The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 124: The Doll and the Pile of Documents
"Are you okay, D?" J asked, his brown eyes reflecting a glint of concern as he forked his food. "You seem a little red."
To say that Eternity was ’a little red’ was an understatement. Her entire face had turned hot and crimson. If she were an anime character, steam would be visibly rising from her head.
She shook her head aggressively in denial. "I was just surprised by your question, that’s all."
J looked at her, confusion etched across his features, before realizing his poor choice of words.
"Oh, I didn’t mean it that way!" he clarified, sounding a bit embarrassed. "What I meant was, how was the experience of working under the supervision of the CEO himself?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"It’s fine," Eternity replied, her face slowly returning to its normal color. She tried her best to sound nonchalant to brush off their ridiculous misunderstanding. "I passed the coffee test, and I wasn’t fired on my first day at RBAB. So generally, I think my first day went great."
"The morning of your first day went great," he corrected with a grin. "The day is still not done, so it’s too early to say that."
She knitted her eyebrows together. "Are you implying that something bad will happen this afternoon?"
J shook his head. "Not necessarily, but I’m warning you to keep your guard up around Sir Holz. You know, because of what I’ve already told you."
’Evan really has a bad reputation around here,’ Eternity winced internally. ’So bad that even new hires have already heard the gossip about him.’
"Oh, look at the time!" J exclaimed loudly, his eyes darting to his wristwatch while his hands placed the fork and spoon on the plate. "It’s already mid-lunch break."
Eternity glanced at her own smartwatch, a gift from Evan.
"12:43," the clock indicated.
"More than half an hour past noon, huh?" She muttered absently before realizing, "Wait, I’ve been gone for too long! Ev—Sir Holz must be getting impatient already!"
"Although it’s lunchtime," J said, looking at her worriedly, "since your boss is the CEO, I guess you’re obligated to go back."
Eternity nodded with a smile, appreciating J’s understanding.
"I’ll see you around, J," she said, waving her right hand as her left grabbed her plate and eating utensils to throw in the nearest trash can.
"See you," he replied. "Oh, and before I forget, let’s continue eating lunch together when you have the time!"
"Sure, I would love that!" Eternity replied enthusiastically.
Too bad she probably wouldn’t be able to fulfill her promise; she doesn’t even eat in the first place.

When Eternity returned to her table, she found a towering pile of papers stacked neatly on top of it.
How she had missed such an obvious eyesore on her way out of the CEO’s office was a mystery.
"These must be the papers Mrs. Abel was referring to," Eternity muttered to herself.
"They are," came a voice from behind her.
Startled, she quickly spun around, ready to defend herself, only to see Jakob struggling with an even higher stack of papers. The pile was so tall it nearly reached his chin.
"Let me help you," Eternity offered, but Jakob shook his head.
"There’s no need, Miss Doll," he replied immediately. "What kind of gentleman would I be if I let a young lady like yourself carry such a heavy load of documents?"
"I insist," she said firmly, taking half of the documents from his hands in one quick motion. "I assume we’re handing these to Sir Holz?" She asked with a clear voice, lacking any indication that she found the stack heavy.
Jakob nodded, appearing surprised by her sudden strength. "And those as well," he added, nodding towards the files Mrs. Abel had brought earlier. "But seriously, you don’t need to—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Eternity swiftly stacked the documents she had taken from him on top of the files already on her table.
Jakob’s eyes widened in disbelief as he watched her effortlessly handle the massive load. Eternity gave him a small smile, feeling quite proud of herself for taking Jakob aback with her sheer strength.
"Let’s get these to Sir Holz," she said, as if lifting such a heavy burden was the easiest thing in the world. "Though could you be a dear for me and open the door? I don’t think I can with all of these occupying my hands."
Jakob, still astonished, could only nod as he went to the door to knock. Once they heard Evan reply with a ’come in’, Jakob pushed the door open for her, and they went inside.

"Good noon, Sir Holz!" Eternity greeted as she waltzed into Evan’s office. "Here are the documents you were requesting."
Evan looked up from his work, only to barely see her bright green eyes over the towering stack of papers she carried.
"Where should I place this?" she asked, her voice slightly muffled by the mountain of documents.
"On my table," Evan replied tersely, his gaze following her movements.
"Yes, sir!" Eternity exclaimed, carefully setting the stack down on the flat surface of his desk. The papers landed with a soft rattling sound, indicating how heavy they were.
Evan raised an eyebrow, almost not noticing Jakob trailing behind her, who had his head lowered and was already expecting a reprimand.
"Why did you make the new hire carry all these papers, Mister Schmidt?" Evan’s voice was sharp, causing Jakob to flinch, his face turning pale.
Although they weren’t particularly close, Evan called him by his first name when they were alone or when only a few people were present. Using "Mister Schmidt" signaled that Evan was annoyed.
"We don’t want our new secretary to quit just because her workmates aren’t giving her a helping hand!" Evan continued, his tone growing harsher.
First, Evan knew that what he said was pure bullshit.
He was aware that it was usually his fault why the secretaries resigned from their posts, causing the position to be vacant for the longest time, and not because of unhelpful colleagues.
Second, he didn’t actually care if his secretary was carrying a tower of documents or a ten-wheeler truck. He didn’t believe in the "basic" etiquette of helping women carry things because, in the first place, they wouldn’t be carrying it if they were incapable of doing so, right?
But this time, his secretary was Eternity. Even if he was fully aware that carrying all these documents was barely even an effort for her, it left a sour taste in his mouth knowing that Jakob was making her life difficult on her first day of her job.
"Oh, no worries, sir!" Eternity interjected quickly, her voice warm and reassuring. "I was the one who insisted on carrying all these papers."
Jakob’s eyes snapped toward her, surprise evident on his face. He hadn’t expected her to defend him.
Evan’s stern expression softened slightly as he shifted his gaze to Eternity.
"Is that so?" he asked, his voice losing some of its edge.
"Yes, sir," she replied confidently, standing tall despite the heavy load she had just carried. "I wanted to make sure everything got here quickly and efficiently."
Evan sighed, leaning back in his chair.
"Very well."
