Chapter 750: Not safe to talk here.

For a moment, the world seemed to slow for Chuck and Scarlet. Their eyes remained fixed on the beautiful ring girl as she smiled and waved the placard.

"That’s her, right?" Chuck muttered, leaning back toward Scarlet. "I’m not seeing things. That’s her. Yuri."

He gulped and held his breath when the ring girl turned and glanced in his direction. She didn’t seem to recognize him. She simply smiled before continuing on her way.

"I’ll follow her," Scarlet whispered, watching as Yuri exited through the opposite corner. "Good luck."

With that, she slipped out of the side of the ring and discreetly made her way around to follow Yuri.

"Hey—" Chuck hissed as he turned, only to find Scarlet already gone. "Fuck."

His breath hitched as he faced his massive opponent. He ground his teeth, realizing that without Scarlet, this would truly be a fight to the death. The match wouldn’t end unless one of them was beaten within an inch of their life.

Meanwhile, Scarlet excused herself as she moved through the crowd, heading straight for the corner where Yuri had exited. But just as she reached the entrance, someone blocked her path.

"Hey, you can’t go in there," the marshal said, eyeing the "small man" in front of him. "You should stay by your fighter’s side. This one? Off limits."

Scarlet opened and closed her mouth, pointing toward where Yuri had disappeared. "The ring girl—"

"If you’re interested in the ring girl, you can book her after the fight," the marshal interrupted. "Better yet, make sure your fighter wins. You might even get her for free as part of the prize. That can be arranged later, but you can’t get in here."

Scarlet’s eyes burned as she glared at him. Her hands curled into fists, but she forced herself to stay calm. She couldn’t afford to cause a scene. This was the only lead they got for Vito, and now, Yuri. There was so much to lose.

"I want her," she said evenly. "The ring girl from the first round. If my guy wins, send her to us."

The marshal nodded, though he didn’t look like he took her seriously.

Scarlet walked away, her mind racing. She returned to the corner where she and Chuck had waited earlier and tried to recall the vague layout of the place.

There had to be another way to reach Yuri.

Keeping her head down, she followed her instincts toward the other side of the arena. But just as she approached a corridor leading deeper inside, she stopped.

Two marshals guarded the entrance.

"Shit," she muttered, turning back. She didn’t go far, just enough to hide briefly around a corner.

She peeked and studied the marshals.

So that area’s guarded. That must be where everyone is.

The facilitators. The ring girls. All the behind-the-scenes staff of this underground brawl. It was the only entrance with security; everywhere else was wide open.

How was she supposed to get in?

She weighed her options. Forcing her way in would draw attention, and that was the last thing she wanted. They couldn’t risk alerting their target and giving them ideas of fleeing.

Then, a ridiculous idea crossed her mind.

Slowly, Scarlet looked down at the oversized clothes she wore to appear bulky.

"No way," she muttered, wincing.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, she exhaled sharply.

"Screw it."

Moments later...

Scarlet peeked her head out of the bathroom, checking if anyone was nearby. Once she was sure the coast was clear, she stepped out. The oversized clothes were gone. So were the fake mustache and wig.

Now, she wore nothing but her underwear.

It wasn’t identical to the ring girls’ outfits, but she had noticed earlier that not all of them wore the same thing.

"Hey, girl."

Her jaw tightened as she walked past a group of men who openly ogled her. Even those she passed would stop and turn, whistling. Fortunately, none of them had put their hands on her. That would be her breaking point.

Scarlet didn’t react to the eyes gawking at her or whistling, cat-calling her. She swallowed her anger and kept walking toward the guarded entrance.

This time, she approached confidently, stopping only a few steps away.

One marshal on the side looked her up and down, assessing her. Scarlet lifted her chin, prepared for questions. She had thought about it in case they asked who she was or what she was doing here.

To her surprise, he blinked dismissively.

"What are you standing there for?" he asked, jerking his head toward the corridor. "Go on before your manager drags you by the hair."

"Huh?" Scarlet blinked.

The marshals made no move to stop her.

They’re just... letting me in?

No questions about her bare feet? No makeup? Scarlet was in her undies, nothing else. Not even footwear.

Taking them at their word, she didn’t hesitate further. Holding her breath, she walked inside, ready to fight if necessary.

But the guards simply resumed their conversation.

Relief washed over her as she quickened her pace. The deeper she went, the more people she saw. Her fists clenched at her sides, her heart pounding.

"Hey!"

Scarlet froze at the sharp shout ahead. There, a short man—shorter than her—stormed toward her, face red with fury.

"Where have you been?!" he barked, grabbing her arm and dragging her along. "They’ve been waiting! Damn it, I knew I shouldn’t have trusted that bastard to send me girls!"

He glared at her. "Didn’t even bother putting makeup on you. That idiot! Come on—you need your face and hair done first!"

Scarlet resisted the urge to fight back when she noticed more girls ahead in the direction he was pulling her.

The man stopped outside a room and peeked in.

"Girls! Fix her!" he ordered before turning back to Scarlet. "When you’re done, get out there. Our guests are waiting."

Then he stormed off, yelling at someone else down the hall.

Scarlet just watched, almost astounded at how things were moving so fast and quickly. Then, she heard a familiar voice on her side.

"Get in."

Scarlet turned toward the doorway, and her breath caught.

The woman standing there was unmistakable.

"Yuri."

Yuri smiled, glanced down the corridor to make sure it was clear, then grabbed Scarlet’s arm and pulled her inside.

"Not safe to talk here."
