Chapter 630: Chapter 671: Taming the Husband

Curly mistakenly thought her parents had left her behind to go out and have fun. In fact, Sienna Johnson and Adrian Desmond were staying home, carefully focusing on Sienna’s pregnancy. Sienna had been so frightened recently that she hadn’t even stepped out of their room; her meals were delivered directly there.

"What did Curly say?" Adrian asked.

"We still haven’t returned to the island, so your daughter thinks you’ve been taking me out to indulge in delicious food and drinks, leaving her behind and not caring about her," Sienna conveyed Curly’s meaning in the most straightforward way possible.

"When have I ever taken you out for delicious food and drinks without including her?"

Adrian was massaging Sienna’s legs. After a rough start to her pregnancy where she vomited everything, even water, Sienna had entered a phase of ravenous eating. Her belly grew rapidly, which worried Adrian. If it continued to grow at this rate, wouldn’t it burst?

Actually, Adrian didn’t particularly like children, nor did he prioritize sons over daughters. He had initially insisted on having a son because he didn’t know how to raise a daughter. Furthermore, he thought it might be better to have a male heir for his business. Later, he insisted on Sienna getting pregnant because she still wouldn’t forgive him, so he took a gamble.

After this pregnancy, Adrian decided he would absolutely not let this woman get pregnant again. She suffered, and so did he. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"What are you doing?"

"Texting Curly."

"What are you saying?"

"Asking for forgiveness!"

Adrian was speechless.

Having finished massaging Sienna’s legs, Adrian moved closer, trying to look at her text message. Sienna dodged him and glared. "What are you doing?"

"I want to see what you wrote so I can learn from it. Next time I make you angry, I can text you and ask for forgiveness too!" Sienna refused to let him look, but Adrian shamelessly leaned closer and eventually snatched her phone.

"If you want to look, take it outside. I’m going to sleep!"

Sienna was trying to kick him out. Adrian had already slept in the guest room for several days and was unwilling to spend another night alone. He wasn’t a bachelor; he had a wife. Why should he sleep alone?

"...I’ve already slept alone for three days," he said, taking her hand and playfully bending her fingers one by one, lingering and refusing to leave.

Sienna pulled her hand back and smiled at Adrian, but her smile made him uneasy. This woman was truly terrifying when she was angry.

"Sixth Master, you promised me you would sleep in the guest room until I forgave you." Sienna stuffed the pillow Adrian had just brought with him into his arms, effectively shutting down his excuse that he couldn’t sleep without his own pillow.

"Sixth Master, good night."

"I’ve deeply reflected on my mistake. Please forgive me this once," Adrian apologized readily, since there was no one around to witness his loss of face.

Sienna looked at the wound on his forehead. He had removed the bandage, thinking it marred his image. His hair wasn’t long, so the scar was fully exposed. Every time Sienna saw it, she couldn’t help but remember the danger of that day.

She couldn’t forgive him because she was so worried about him.

Sienna asked, "What was your mistake?"

"I won’t leave!" Adrian retorted. "This is my home, my room. I’ve slept in this room for so many years; why should I leave?" He returned the pillow to its place beside Sienna’s, put his hands behind his head, and lay down next to her, looking like a complete rascal. Luckily, no one saw him, or his subordinates would have been deeply embarrassed for their Sixth Master.

Sienna said nothing. She picked up her own pillow and started walking out. Adrian shot up and grabbed her arm. "Where are you going this late?"

"This is Sixth Master’s home. May I ask Sixth Master if I can sleep in your guest room?"

Adrian realized he had met his match. He hugged her and said, "You are the mistress of this house. You can sleep wherever you want."

"Since Sixth Master wants to sleep in this room, I’ll go to the guest room. Good night, Sixth Master!"

"Whatever you say my mistake is, that’s what it is!" Adrian declared.

Sienna’s smile vanished, her expression instantly changing. "Wrong answer! Continue reflecting. When you figure it out, then I’ll forgive you."

Adrian wasn’t a henpecked husband. He had humbled himself enough. They should each take a step back, give each other some face, and let it go. But this woman kept pushing, which was infuriating.

Adrian felt like he was going mad, and his fiery temper flared. He snatched the pillow from Sienna’s hands, threw it on the floor, and roared, "Sienna Johnson, are you ever going to stop? I’m being considerate because you’re pregnant, don’t think I’m afraid of you! I’m telling you, you’re my wife, and you have to sleep with me!"

Being yelled at by him, Sienna’s eyes reddened, and then she started hitting Adrian. Her ferocious demeanor genuinely scared him—not because he feared being injured by her, but because she was pregnant. Besides, Little Ninth had also warned him not to let her make any sudden movements. So, Adrian pulled her into a tight embrace, using his body to restrain her.

"I have a bad temper, so stop giving me the cold shoulder! If I did something wrong, you have to tell me! If you don’t say anything, how am I supposed to know why you’re angry? Just give it to me straight, what on earth are you angry about?"

Sienna glared at him fiercely, finally unleashing her pent-up anger. "Fine, I’ll tell you why I’m angry! I’m angry because I’m not in your heart, and neither is our child...!"

Adrian felt incredibly wronged, more grievously wronged than the legendary Dou E of Orienta. "Who told you that? My heart is full of you. Don’t you understand how I feel about you?"

"I don’t understand! All I know is that you feel guilty towards Melanie Carpenter, guilty towards your Uncle. Deep down, you think I’m unreasonable and not magnanimous. You think I should have agreed to let you marry Melanie Carpenter.

You think that if I had agreed to let you marry Melanie Carpenter, it would have fulfilled your filial piety and your sense of loyalty!

Everyone would be satisfied and happy!

All this tragedy is my fault!"

"I never thought that..." At least not now. Since it was in the past, it was best left unsaid.

"If you never thought that, then why did you just stand there and let your Uncle hit you?"

"Because he’s my Uncle!"

Sienna sneered. "Sixth Master, how filial of you. That day, if your Uncle had beaten you to death, you wouldn’t have resented him, would you?"

"My Uncle just struck me a few times with a cudgel; how could he have killed me? You’re underestimating me..." Adrian replied nonchalantly.
