The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 290: Can’t Help But Feel Possessive
Emily watched as her brothers hopped into their cars one by one and headed to the Alessandro mansion after dropping her off at the Sullivan Enterprise.
She could feel hundreds of eyes peeking at her from the building’s glass windows and once again she was embarrassed about her brothers’ overprotectiveness. After all, not all of them had to drop her off, one or two could have done the job just fine.
"They love making things harder for me, don’t they?" Kaiden asked as he moved to stand next to her, his hand immediately going to wrap around her waist as he pulled her closer to his side.
"Guess," Emily responded with a sweet smile as she turned to look at her mate who was shaking his head as if he was really done, both with her and her brothers. His reaction only made her smile bigger.
"Are we leaving now?" She asked as she noticed Secretary Kim driving Kaiden’s car to where they were standing in front of the company.
"Of course, I’m really looking forward to your very first visit to my pack house," Kaiden admitted as he gave a soft feathery kiss on the back of her fingers before taking hold of her hand in his palm.
"Same here," Emily admitted as she returned her attention to the black car that would be leading her to the Silver Moon Pack in no time. She had imagined this day many times, and every time she visualized her first visit in a much better and happier way. And finally, the imagination was about to turn into reality.
After spending the entire day of her birthday with her brothers and enjoying her time with them throughout the various activities they planned, she was now going to spend her evening with her mate at his pack house.
"Boss, here’s the key." Secretary Kim approached the pair and handed the car key to his boss. And gave a polite bow to Emily in greeting. "A very Happy Birthday to you, Ms. Alessandro. May all your wishes come true." The man wished Emily as he handed her a flower bouquet of lavenders that wasn’t there in his arms until just a moment ago.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Kim. I love these flowers." Emily thanked the man as she brushed her fingers against the flowers, the fragrance of lavender greeting her systems as she inhaled deeply.
"All my pleasure, Ms. Alessandro." Secretary Kim was just as humble and polite as he had always been towards her. Sometimes, she worried that Kaiden took advantage of the poor man to no end.
"Secretary Kim, it’s been a while. But look at you, still looking as handsome as the day we first met." Emily teased the man as she noticed how well dressed he looked as he was heading for a special event. But she wasn’t lying at all, Secretary Kim was really a good-looking man, and considering he was a shapeshifter, he hadn’t aged at all in the past several years, making him look just the same way as six years ago.
Secretary Kim appeared flustered as he responded with a bright smile, "You are flattering me, Ms. Alessandro. I’m just a normal guy."
"No need to be so humble. I’m just being honest." Emily didn’t allow the man to downplay himself.
"Ms. Alessandro... thank you. No one has ever praised me for my appearance this sincerely. It really means a lot." Secretary Kim was really touched by the look of sincerity in the Lady Boss’ eyes. She meant every word that she just said to him.
However, their sweet talk didn’t last long as the gruff sound of throat clearing pulled both of their attentions at Kaiden who had been silently listening to their exchanges all this while. The look on his face was hard to read but to Emily, it felt like he was upset about something.
"Don’t you have anything to do?" Kaiden’s words were directed at none other than Secretary Kim and the latter appeared to be totally horrified as if a sudden realization struck him. "Oh! I’ll take my leave now. Have a nice evening."
A sigh escaped Emily’s lips as she watched Secretary Kim hurrying away inside the company as if he was being chased by the devil himself. "What was that about?" She asked Kaiden but the man ignored her as he moved to open the passenger side door of the car for her.
Emily didn’t repeat her question and just moved to settle on her seat before Kaiden shut the door closed and moved to sit on the driver’s seat. She turned to put the bouquet safely on the back seat and as soon as she was done, Kaiden surprised her by kissing her all of a sudden.
"What are you doing?" She asked him and found him inching his face closer to hers all over again.
Kaiden only stopped just a breath away from her face as he replied, "Don’t go around praising other men, I can’t help but feel possessive."
"But Mr. Kim is.... mmph...!" Emily didn’t get the chance to defend herself and Secretary Kim because as soon as she started speaking, her lips got sealed in a powerful kiss, and this time, Kaiden didn’t pull away immediately. Instead, he took hold of her face in his palms and deepened the kiss.
Her body, heart, and soul, all surrendered immediately and she allowed herself to enjoy the moment. By the time they pulled away, both of them were out of breath.
"I love you, Angel." Kaiden suddenly confessed as he looked at her with warmth, love, adoration, and passion-filled eyes. How could Emily not melt under his gaze?
"Of course, you do." She stated as she fixed her seatbelt and watched Kaiden doing the same with a beautiful smile blooming on his face.
"Are you excited about our time together this evening?" He asked her as he took hold of one of her hands and brought it closer to his mouth to place a kiss against her knuckles. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"I am...!"
