The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 115: Starting to Pursue Her Today
"What do you want to do?"
Shawn Thorne approached Yelena Hughes step by step, "Why are you so afraid of me?"
Isn’t it because he’s a pervert?
"I’m afraid you’ll hurt me, afraid you’ve conspired with Miss Alden again."
As Yelena Hughes retreated, she stepped on a dry twig. The cracking sound reached her ears, and she stopped backing away, just standing there firmly.
The light shining down through the trees illuminated Shawn Thorne’s eyes brightly, "Yelena Hughes, try dating me."
"What?" Yelena’s voice rose in shock.
"Date me."
She looked at him as if he were crazy, "Master Thorne, are you playing tricks on me?"
"No, I’m serious."
Shawn Thorne had always thought Yelena Hughes, with her fair skin and beautiful looks, would be quite an experience to sleep with.
So he suppressed her, humiliated her, but Yelena Hughes was like a crushed wildflower—give her a bit of sunshine, and she’d come back to life.
He admired her resilience.
"When you jumped out of the room that time, I’ve never been so panicked."
"No, you panicked because you were afraid I’d die, causing a fatal incident."
Shawn Thorne knew the truth himself—it wasn’t like that, "Yelena Hughes, don’t fall for Jasper Yale. He’ll never let go of Nancy Alden for his entire life. If you fall for him, you’ll suffer greatly."
Yelena Hughes stumbled, eager to deny, "Why are you dragging him into this?"
"Do you believe that even if I told him you’re in danger, as long as Nancy Alden tells him not to save you, he’d still stand by and do nothing?"
Yelena Hughes never doubted this point.
She didn’t even realize that her fingers hanging by her side were quietly clenching.
"So what?"
"Don’t waste your time on a man who’s just toying with you."
Yelena really wanted to say, who does he think he is?
Jasper Yale’s car drove up to Veridian. Although he usually didn’t hang out with Shawn Thorne, he knew this spot.
Hailey Jenkins stared into the distance until she saw Yelena Hughes up ahead.
"Young Master, Miss Hughes is indeed here."
The driver sped up. There were other people playing on the vast plaza.
The car sped toward them as per Jasper’s instruction, and the driver didn’t dare stop without his orders.
The wheels rolled over gravel, bumping several times before steadying in front of the two.
Jasper stayed in the car without getting out, while Hailey lowered the window and called out to Yelena Hughes, "Miss Hughes, get in the car."
Shawn Thorne grabbed her arm, bent down, and whispered in her ear, "I’ll help you test his true feelings."
"I don’t need it."
What merit does Yelena Hughes have to occupy even a small space in Jasper’s heart?
Jasper couldn’t hear what the two were saying, but seeing that Yelena wasn’t coming over, he clearly showed impatience.
"See, the fact that he didn’t even get out of the car shows he doesn’t care about you at all."
Yelena wanted to go over but was held tightly by Shawn, "I’ll take you home later, don’t go with him."
Jasper waited in the car, each second ticking by tormentingly.
Yelena saw the back seat door being pushed open from inside. The man, dignified as always, had his stern features entirely unafflicted by the light trickling through the branches.
He walked forward a couple of steps, his tone commanding and displeased, "Yelena Hughes, come here!"
She wanted to move forward, yet Shawn wouldn’t let her go.
"Young Master, I’m pursuing Yelena Hughes, just waiting for her to nod. Don’t ruin my plans, please."
"The Thorne Family has already agreed that if you trouble her again, your grandfather will personally intervene."
"Don’t use my grandfather against me. I’m not causing trouble; I want her to be my woman."
Jasper lifted his leg, the sole of his shoe grinding against small stones, imagining it was Shawn’s head being ground down.
He moved forward, Shawn pulled Yelena back, and behind them was a slope.
"Don’t come any closer, Young Master. Aren’t you going back to accompany Nancy Alden late at night instead of meddling with my love life?"
"Even if you have it in mind, shouldn’t you ask her if she’s willing to date you?"
Shawn’s lips curled into a smile as he gazed at Yelena’s profile, "Do you want to date me, Young Master?"
"Master Thorne, you should let go."
"We all want to hear the truth from you." Shawn whispered, his lips nearly brushing Yelena’s ear, "Say you don’t want to, and watch his reaction."
Yelena met Jasper’s gaze. They weren’t far apart, so they could clearly see those subtle expressions on each other’s faces.
Yet she wouldn’t comply with Shawn’s wishes.
"I’d like to be with Young Master, but alas, he ignores me."
Shawn suddenly heard rapid footsteps coming over, and when he came to his senses, Jasper was already standing before him.
He grabbed Yelena’s other arm. Seeing that Shawn wouldn’t let go, he gave him a shove on the shoulder.
Shawn lost his grip, fell back, and Yelena was pulled to Jasper’s side, frightened.
The man struggled a bit but managed to stabilize himself.
He glanced back at the slope, thinking if he fell down there, even if he wouldn’t be reduced to bones, the chances of surviving were slim.
Yelena’s face turned pale, almost having witnessed a life lost.
She looked at Jasper beside her. Not a hint of fear lingered in his expression, not even a crease.
Shawn broke into a cold sweat, "You’re trying to get me killed!"
"If you really broke your limbs, I’d compensate you for it."
"Do you think I care about your medical expenses?"
Jasper brought Yelena to the car, his shadow cast against the vehicle. He instructed Hailey.
"Her colleague reported to the police earlier. Now that we’ve found her, let’s not make them come for no reason."
"Yes, Young Master."
Jasper’s attention returned to Yelena Hughes as he took off his coat and handed it to her.
Yelena hesitated as she accepted it, watching Jasper turn away.
"Master Thorne, how about a round?"
Shawn, wearing his professional motorcycle gear, responded to Jasper’s invitation with a raise of his eyebrow, "Alright, if Young Master wants to play, I’ll risk my life to accompany you."
Hailey immediately opened the car door, evidently frightened.
"Young Master, please reconsider."
Veridian is all wild roads; even the most professional bikers are prone to accidents here, especially at night.
If anything were to happen, any injury or crash, he’d have a hard time explaining to the Yale Family.
Jasper loosened his tie and handed it to Yelena Hughes.
She felt uneasy and wanted to stop him, "Don’t go."
