Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 89: Check out Vegas
Enzo tilted his head, his nose brushing along her throat. His hands, still on her waist, squeezed gently, fingers pressing into the silk of her nightdress.
His breath tickled her neck, and she whimpered softly, hating the way her body reacted so easily to him.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes locking onto hers and a smirk playing on his lips as he took in the blush spreading across her face. He knew exactly what he was doing to her.
"Did you sleep well last night?" he asked.
Adeline gave him a small nod, but Enzo only raised a skeptical brow, his fingers tapping lightly against her waist. "You sure?" he asked. "Is everything alright? Or do you need me to cheer you up?"
Her expression deadpanned, staring at him like he’d just said the dumbest thing imaginable. Cheer her up? How the hell was he supposed to do that when all he ever did was annoy her or tease her to death?
"Hmm... the look on your face says otherwise," he said.
Just then, her body jolted in shock as she felt his fingers move to her ribs, pressing in just enough to tickle. Her eyes widened, and before she could stop herself, a loud laugh escaped her lips. She tried to wriggle away, to push him off, but it was no use. His grip on her only tightened, keeping her firmly in place.
Her laughter spilled out in breathless waves as she squirmed, twisting in his arms. He continued his merciless assault, his fingers trailing along her sides, knowing exactly where to aim.
"Enzo—!" She gasped, trying to sound threatening, but the laughter in her voice ruined it.
"Hmm?"
"Stop—!" She tried to pry his hands off, but he only used the opportunity to pull her even closer, her breasts pressing against his bare chest.
Enzo chuckled, his fingers still working against her ribs as he teased, "Do you feel better now?"
Adeline was laughing too hard to form a proper response. She’d always been a sucker for tickles, but she had never told anyone that, and she sure as hell never told Enzo. How did he even figure it out?
She had no choice but to surrender, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face into his shoulder as she frantically nodded. "Y-Yes! Yes, I feel better—just stop, please—!"
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Enzo relented. He shifted his head, rubbing his cheek against hers affectionately. "That’s much better."
Adeline panted, trying to regain her composure. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to slap him or bury herself deeper into his warm embrace.
Still slumped against him, she mumbled, "I’m going to fucking kill you when I get my strength back. I swear."
Enzo’s brows shot up at the threat, and his hands returned to her ribs, his fingers twitching just slightly in warning. "Hmm... Seems like you want more."
Adeline let out a frantic gasp and immediately reached down, grabbing both of his wrists before he could start again, his fingers tightening around them as she shook her head violently. "No.... No more, or I’m going to pass out."
He laughed but obeyed, letting his hands fall back to rest comfortably on her waist. They stayed like that for a moment, the room settling into a calm silence.
Then, after a few seconds, Enzo spoke up. "You know, I was thinking... maybe we should actually go check out Vegas today."
"You know, actually do something for once that isn’t about finding someone or dodging death by your uncle. It could be fun. We can go meet the herbalist tomorrow. We’ve got time."
Adeline hesitated for a second, the idea settling in her mind. Ever since the will was read, she couldn’t remember the last time she went out just for fun—without it ending in chaos.
The first time she had gone out with Evelyn, she had nearly gotten murdered. The second time, Evelyn had gotten kidnapped... and she had almost gotten murdered again.
Enzo was always a fun person to be around, even though he was annoying most of the time. Going out with him, now that they were more than just fake partners, actually sounded good. Besides, if anything were to happen, he would definitely protect her.
She pulled back to meet his gaze, intending to simply answer him. But the second their eyes met, her thoughts came to a halt.
Damn. This man was fine.
Without thinking, she reached out, brushing back a few strands of his dark hair that had fallen over one of his eyes. Her fingertips barely grazed his forehead, yet even that small touch sent an unexpected thrill down her spine. He didn’t flinch or pull away, just smirked as he watched her, enjoying her touch.
She swallowed, forcing herself to focus. "Yeah," she murmured, nodding subtly. "Let’s go check out Vegas."
Satisfied by her answer, Enzo winked at her, and just like that, her stomach flipped, and suddenly, it felt like her entire face was on fire. A wildfire of heat rushed to her cheeks.
Desperate to hide her reaction, she let out a small, muffled groan and dropped her head forward, burying her face against his bare pecs.
"What’s wrong with you?" Enzo asked with a chuckle, his chest rumbling beneath her.
Still refusing to look at him, she mumbled against his skin, "Did you do something to your face this morning?"
Enzo raised an eyebrow. "What? No." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"You look..." she hesitated, groaning internally before forcing the words out. "You look more handsome."
The moment the words left her mouth, she cringed so hard she wanted to disappear. She shot her index finger up, as if trying to ward off any smartass remarks from him. "It’s just an observation. Not a compliment."
Enzo’s hands moved to cup her cheeks, gently tilting her head back up to meet his gaze. His palms were warm, his touch both firm and gentle as he studied her with an infuriating, knowing look.
"Observation, huh? Yeah, sure."
