Chapter 526: Chapter 527: Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in the Hospital

"Brother-in-law!" Samara cried out in pain.

"Sixth Master, what are you doing? You’re hurting her."

In Aaron Faber’s eyes, Samara was like a porcelain doll—fragile and easily broken with just a gentle touch. His heart ached with urgency. Impulsively, he wanted to step forward but was stopped by Adrian Desmond’s fierce gaze, so he stood still.

"Samara, let me tell you, if you only grow taller and don’t grow a brain, sooner or later, you’ll suffer a great loss. Do you know what usually happens to pretty girls in this kind of situation?"

Aaron Faber tried to stop him. "Sixth Master, enough! She’s still a child!"

"A child? Aaron Faber, do you ever treat her like a child? If you treated her like a child, you wouldn’t..."

He liked Samara and was willing to wait for her to grow up, for her to one day make him her husband. One day, he would confess his feelings to her, but definitely not now. Samara was still too young. If she found out he liked her, it would only scare her. She would become wary and distance herself from him.

"Sixth Master, enough! It’s all my fault today. I’m useless! I will deeply reflect on my mistakes today and make sure nothing like this ever happens again."

"Aaron Faber, I never knew you could be so useless, being bullied by a few punks to this extent! From now on, when you go out, don’t you dare say you’re one of Sixth Master’s men. I can’t afford that kind of embarrassment!"

Aaron Faber’s face turned red with shame.

"Come back with me!" Adrian Desmond said to Samara.

"Yes, Brother-in-law!"

Samara obediently followed Adrian Desmond, leaving Aaron Faber standing there alone. Aaron Faber punched a stone on the riverbank, his hand immediately scraping open and bleeding.

Aaron Faber, you useless wimp! You can’t even protect your own woman!

Inside the car, the atmosphere was oppressive, as if the air itself had ceased to flow.

Samara and Adrian Desmond sat in the back row. Adrian Desmond’s powerful aura filled the car with a dangerous tension, making Samara afraid to even breathe too loudly.

"Brother-in-law..." she called softly, then carefully raised her head, cautiously watching Adrian Desmond’s expression, terrified of accidentally angering him.

"Brother-in-law, please don’t be angry. I know I was wrong."

"I know you mean well, Brother-in-law... If you think it’s a good idea for me to have bodyguards, then I’ll have them..." Samara finally conceded to Adrian Desmond’s decision.

Adrian Desmond said to Brett Jacobs, "Brett, go and pick two people for Samara tomorrow."

"Yes, sir."

Samara, feeling a headache coming on, mustered her courage and asked, "Are there any female bodyguards around my age?"

Adrian Desmond’s cold eyes swept over her. Samara quickly lowered her head, not daring to meet his gaze.

"Forget it, never mind..." Samara said fearfully.

Adrian Desmond couldn’t bear to see her like this. He told Brett Jacobs, "Tomorrow, take Samara to the Cloudscape Security Company to choose her bodyguards. Choose female ones, on the younger side."

"Yes, sir."

"Thank you, Brother-in-law."

Samara finally broke into a brilliant smile. But seeing Adrian Desmond’s still stern expression, she quickly wiped the smile away, shrank back in her seat, and didn’t dare utter another word.

The car pulled up and stopped at the hospital entrance. Samara didn’t understand why they had stopped here. Weren’t they taking her to the Dragon Court Residence Complex?

Adrian Desmond got out of the car. Seeing Samara still sitting inside, he bent down and looked at her. "Get out!"

"Me?" She pointed at her own nose, her face a mask of bewilderment. "What am I going to the hospital for?"

"A check-up!"

"Who’s getting a check-up?"

"You!"

"But I’m not sick..."

"Get out!" Adrian Desmond commanded; he was not a patient man.

Samara didn’t dare disobey Adrian Desmond’s order. She obediently got out of the car and followed closely behind him.

Adrian Desmond took large strides. For every one of his steps, she had to take several just to keep up. With Adrian Desmond walking ahead, Samara practically had to jog to avoid falling behind.

Adrian Desmond took Samara to the obstetrics and gynecology department.

Brett Jacobs, a grown man, looked distinctly out of place registering amidst a crowd composed almost entirely of women.

Most of the women there were for prenatal check-ups. When they saw Adrian Desmond with a beautiful young girl who was obviously underage, their expressions turned judgmental, and their minds filled with malicious speculation.

Initially, everyone was intimidated by Adrian Desmond’s powerful aura, and no one dared to gossip openly. However, when Adrian Desmond stepped out for a cigarette, the women could no longer hold back and began to whisper amongst themselves.

These days, gossip came free of charge.

One woman said in a sharp voice, "Young girls these days are so reckless. A man offers them a few enticements, and they’re quick to accompany them for meals and share their beds..."

"Exactly. It’s always these young girls you see at the hospital for abortions nowadays."

"You’re not wrong there. Our neighbor’s daughter is only sixteen. She got pregnant, took abortion pills at home, and started hemorrhaging. Oh, you wouldn’t believe it, so much blood... It was terrifying!"

"Nowadays, for these girls, having an abortion is like catching a cold; they don’t take it seriously at all. When they grow up and find out they can’t have children, they’ll regret it bitterly then."

"That’s right. If they don’t respect themselves when they’re young, they’ll live to regret it."

After finishing his cigarette, Adrian Desmond called Sienna Johnson to briefly explain the situation. As he walked back, he overheard a group of women chattering incessantly. The moment they saw him reappear, they collectively fell silent.

"Go on, why did you stop talking?" Adrian Desmond sneered.

The crowd shivered. They weren’t sure if the hospital’s air conditioning was set too high, but it suddenly felt freezing.

Adrian Desmond walked over to Samara. He saw her idly picking at her fingers, completely unaffected by the women’s gossip.

It seemed his sister-in-law was too naive; she probably hadn’t even understood what those women were saying. He really didn’t like this kind of personality! He preferred Sienna Johnson’s type: beautiful, smart, cunning—fierce, ruthless, almost to the point of inhumanity!

"Number 18, Brett Jacobs!" A voice called out; Brett Jacobs had used his own name to register.

Adrian Desmond stood up and led Samara into the examination room.

Since Samara was clueless about such matters, Adrian Desmond accompanied her personally.

Adrian Desmond had Samara wait in the examination room while he spoke to the doctor. "Please give her a thorough check-up. See if she’s been... hurt..."

"..."

"She was accosted by a few punks, and it’s not appropriate for me to ask her directly. Please give her a complete physical examination."

The doctor understood Adrian Desmond’s meaning. "I understand. You can wait outside."

"Alright. Thank you."

Adrian Desmond turned and walked out. He suddenly sensed someone watching him. His sharp gaze swept across the area, and sure enough, he saw a young nurse secretly taking pictures of him with her phone. The nurse, startled at being caught red-handed, quickly turned and scurried away.

Brett Jacobs asked, "Sixth Master, should I go teach her a lesson?"
