The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 117: Young Master, You’re Truly a Good Person
"If you’re cold, you can turn the heat up a bit more."
Jasper Yale gazed at her with that half-smiling, half-teasing look. "What’s the point?"
He raised his hand, Yelena Hughes saw his fingers reach toward her. She grabbed hold of them—they were icy.
Her hands were so warm, the warmth seeped up through Jasper’s fingertips.
He still felt that this wasn’t nearly enough.
Jasper slid his arm around Yelena’s waist, lifting her onto his lap. His palm slipped inside her shirt, pressed firmly to her skin, scorching hot.
But to Yelena, it felt like a chunk of ice pressed tight against her, the chill so sharp it made her scream.
"No—stop! That’s way too cold!"
Jasper’s palm glided over her side waist, slipping around to her front, then up...
This was the warmest thing for his hands.
The man’s chin rested on Yelena’s shoulder, his stiff fingers regaining feeling instantly. "Comfortable."
But Yelena shivered with the cold, Jasper was way too much—his other hand joined in, slipping inside too.
He was all cozy and warm, while Yelena huddled up, shivering.
"Just now, Shawn Thorne said you should think about it. Guess he’s still not giving up."
"Master Thorne said he won’t make things hard for me in the future, but he wants to chase me."
Hailey Jenkins accidentally looked up, his eyes catching the rearview mirror.
The cool, aloof little boss of his, with both hands under Yelena’s clothes—whenever he touched this woman, Hailey felt like Jasper just radiated a certain...
Sexiness.
He swallowed hard, not daring to look closer.
"So what do you think, Shawn Thorne’s after you?"
"Didn’t I say? I’ll report him."
Jasper figured that with Yelena having this kind of awareness, not bad at all.
"I’m taking you somewhere."
It was late at night. Yelena just wanted to go home. She hugged her belly softly, "I’m not feeling so well. Boss, I probably can’t keep you company tonight—it’s that special time for me."
Jasper’s fingers caressed Yelena’s waist, but didn’t slip into her pants.
"How do I know you’re not lying?"
"I swear, my stomach still hurts."
Jasper shot her a sidelong look, studying her face. He withdrew his hand, placing it over Yelena’s belly, just through her shirt.
Instead of heading to Jasper’s place, the car drove into a strictly guarded location.
At the gate, two rows of security guards lined up, all young and strong.
"Where is this?"
Yelena’s eyes were covered by a hand. The place had to be huge—the car kept driving for a while before finally parking.
"Get out."
Jasper still didn’t let go. She had to feel her way to the car door, one foot on the ground before Jasper pushed her forward.
When he let go, Yelena saw large trucks parked side by side; every truck was white, and workers were busy loading goods onto them.
Yelena was a bit confused. "This is...?"
"Tonight, Heart Protection Peace starts shipping. All those trucks are loaded with medicine."
Yelena walked forward a few steps, then turned around, her face beaming. "So for my next batch of meds, I can just pick them up at the hospital, right?"
"Yup."
Yelena grinned carefree, her eyebrows flying high. She was always a pretty reserved person, but right now she was genuinely happy.
"Boss, can I record a video? Just a few seconds."
"What for?"
Yelena dug out a different work phone. "We’ve got a patient group chat, lots of people like Anne in there. I want to share the good news."
Jasper seemed to catch the contagious good mood too.
He nodded. "Sure."
Yelena opened the WhatsApp group, aiming her camera at those trucks. "Guys, check it out! All these are loaded with medicine. You’ll all get better soon, we’ll have normal lives and laugh out loud again."
Jasper took a few steps forward, stopping beside Yelena.
With his eyes downcast, he glanced at the chat—lots of group members, all the stickers about celebrating, full of joy.
Someone was even saying things like "life-saving parents," burned so much incense, finally paying off.
Yelena tipped her little face up, her voice laughing. "Boss, you’re a really good guy."
"Heh, I’m a businessman."
Business is business, profit comes first.
Yelena didn’t deny it. "Anyone who saves people from disaster is a good guy. This illness has crushed too many families—not just financially, but really, it’s the psychological breakdown that destroys people."
Jasper heard that, and his face seemed to glow.
"Thanks for the compliment."
"Honestly, boss, making medicine is saving lives. There are so, so many families behind you."
Yelena’s mouth tonight was coated with honey, Jasper really wanted a taste.
He took hold of Yelena’s chin. She knew exactly what that move meant.
Yelena hurriedly dodged, there were people everywhere here.
"Boss, let me treat you to dinner."
"Why?"
"Just to celebrate!"
Jasper fixed his gaze on her face. She seemed to forget how much he’d made things hard for her over a few boxes of medicine back then.
And because of those few boxes, she got tangled up with Nancy Alden and ended up in The Sovereign Club.
The thing is, Yelena is someone who’s easily satisfied.
"So what do you want to treat me to?"
"Let’s make it clear, nothing too expensive—I only earn so much a month."
The evening breeze whisked past, making Yelena’s eyes sparkle. "Budget’s five hundred, tops."
Pfft.
"And what’s even worth eating for that?"
Seriously, capitalists never know what it’s like to freeze to death on the streets—five hundred for two is more than enough.
Yelena saw Jasper head back to the car, so she got in too.
Forget it, at least she could save some money.
"Boss, where to now?"
Hailey gestured for the driver to start up.
"Ask her."
Hailey turned to Yelena, and she quickly caught on—they were joining her for dinner?
Yelena hurried to check her phone, glad to see The Bellwether Crown’s group-buy deal was still running.
She showed Hailey the address. "Let’s go here."
"Good."
When they arrived, Jasper’s mood was decent enough. The hotel had both reputation and style—Yelena was putting out big bucks to treat him tonight.
But when they actually walked into the restaurant, Jasper realized this floor was for the buffet.
The server glanced at them. "Hello, did you make a reservation?"
"Nope."
"Then please come with me."
The server led them to a table in the center of the hall, surrounded by crowds all around.
Yelena even pulled out a chair for Jasper. "Sit, quick."
The guy’s face darkened a bit.
The server bowed, "Is this through a group-buy deal? I’ll need to verify the coupon code."
"Sure," Yelena quickly pulled out her phone.
"May I ask—is it the 199, or the 399 single-person buffet?"
Yelena replied, "The 199."
Jasper’s brow almost knotted up—there were choices, apparently, but Yelena wouldn’t even spend 399 on him.
