Yu Hua felt how the air was pressed out of his lungs when something coiled around his body like a vice.

With his free arm, he took a yellow colored plant out of his storage and ate it. Immediately, the feeling of oppression from lack of air waned. Bubbles still rising to the surface as he channeled spirit power.

He looked downwards and saw a giant rose colored anemone, her long tentacles reaching far and growing over the ground.

It must have sook him out following the fishes.

Yu Hua stopped resistance, which would waste power, and he needed to be close for any of his weapons to work underwater.

So he waited, paying attention that one arm of his remained free while the rest of his body was being wrapped up. As soon as he was within reach, he took out an iron spear from his storage.

Gritting his teeth, he plunged it down right into the anemone's body.

The animal screeched, and he started to cut himself free with a knife. The spear was locked in its body.

For a moment, he contemplated. But he didn't want to kill it, nor did he know if he needed the spear again.

So he retrieved it. Translucent blood flows from the injury. The anemone covered it with her tentacles.

Yu Hua swam; this was no life-threatening injury for it. Looking cautiously at his body, he grimaced. There would be a lot of bruises on him once he was out here.

He looked upwards. The water surface was not too far away. But he would stay down for a bit until the oxygen plant's effects wore off. Swimming forward, he dodged the normal, less dangerous animals. He made his way through a rock formation, his eyes firmly into the distance and his direction. Eventually, he needed to ascend again, and the air filling his lungs was a welcome relief.

He floated a minute and looked back to orientate himself how far he had come. Gritting his teeth, he continued to swim when he saw a fin rise from the waves of the open sea. He cast a cautious glance at it, then he took out a larger knife and put it into his mouth before he continued, keeping an eye on the fin.

Then, he was rammed from the side and catapulted out of the water. A Shark, not a great white one, but still a Shark. He bit down on his knife and then twisted mid-air. Releasing his petals and setting them aflame into the shark's face while out of water. His body hit the water hard; it hurt, and he drew the knife when the shark attacked again; he raised it and then thundered it down.

It was swiftly avoided; he cussed when the shark went underwater.

He took out another of the plants and ate it before diving down and staring right at the teeth aiming for him. He kicked his leg and avoided his hair's breadth, letting out a cry when it still got a good hit on his leg. Gripping his knife tighter, he thundered it down into the shark flanks and let go. He had enough knives to last him for a while.

The shark twisted and then attacked again. This time, Tough Yu Hua had an advantage. Summoning another knife, he twisted it using his spirit power for a short moment until he was above it. He thundered it down into the Sharks' back as a devil's idea dawned upon him.

He summoned a rope and then climbed forward, tying it around the shark's snout.

Work efficiently, not hard.

He thought when he tied it with one hand and his teeth. Then he hooked a second and third rope on each side and grabbed them. Pulling on one side, the shark swam into it, trying to get Yu Hua, who was holding on for his dear life. He grabbed the second rope, feeling his skin rip as he held on and gritted his teeth, getting on his knees against the resistance of water and the blazing speed.

Come on. Work

He looked around, orienting himself to determine the top and bottom, and then pulled upwards. The shark went. Yu Hua almost let out a scream of victory as he hit the water's surface and orientated himself again. They had drifted off a lot from the original course. Straining his muscles, he pulled again. The skin rips and blood drops down his arm. He directed the shark and kept him upside down.

The water hit his face as he moved far faster than before to his goal. His unwilling ride tried to get rid of him by twisting and doing whatever it could think of.

But Yu Hua knew he had let go. He was dead meat, so he held on.

The two of them cut further through the waves as his goal came closer, and the harder the shark pulled, the more weight Yu Hua had to put against it. His arms were straining beneath the force.

Then the shark beneath him stopped, and he let out a cry, flying forward. Grabbing a knife, he hit the water and then found himself in confrontation with a now even angrier shark, but this time, the thing could not bite him. He grabbed the knife and then stabbed it into his side. Wrestling with it as the coppery scent of shark blood spread through the water.

Yu Hua was struggling for his life when the shark finally sank to the ground. At the same time, he felt his spirit power hit the bottleneck, the one he needed to pass through level thirty. He gulped and then saw the purple ring float from the shark. He had no idea what would come out of it, but the currents had not come yet, and it was still early.

He swallowed another plant for breathing and then settled down, absorbing the ring. Feeling the power seep into his body. He was well-trained, and he knew he had fought well. It should not take too long, and more power would be what he needed to go further.

What he did not know was the purple halo surrounding him was visible even from the distance.

Hai Long let out a barking laugh when he saw Yu Hua riding a Shark.

"Well, that's new. I think I am starting to understand why the ocean god gave the young man such a harsh trial. He is inventive and well prepared."

"Nothing if not creative about fighting," Jiang noted. "I think I do not know a single spirit master who drives home the points of precision and speed as much as he does. The only one I can think of is Zhu Zhuquing, and she has a different approach to it."

"Well, he always did have to make up for most we lacked back in elementary school and came up with the most nuts plans; shark riding does not surprise me. But is that purple sheen?" She asked, and Hai Long nodded in agreement.

"He was at a bottleneck for a while now. I am not surprised the fight catalyzed a breakthrough, though it's daring he is absorbing it now."

"The extra power," Jiang said, and Yin nodded. That would be her first thought, too.

"No use if it takes too long." Hai Long countered as the time passed.

"Normally yes. But Yu Hua is fast." Tang Yin muttered. Then she saw her friend again. It was almost midway, and he still had the last third and most dangerous part to finish.
