The Billionaire's Mischievous Sweetheart-Chapter 587 - 584: Then I’ll Go Singing with You
Zi Yunsui thought for a moment and then added, "Hua Xiaomo, I remember you’ve never heard me sing, but I sing really well. Do you want to listen?"
Hua Xiaomo saw how enthusiastic he was and didn’t feel like refusing him at that moment. After thinking about it, she said, "Alright then, I’ll go sing with you. But let’s not make it too late, because I really need to go back and check on Candy."
"Don’t worry, it won’t be too late. Besides, I have work tomorrow too!" Zi Yunsui said with a smile. Then, he and Hua Xiaomo went to a KTV next door and booked a private room.
The KTV private room was excellent. It didn’t just have one room but also a lounge area, equipped with everything one might need. More importantly, the sound system was superb. Colorful lights illuminated the space, momentarily bathing the private room in an air of mystery.
Their images began to appear on the huge screen.
Hua Xiaomo stared, then laughed at her own image on the screen. "Wow, I can see myself in here! It really feels like being on a stage."
Zi Yunsui looked at Hua Xiaomo and laughed as well, nodding as he said, "Actually, this is what I wanted to show you. It’s like a virtual stage. See? When we stand here, our images are projected onto that huge screen, as if we’re on a real stage with a massive audience watching us from below."
"And when we sing, it feels like we’re performing on a world stage for countless people. The feeling is absolutely incredible!" Zi Yunsui said with a smile, then picked up a microphone and passed one to Hua Xiaomo.
Accepting the microphone, Hua Xiaomo looked at Zi Yunsui with a smile, and soon they began to sing.
A lively atmosphere soon filled the room. They sang mostly love songs—some duets, some solos—taking turns.
After each song, virtual applause erupted from the ’audience’ on screen, boosting their spirits and making them even more enthusiastic.
After one song, an exhilarated Zi Yunsui poured two glasses of Lafite, one for himself and one for Hua Xiaomo. He handed hers over, saying, "Here, Xiao Mo, let’s drink and sing to our hearts’ content!"
Hua Xiaomo laughed, looked at Zi Yunsui, and accepted the glass of Lafite from his hand. "Thank you, Zi Yunsui."
Zi Yunsui just smiled without saying more. They started drinking and singing duets, and the feeling was genuinely wonderful.
The moment, however, also made Hua Xiaomo recall many of their shared memories, especially the hardships they faced when starting their business together.
Yes, back then, Hua Xiaomo was pregnant when she left America with Zi Yunsui for City B. It had been an incredibly difficult time. Hua Xiaomo hadn’t taken a single cent from the Qi Family, and Zi Yunsui didn’t have many savings either. So, they had rented an apartment and lived together—or rather, shared the place. Later, they started their own business. Zi Yunsui was a computer whiz, so he often spent his time developing games or taking on freelance game development projects for others. Hua Xiaomo witnessed all this and eventually joined in. Together, they founded a company and achieved great success in game development. It was a unique bond that only the two of them could truly understand.
They had both drunk quite a bit when Zi Yunsui looked at Hua Xiaomo and said with a smile, "I still remember those times so well. The time we spent sharing that apartment, that was truly wonderful!"
"You took care of Candy, while I focused on finding freelance work online to support you both. Life was tough back then, but those are some of my most cherished memories."
Hua Xiaomo smiled. As she listened, memories of the past resurfaced, as vivid as if they had happened only yesterday.
Those were indeed touching times. They had weathered storms together, and now they were partners in success, running their company side by side. It was a connection others could never comprehend.
Hua Xiaomo leaned back on the sofa, looking at him with a smile, yet unable to utter a word.
Noticing her glass was empty, Zi Yunsui picked up the Lafite bottle again and refilled it for her.
"Let’s drink to our heart’s content tonight! More wine!" Zi Yunsui said, happily moving to sit beside her.
He felt truly happy at that moment, finally able to sit and talk freely with Hua Xiaomo again. Such moments were rare indeed.
Perhaps after tonight, he wondered, would there be another chance for them to meet like this? After all, they both had their own separate lives now. How could they be as willful as they once were? It wasn’t that they were being willful back then; they simply interacted in the most straightforward way. Their relationship had been purely friendly. He didn’t know when or why the desire to take care of her and Candy had started to grow stronger within him, deepening once more. It made him truly want to give everything for her. Or perhaps he had uncontrollably fallen in love with her? It was hard to say.
Hua Xiaomo looked at Zi Yunsui and smiled faintly. Her eyes were a little hazy from the alcohol; she really felt she’d had too much.
Looking at him, Hua Xiaomo managed a smile and said, "I really can’t drink anymore; I’m almost drunk. Zi Yunsui, it’s touching that you remember the past so clearly. Actually, I’ve never forgotten those times either. They’re etched deeply in my memory."
"But I think dwelling on such memories makes it hard to move on to new relationships. So, perhaps it’s better to forget. Or, if not forget, then just keep them buried deep down and leave it at that." Hua Xiaomo trailed off, unsure what else to say. A faint light flickered in her amber eyes as she continued to smile at him.
While she continued to smile at him, he simply maintained his own smile.
She knew Zi Yunsui was a good man, a very good man, and she realized she was probably going to let him down.
"Is that what you really think?" Zi Yunsui asked, his voice earnest, a smile playing on his handsome face. "But if it weren’t for that car accident, if that accident hadn’t happened, I believe our relationship wouldn’t be like this now."
