The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 19 - 0: Venting Anger on Him
Chapter 19: Chapter 019: Venting Anger on Him
Adrian Desmond’s face stung where Sienna Johnson had clawed him. In the dark jungle, they couldn’t see each other’s faces clearly. Sienna mistook him for the villain trying to capture her and resisted with all her might.
At this moment, Sienna was desperate. She would rather perish with her presumed foe than be caught again.
"Mai, stop!"
With fierce desperation, Sienna bit down on Adrian Desmond’s shoulder. Cursing, Adrian Desmond delivered a light chop to the back of her neck. Only then did Sienna loosen her bite.
"Mai, it’s me. Adrian Desmond! Calm down!" Adrian Desmond said firmly.
In a state of high tension, it took Sienna a while to realize that the man who had grabbed her was not an enemy. "Adrian Desmond?"
Adrian Desmond touched his face, which stung a bit. His face was probably scratched. "I came to rescue you out of goodwill, and this is how you treat me?" he complained.
"Adrian Desmond..."
...
"Adrian Desmond..."
...
"Adrian Desmond..."
Upon hearing her repeat his name, as if she couldn’t believe he had come to save her, Adrian Desmond found it somewhat amusing. "Yes, it’s me, it’s me. Stop calling out. You’re not dreaming. I’ve come to save you," he said.
Sienna threw her arms around Adrian Desmond, choking with sobs. "Adrian Desmond, I’m so scared..." For the first time, she wasn’t pretending. She was genuinely terrified.
She knew how ruthless those men were and couldn’t bear to imagine her fate if they had managed to capture her again.
Adrian Desmond hadn’t expected this reaction from Sienna. Comforting her clumsily, he gently patted her back and reassured her softly, "It’s okay now. I’m here, aren’t I? They won’t dare to hurt you anymore."
"It’s all your fault!"
"What does this have to do with me?"
"I was living peacefully. If you hadn’t imprisoned me on that island and prevented me from going home, I wouldn’t have had to endure these horrifying experiences. Who on earth are you people?" Sienna accused, shifting her anger onto him.
"Imprisoned? So that’s how you viewed it? No wonder you were so adamant about escaping." Adrian Desmond finally understood.
"Yes, I want to escape! I want to go home; I want to see my dad. I miss Teddy... You’re a bastard, Adrian Desmond, it’s all your fault..." she cried.
"How about I take you home next year?" Adrian Desmond said, trying to console her.
Sienna wailed, saying stubbornly, "No! I want to go home now! I don’t want to stay in this terrible place or encounter those horrible people anymore."
Sienna was truly at her breaking point. If the world she used to live in was normal, then the world she found herself in now was utterly chaotic and dark.
"It’s not possible now. I still have some personal matters to deal with. Once those are handled, we’ll get married... I’ll dote on you and the child..."
"No, I don’t want to..."
As Sienna continued crying, her tears soaked Adrian Desmond’s chest, initially warm but eventually turning cold and sticking to his body uncomfortably.
"Stop crying. How can you have so many tears?"
"I’m going to cry!"
"Okay, go ahead and cry."
"WAAAH..."
Sienna’s loud wails echoed throughout the jungle, making Adrian Desmond’s ears buzz. He had never expected Sienna to have such a childish side. Surprisingly, Adrian Desmond found he quite liked it.
The others in the jungle also heard their conversation. Xavier Young teased, "Who would have thought that the Sixth Master could be so patient, even capable of coaxing women! Tsk tsk, the Sixth Master truly makes one see him in a new light!"
Tatu sneered, "Women shouldn’t be coddled. Look at her; she’s about to walk all over the Sixth Master."
"What do you know?" Xavier dismissed him. "That’s called chemistry! Sister-in-law might seem to have the Sixth Master under her thumb now, but once they’re in bed at night, who do you think is really on top?"
Tatu shot a glare at the flippant Xavier Young and didn’t deign to argue with him further.
SOB... SOB...
Adrian Desmond stopped trying to comfort Sienna and simply let her vent. Eventually, her crying subsided; she ran out of tears and was merely sobbing dryly. After a while, her sobs turned into hiccups in Adrian Desmond’s arms before she finally calmed down.
"Have you cried enough?" Adrian Desmond asked.
Finally calming down, Sienna nodded and said apologetically, "I’m sorry, I was being unreasonable earlier."
...
"Adrian Desmond, thank you for coming to rescue me," she said, her gratitude evident in her voice.
"I didn’t come to save you. I came to save my son."
Sienna’s body jolted. She wasn’t actually pregnant. Her lips moved, but she couldn’t summon the courage to speak the truth. For now, she could only take things one step at a time.
"Come, let me carry you."
Adrian Desmond crouched down. Sienna looked at his broad back, and considering her current physical condition, she obediently let Adrian Desmond carry her on his back.
But Adrian Desmond hadn’t forgotten about her escape attempt and lightly patted her bottom. "You drugged my men and killed my Tibetan Mastiff that I’d raised for many years. We will settle this when we get back."
"I just wanted to go home," she said quietly.
Sienna retracted her sharp claws and, like a little kitten, clung to Adrian Desmond as delicately as a kitten. She gripped his neck tightly, burying her face in the hollow of his neck. Her breath fanned across his neck, and his own breathing grew a little heavier.
"This isn’t Raelnia; it’s dangerous everywhere. Mai, your luck has never been good. The next time you plan to escape, make sure you think it through. I won’t always be this good-tempered and forgive your betrayal!" he warned sternly.
Sienna didn’t respond. Next time I try to escape, I won’t be so hasty, she thought. I must be thoroughly prepared.
"What are you thinking about?"
"I’m hungry."
Adrian Desmond glanced back at her, a smile playing on his lips. "You certainly don’t let things get to you, do you?"
Adrian Desmond carried Sienna out of the jungle. When they arrived at the car, Walter Klein and his men had completely subdued Charlie Parker and his group.
Approaching Adrian Desmond, Walter Klein reported, "...Sixth Master, how should we deal with them? Kill them all?"
Adrian Desmond put Sienna down and asked her, "How do you want to deal with them?"
Sienna then walked towards the unconscious women. Looking at Sienna, Little Ninth said, "Four of them overdosed on the drug and died." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
The four women lay stiff and rigid. Tonight’s moon was very round, its light illuminating their beautiful faces, lending them an eerie kind of beauty. Sienna, however, felt only sorrow. Thinking of the little girl who had died on the journey, a vast sense of desolation welled up within her.
She squatted down, looking at the four women whose bodies had already grown cold, and remained silent for a long moment.
Adrian Desmond approached her and said, "Mai, we should head home."
...
"Mai, what’s wrong?"
"They can’t return home anymore. How sad their families must be," Sienna murmured, as if to herself.
