The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 61: Doll’s Jealousy
After his encounter with his past love, Edelweiss Roth, Evan immediately headed home to where his present obsession was, Eternity Doll.
The set of keys jingled as he keyed the door to his apartment before he slowly went inside.
The room was dark since all the lights were off. Usually, if Eternity was lounging in the living room, she would stay on the sofa with the lights and their flat screen TV on, watching MeTube videos or whatever interesting thing she could get her hands on the internet.
Since both the lights and TV were off, Evan assumed that Eternity was probably inside her bedroom, "conserving energy," as she called it.
However, when he opened the lights, Evan almost got a heart attack.
"Christ’s sake, Eternity!" Evan clung his hands to his chest for dear life, as if this would help calm down the intense beating of his heart. "Why didn’t you say you were there?"
There she was, sitting on the sofa where she usually stayed, but with a cold, glassy look in her eyes.
She was wearing a plain white shirt and brown shorts, accompanied by her fluffy house slippers. Judging by her stiff posture, something was going on in her mind.
"Eternity?" He called her name uneasily, feeling the weird tension in the air the moment he got in the apartment. "Is something wrong?"
Eternity blinked, mechanically turning her head to look at him.
"Evan," she greeted, lacking the enthusiasm and affection she always used when she welcomed him home.
"Hey." He walked to the sofa and sat beside her, wrapping his arms around her small, frail body.
Surprisingly, Eternity scooted away from his touch.
Evan knitted his eyebrows together, pure confusion overwhelming him at her sudden coldness.
"Eternity?" he called out again cautiously.
"So," she drawled, but her tone suggested she was unamused. "You’re into redheads, I see."
Evan blinked blankly, not understanding what was happening or where this was coming from.
Seeing his clueless expression, Eternity clicked her tongue and stood up from her seat.
"Where are you going?" Evan asked.
But she didn’t answer.
Instead, she opened the TV, revealing the last MeTube video that she had just watched. Evan squinted, trying to make sense of the clickbait title of the video.
"I Fucked Up! I Accidentally Hit On The CEO’s Woman!"
The thumbnail featured John, the vlogger he saw earlier, and Edelweiss, with a posture that implied her irritation at being harassed just for Internet content.
"Wait, what—" Before Evan could even finish his sentence, Eternity played the video.
The video started with John introducing himself and a brief introduction to his content of traveling around the globe to search for beautiful local women.
After the introduction, John featured various women all over the city, hitting them on (specifically using the word ’rizz, whatever the hell that meant) and generally making women visibly uncomfortable with his antics.
Most of them were neutral with his approach towards them, some of them were very camera-friendly and acted as if they were meant to be featured on his channel, which prospered in the objectification of women, while this single woman didn’t pay him any attention at all.
It was Edelweiss.
There she was walking on the sidewalk, looking slightly disheveled because she just got mugged, and generally minding her own business when John approached her and started asking her invasive questions.
She completely ignored him and continued walking to her destination.
There was this thing with men, the more you ignore them, the more they will pester you.
John, being true to his nature and his inability to understand what getting the cold shoulder meant, followed her until they arrived near the Royal Blue building.
That was when Edelweiss finally acknowledged John and his cameraman, only for her to tell him to leave her alone and threaten that she’d call Evan Holz, the CEO of Royal Blue Alcohol and Beverages.
A few seconds later, Evan actually arrived, and Edelweiss wrapped her arms around him.
Evan didn’t get to see the next part of the video since Eternity paused it.
"Well?" she asked impatiently.
"What do you mean, ’Well’?" Evan scowled, crossing his arms together. "I just happened to pass by and saw an acquaintance getting harassed by a social media influencer—which you can see in the video yourself."
"Acquaintances don’t hug each other like that!" Eternity argued. "I might not know much about human social cues, but I at least know some irregularities when I see it!"
Evan groaned, scratching the side of his face in annoyance.
"Stop acting like a jealous girlfriend—" He paused as a realization struck him. "You’re jealous?"
Eternity’s glare deepened, but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she spun around, and her back was turned to him.
"Oh, Eternity," Evan said, standing up from the sofa, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Eternity tensed as she felt his warm skin against hers. She remained silent, refusing to meet his gaze.
"Eternity, there’s nothing to be jealous about," Evan insisted, his voice gentle. "Edelweiss was just my senior back in high school, and that hug was simply to shoo and scare the vlogger away."
Eternity finally turned to face him, and her eyes narrowed.
"But the way she clung to you, Evan," she said in a hurt voice, making him realize the extent of how deep this misunderstanding was. "It looked... intimate."
"It was the camera’s view that made it look that way." Evan explained, burying his face in the dip of her neck. "You know how the narratives change depending on what angle they want to portray."
Involuntarily, Eternity let out a gasp. He wasn’t sure if it was because his breath against her skin tickled her or because she was feeling pleasure from his actions.
Wanting to test out his theory, he began massaging her breasts over her clothes.
"Evan!" She said, irritation evident in her voice. "I’m trying to talk to you properly here!"
"And this is my way of making it up to you," Evan purred, slipping his hand underneath her shirt.
