The Black Shadow Soul Hunter-Chapter 56: Dinner Date (part-2)

Lee started with a light-hearted question about her love for vintage records, a shared passion discovered in their online exchanges.

"So, what kind of music do you prefer?"

"You like to listen to music, don't you?" I asked her...

"I tried to sing when I was too young, back in the days I was in high school, we had formed a mini band of ours, I even participated in my high school programs you know, but now a days I prefer to listening, not singing."

Lee loved what was she wearing. The slit gown made her legs even longer than they were. Her lips curved into a wry smile as she was talking.

"Some day, I might be lucky enough to hear you sing."

She looked at Lee with a curl in her lips she whispered in my ears, "You know what I only sing now a days in my shower!"- Then she began to laugh.

We both began to laugh hearing that.

"Well I really did not mean that... I have to very lucky then...." This girl looks even more prettier with her smile.

My heart was pounding heart. This was something very new to me. To be quiet honest, Lee had falling for her.

"Dr. Lily, Usually I thought you are quite reserved but I am really having great time to know you better"

"Oh, really?"

"Well dear, making myself opening up like this is also very new to me."

Looks like you the date was going smoothly. Lee began to think that you are quiet accustomed with these kinds of dating.

"Not surprising you are very handsome I must say Lee."- Dr. Lily said and she added-

"You know how a little girl always dreamt of doing lots of things as a child, but when you grew up dreams began to change and goals becomes to be clearer!

"So, since your child hood as you watched your father, he was your role model?"

"Yes, He was. My father was very honest and one of the most brilliant doctors in China."

"You know what, my mother is actually from Europe, she was born in Germany, in a research seminar they meet."

"So she was also a doctor?"

" No, not really, my mother was part of the event management."

"You know how a little girl always dreamt of doing lots of things as a child, but when you grew up dreams began to change and goals becomes to be clearer!

"My mother also has a great soul, she even came here settled down with my father as she love him very much, and specially he love him for his honesty and dedication,"

"My mother always wanted me to settle down with some guy but I find that I have a different purpose. I find person like you attractive for your soul and the purpose of life."

"I have a moto of mine: Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul".

With every word as she was speaking things she began to attract me even more towards her. Soon our gentle chatter of other diners created a cozy background hum. I wanted to make a natural conversation to calm up my nerves.

"Tell me more about yourself, Lee"- she asked Lee as she reached for his hands.

"I know it might sound bit crazy, but I believe that I have been sent in different dimensions to hunt down the demonic soul and create world peace with good soul."

"So what's about me Hunter?"

"Hunter?" Yes... Ruan calls you that... but tell me you find me attractive? Dr. Lily ask me looking at my eyes. Just like time froze for a moment and I could see that my heart was melting for her. So, I reached to take her hands in mine, gently kissed it and said,

"I believe you have the purest soul".

"Your heart is also pure."

"You know what Lee, we in the medical term really say that, The heart's main function is to pump oxygen and blood throughout the body, while removing waste products. It also controls the rate and rhythm of your heartbeat."

Dr. Lily tells me as her favorite student.

" You know what, If it is pure than your oxygen must not be contaminated and your blood will flow properly, so you will be health... but the most important thing is that you are host for good spirit and no bad soul will overcome your heart."

Probably she found it bit fishy as my compliment was for her was genuine, as she probably not heard for the first times.

But to surprise me she looked happy and she said, "Thank you" with a big smile.

"That why my heart also beats fast when you are close to me." She replied with affection in her eyes...

"looked as if when I am with you, I feel like butterfly is flying around me."

The waiter came back, taking their orders with a friendly nod. Lee opted for the classic steak, while Lily chose the vegetarian lasagna, a dish she'd been eyeing on the menu.

"So, you are a vegetarian right?"

"Well you can say that I love animals as much as love humans" She said with her pretty voice.

While they waited, they delved deeper, discussing their childhood memories, their career aspirations, and their favorite travel destinations. Each laugh shared, each thoughtful pause, felt like a step closer to a deeper connection.

When the food arrived, the plates were beautifully presented. As they savored their meals, the conversation flowed effortlessly.

"I have this passion for photography. You can say that I am an amateur photographer. l love taking pictures and capturing beautiful moments into frames."

Then she opened her purse and showed me few pictures she captured on her phone, capturing the beauty of everyday moments. Dr. Lily, touched by his artistic eye, told him about her love for painting, describing the vibrant colors she used to express her emotions on canvas.

As the evening progressed, they moved to the cozy corner of the restaurant, enjoying a shared dessert of chocolate lava cake. The conversation turned quieter, more intimate, as they shared their thoughts on life, their hopes and fears. They spoke about their families, their past relationships, and the things they were most proud of.
