The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!-Chapter 749: Ring Girl
[Haji’s Team: Hours Ago]
People’s inaudible roars echoed through the underground space where the illegal brawl was taking place. They cheered wildly—some with bills clamped between their fingers, others with cigarettes dangling from their lips. The audience shouted just as intensely as the match inside the large cage in the center.
Two fighters battled within it, both bleeding, their faces swollen as if stung by thousands of bees. And yet, they kept rising to their feet even after taking powerful blows.
"Oh, for fuck’s sake..." Chuck breathed out, his nervousness clear.
He glanced around before fixing his attention back on the fight. He gulped, his heart thudding.
Meanwhile, Scarlet stood behind him. Her face was painted in disguise, her hair hidden beneath a short wig to make her appear more masculine. They were tucked into a corner where fighters for the next round waited. From there, they had a clear view of everything.
"You’re alright," she muttered, scanning the area. "Just buy us enough time. Where in the world did he go?"
It was just Scarlet and Chuck now. Haji had come with them earlier, but he’d claimed he needed the bathroom. A signal that he was parting ways to find Vito.
Chuck ground his teeth, too preoccupied to wonder where Haji was. He winced as one fighter threw a straight jab to his opponent’s jaw.
The man was hurled against the cage, metal clanging loudly.
At the same time, the crowd’s roars grew even louder.
"Get him! Get him!"
That was all Chuck could hear. He looked up in disgust.
"Get him?" he murmured, eyes returning to the cage. Both fighters were already at their limits. That punch should’ve knocked the opponent out. Why were they still shouting?
The man still standing panted, blood dripping from his mouth. He looked exhausted, but the screams compelled him to move. He dragged himself toward his fallen opponent and dropped to his knees, reaching for the unconscious man to beat him further—for the audience’s sake.
But just as he flipped him over, the supposedly knocked-out fighter threw another punch, knocking the first man out cold.
In an instant, the tables turned. The one who had been down moments ago was now raining merciless blows onto his opponent’s head.
The audience erupted. The noise was so overwhelming it felt as though the entire underground arena shook.
"Damn." Chuck’s face twisted as referees finally rushed into the cage to stop the onslaught.
He watched as they dragged the beaten fighter away like an animal. The winning team carried their own fighter out as well—though he could barely stand. No one cared about their condition. No one cared if this had been their last match.
All anyone cared about was entertainment.
"Just like he said," Scarlet remarked as she stepped beside Chuck, keeping her voice low despite the deafening noise. "Fight till death."
Haji had briefed them about underground brawls like this. Every round was bloody. Most of the fighters were forced into it. It wasn’t about hatred or glory.
It was about survival.
Maybe even freedom, though that was rare. There was no way out of this.
"And to think they... used to fight here," she muttered, thinking of Haji and Lola, who had once lived this life.
From what they knew, Haji had been fighting in cages long before Lola. He had trained her. First for small, low-stakes brawls. Then, when she was ready, she entered cages like this one. Just as he once had.
"They really are treated like animals," Scarlet whispered, eyes sharp. She inhaled deeply and exhaled. "Don’t get thrashed too easily, Chuck. Give them a good show."
Chuck glared at her. "Easy for you to say," he hissed. "You’re not the one getting in there."
He glanced around and scoffed, rolling his shoulders. "That damn ugly better find what we’re looking for. Otherwise, he’s the one I’m killing tonight."
Just then, the announcer’s voice boomed through the arena. The restless crowd gradually quieted.
Scarlet tapped Chuck’s back and nudged him forward.
"It’s our turn," she murmured as the announcer introduced their side.
The crowd roared as a spotlight illuminated their corner. Chuck huffed and puffed on his way to the cage, pushing aside every other thought.
A good show.
"I can do this," he told himself. "This’ll be easy. I’ll thrash that guy until he gives up."
Scarlet followed him into the cage while Chuck put on a performance, arms raised as he paraded around to hype the crowd. She shook her head.
Is he getting carried away?
Chuck wasn’t their strongest fighter, but he wasn’t bad either. He excelled at long range. Against an amateur, he stood a chance.
But then, as he returned to their corner, the announcer introduced his opponent.
"An undefeated champion all the way from—"
Chuck and Scarlet frowned.
"Undefeated?" Chuck echoed.
"Champion?" Scarlet added.
A spotlight flashed onto the opposite corner. The moment the fighter stepped forward, the crowd went berserk. The cheers were so loud the cage vibrated.
"Uh... shit," Chuck muttered as the massive man entered the cage and stood before him. "He’s... huge."
Even Scarlet swallowed nervously. "Good luck."
"Fuck," he exhaled, heart sinking at the sight of the towering giant.
How was this fair? Every match they’d seen had evenly matched opponents—similar size, similar strength.
But this?
This wasn’t fair at all.
For a moment, Scarlet almost felt sorry for him. Still, she tapped his back and exited the cage, taking her position outside for the round breaks.
The referee gathered the fighters in the center, reciting rules that were rarely enforced. Once the briefing ended, they were sent back to their corners.
"Scarlet, fuck, he’s going to kill me," Chuck whispered frantically, leaning into the corner while she stood outside. "Raise the towel if it gets bad, alright? I don’t care what that guy’s doing—I’m not dying here."
She studied him and nodded, flinching as music blared and the crowd roared again.
"I will. But try to put up a good fight—"
"Scar." Chuck froze, staring ahead blankly. "Look."
Her brows knit together as she followed his gaze.
A woman walked around the cage holding a large placard with the number one on it. She wore little more than lingerie, moving gracefully, hips swaying with every step.
The crowd devoured her with their eyes. But it wasn’t her beauty that shocked Scarlet and Chuck.
It was the fact that they knew her.
"Yu..." Scarlet stammered. "Yu... ri?"
