath hitched. The way he said it—so low and unfiltered—made heat creep up her cheeks.
