"Better than ever!" he sighed dropping a kiss on my forehead "The legal team is meeting already and I came to fetch you. Are you ready?" he asked.

Thankfully, I had anticipated that there would be a meeting today and had gotten up on time to do my hair and makeup. Also, I tried calling Xavier but there was no response. He wasn’t taking or returning my calls and I was bothered.

"Is something wrong?" Noah must have noticed the worry on my brow. "Are you anxious about anything? Don’t worry, about yesterday I can easily handle the situation because I am still mistrustful of my father. The sudden change is something to worry about. So, I would first of all analyze the situation and know the best way to respond,".

He was indirectly telling me not to say a word and I was fine with it. I’ve caused too many problems already, so I understand his reserve. "Yeah, she did yesterday and I told her to put everything on hold now. I also asked if she could initiate a refund since I’m not sure we’ll be able to finish up with the counselling sessions but she says she doesn’t give a refund and I spent a lot of money to bring her here. I can’t let it go...So, we’ll continue when things ease up on our end and she seems to be enjoying the pack too,".

"Really?" I arched my brow "It’s not a good idea, Noah. A lot of things are happening right now and the last thing you want to have is a foreigner on our soil knowing our business. She might want to tell...not intentionally thought but you know how easy it is to always want to share everything happening with your favorite person. She might do that to her mate, sister or even a friend. We cannot risk a weak link,".

"Splendid, Selene!" he nodded his head in agreement, a pleased look on his face "Is this my wife? Why are you sounding more political than me? I love it so much dear and I know I made the right choice by opening the office of the Luna. Anyways, what do you think I should do now?"

"Let her go back to her pack by tomorrow and we will reschedule when we have the time for it. It’s pretty easy and it’ll not put us under pressure. Therapy shouldn’t be done when we are so vulnerable,".

"I agree with you. After our meeting here, I’ll let her know. Thank you for calling my attention to it. Let’s go in before they start wondering where we are,".

Hand in hand, we walked into the hall. The Grand Lycan was the first person on his feet, followed by the indicted Pack Elders and Officials and then the legal team. When we settled on our seats, I leaned forward to greet Leonard.

"Good morning, Your Majesty, did you sleep well?" I asked.

"Sure thing, Luna," he returned with a pleasant smile "You look dazzling this morning," he added getting a scoff from Nora who was sitting beside her father refusing to look in my direction.

"Thank you," I smiled "I hope you had a splendid night, Nora," I decided to annoy her more.

"I didn’t," she replied coldly "But I’m sure you slept like a baby considering all the skeletons in your cupboards,".

"Enough!" the Grand Lycan cautioned staring at her silently. "Behave yourself and respect your Luna, else I’ll be forced to send you out of this meeting hall. Now apologize,".

I knew why Nora was prickly. More than anything, she wanted the Grand Lycan to expose me to the entire pack and tell them what I did but it seemed he wasn’t having it. The Grand Lycan would want to hold me to a point where I wouldn’t have an excuse and Noah wouldn’t be able to defend me but his daughter hated my guts so much and wished I was gone.

The secretary announced the reason we were there and asked that the person who initiated the reason should speak out and explain to the court how everything happened. Without wasting time, I recounted yesterday’s story and then presented the legal team with the documents to back up everything I was saying. At this initial stage and what we call hearing, the accused would stand before the Legal team that would in turn determine if the case is worth hearing or if it’s something that needs to be closed at this stage.

After I was done explaining, the Grand Lycan raised his hand to speak then he was given the floor. "First, I want to appreciate the Luna for bringing to book more than a decade of corruption in our pack. The Luna has made a lot of claims with documented hard evidence to back up these claims. What I want the legal team to do right now is to strip them all of their right before they’re made to go for their second hearing. It will also allow the law to take its full course without fear nor favour,".

"We could easily deliver judgment here," the head of the legal team stated

"That is not enough," The Grand Lycan shook his head in refusal "We’re talking about depriving people of a good living, and the good life because of selfish interests. So, in my opinion, they need to pass through the rigorous process of the law so that we won’t be accused of being impartial. Investigations will be redone to prove that everything the Luna has as evidence is true. And also, a ban on their assets, banks, properties and families. We should also keep them in our maximum holdings to ensure that they do not make contact with anyone,".

"Why is that?’ the Legal head asked.

"They’re all influential and at such a delicate time we shouldn’t allow them near the people or else they’ll cause rebellion. So, keeping them in confinements and making sure no person contacts them until the court is ready for the second hearing and investigations are conducted thoroughly," Noah piped in.

"The investigations could take weeks... or maybe months. These men are frail...". The Legal leader started saying.

"Your duty is to your pack first before family, Legal Leader," Noah rose to his feet looking at him sternly "I know your father is amongst the accused and you should watch it, we could link you to his abuse with the way you’re acting. I understand that they’re frail but yesterday, they threatened to have me replaced if I don’t dance to their tune. So, you must understand my sentiments and that of the Grand Lycan. The pack is yet to recover from a lot of things and we do not need this,".

"I took an oath to deliver justice, Your Majesty," the Legal leader started boldly "But one of the reasons why this is the first place you come to before meeting any other parts of the packed court is because of how we try to make things easy for defaulters. We enforce the law but we make it bearable. So, instead of confining them, how about a house arrest with security 24/7?"

"Didn’t you hear his Majesty?" The Grand Lycan’s eyes flashed with annoyance "We want to reduce their contact with anyone and you’re suggesting a house arrest. Maybe for them and their family but we are going to put them in our maximum holding cells until they’re ready for their second hearing,".

"I’m afraid, I cannot approve that," The legal leader said stubbornly checking his head. "And I cannot approve that their positions be stripped from them entirely. They will be suspended and in their place, we will appoint temporary placeholders and after this entire business is resolved, they’ll continue to function as usual,".

Noah chuckled and turned to his father who had a wide grin on his face. "Listen, Nate, right?" Noah arched his brow towards him "You’re making yourself more pathetic by doing this. We all know you’re trying to protect your father and everything we’ve said so far is not a suggestion,".

"We’re telling you what to do," The Grand Lycan finished up. "Ever heard of the power of the Lycan...well, I am going to invoke it today. First, you’re not fit to be a Legal Leader because you’re too emotional "And second, we are doing it our way. They will be confined and ready for the second hearing. Thank you,".
