The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 63: The Doll’s Boiling Blood--If She Had Blood
"Evan—Oh?" The woman began, but as soon as she realized that it was another person, and not Evan, who opened the door, her long lashes that were thickly coated by mascara fluttered. "Y-you must be Evan’s girlfriend!"
Even though her words were acknowledging Eternity’s position as Evan’s lover, for some reason, Eternity felt a strong sense of defensiveness and loathing towards this woman.
She immediately recognized who she was. This was the woman in the video—the same one who jumped at Evan, wrapping her arms around his neck as if they belonged there.
"How may I help you?" Eternity remained polite, even though it was taking all of her energy not to shove this woman off the railings of the apartment complex.
"Oh, sorry." She laughed wearily, seemingly taken aback by Eternity for some unknown reason. "I’m looking for Evan Holz."
Eternity tried her best not to scowl at the fact that this woman knew where Evan lived and even knew his specific room number. But judging from the older woman’s nervous expression, Eternity failed epically.
"He lives here..." Eternity replied quietly. "He’s currently in the shower, but I’ll go tell him that you’re here. You can come inside while you wait."
The woman nodded appreciatively as Eternity let her inside.
The redheaded lady’s gaze wandered around the hallway, while Eternity reluctantly closed the door behind her, feeling an unsettling combination of jealousy and annoyance boiling in her blood—if she had blood, in the first place.
"Please sit on the sofa," Eternity gestured at the furniture where they almost fucked earlier.
Thank goodness, Evan directed her to his room or else the living room would’ve smelled like sex right now.
The woman nodded and helped herself on the sofa.
"Please wait," Eternity said in a small voice. "I’ll go inform him of your visit."
The woman nodded with a bright lipstick-coated smile.
Eternity headed to the front of the bathroom, knocking on the door. She heard the shower being turned off.
"Evan," She called. "You have a guest."
"Who?" Evan’s voice echoed inside the bathroom.
"That woman on the video."
Eternity tried to sound as neutral as possible, but judging from Evan’s blank ’oh,’ she might’ve sounded accusing instead.
Without waiting for another word from Evan, she headed back to the living room where she saw the woman, annoyingly, still there on the sofa.
"It’s quite cozy in here." The woman said politely as her eyes scanned the room. "Evan has a good taste in decoration, doesn’t he?"
Eternity shot her a sharp look, her protective instincts flaring up.
"Yes, he does." Her voice was too high, too shrill, too tensed, for some reason. "Now, please wait quietly. He’ll be out soon."
She nodded, seemingly unfazed by Eternity’s curt response.
Eternity clenched her jaw, wondering why this woman’s presence riled her up so much.
It didn’t even take five minutes before the bathroom door opened, and Evan emerged, fully clothed with a towel slung over his shoulders.
He looked surprised to see the unexpected visitor, his eyebrows raised questioningly.
"Evan," She spoke first, greeting him.
"Ms. Roth," Evan greeted back, nodding in acknowledgment.
Edelweiss opened her mouth as if wanting to tell him to refer to her using her first name, but she immediately closed it. She might’ve noticed Eternity’s death glare at her.
Evan sat on the armchair beside the sofa, making sure to be polite enough to be near Edelweiss, but not close enough to tick off Eternity.
"So what do I owe you the pleasure?" Evan said, removing the towel from his shoulders. "Oh, I apologize for my appearance. I just got out of the shower." He apologized, though it seemed more like an afterthought.
"So I’ve been told." Edelweiss pursed her lips. "Will you kindly introduce me to your girlfriend, at least?"
"Ah, where are my manners!" Evan exclaimed. "Miss Roth, this is my girlfriend, Eternity Doll. Eternity, this is Miss Edelweiss Roth, my senior back in high school. She’s also a former classmate of Freiheit."
"Nice to meet you," Eternity lowered her head politely.
"The pleasure is mine." Edelweiss smiled. "And my, what a beautiful name you have!"
Eternity smiled back awkwardly. "My parents have an odd naming sense."
"So," Evan cleared his throat, redirecting the attention back to him before Edelweiss could ask more questions related to Eternity’s name. "May I ask the reason for your visit, Miss Roth?"
"Ah, yes," Edelweiss said, switching her weight to her other leg, crossing them. "I’m just here to pay back the money I owe you."
Evan’s blue eyes widened. "You already got your things back? That fast?"
"I apologize for interrupting," Eternity interjected. "but may I ask what drink would you prefer—juice or tea?"
"Tea would be lovely," Edelweiss replied.
Eternity nodded. "I’ll get you some tea, then."
As Eternity headed to the kitchen-dining room to make tea, Edelweiss continued.
"Yes, thankfully, the police in this country are quite efficient. It also helped that every building has a CCTV camera, so the perpetrators were immediately caught."
"That’s great news," Evan remarked. "Though, you didn’t need to come to my home just so you could pay me back..."
"I’d rather not wait for tomorrow if I could pay you back now," Edelweiss replied knowingly.
"Such wise words," Evan muttered, though it might’ve sounded teasing to Edelweiss’s ears.
"I wouldn’t be a CEO of a top company if I didn’t know how to pay my debts, would I?" She teased back.
"You could’ve paid me through e-wallet instead of visiting me here." Evan pointed out. "You could’ve asked Freiheit for it."
"I did ask Freiheit," Edelweiss answered, surprising him greatly. "But he told me that you would’ve preferred it if I went to your place directly—Yes, I got your home address from him, in case you’re wondering."
Evan gritted his teeth, clenching his fist on his sides. ’What is that bastard playing at?
"Which reminds me," Edelweiss continued, changing the topic. "I didn’t expect you to have an actual girlfriend."
"What does that even mean?" He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Well, I told you before, didn’t I?" Edelweiss chuckled. "Freiheit always told me you never got over me when we were teenagers. But seeing your little girlfriend here, I think he was right."
