Chapter 77: Looking for the Doll’s Tutor

The sound of typing on a keyboard echoed inside the CEO’s office in the Royal Blue Alcohol and Beverage headquarters.

There, sitting on his rotatable office chair, was Evanescence ’Evan’ Holz. His back was hunched as he typed on his laptop, doing some paperwork while glancing at a document on his table from time to time that served as a brief rest from his screen time.

After a significant amount of time passed, Evan shut down the laptop and closed it. He took the coffee mug on his table and took a sip, only to realize that it was completely empty.

Evan sighed before looking at the wall clock.

"16:21," the clock indicated.

"Less than an hour left..." Evan muttered under his breath as he pressed his expensive black Oxford shoes on the floor before pushing himself, sending him and his office chair backward.

Once he was significantly away from his table, Evan began spinning his office chair around.

"Whee~!" Evan cheered childishly, only to stop his chair when he realized that someone was at the door, watching him and his weird, out-of-character shenanigans. "What the fuck?!"

"Shouldn’t I be the one saying that?" Freiheit laughed as he sashayed into the room. "I knew we used to play that game as kids but I can’t believe you still do that..."

"Shut up," Evan muttered, his cheeks evidently red at being caught red-handed.

But thank the heavens, it was Freiheit who caught him! It would be absolutely mortifying if it were somebody else!

Freiheit placed a thick folder on Evan’s table, stopping Evan in his train of thoughts of humiliation. He raised an eyebrow.

"What is this?"

"The file you asked for," Freiheit said. "You know, the list of applicants for Eternity’s tutors."

Evan took the folder and flipped it open, then began scanning through the pages.

The file contained application letters from all sorts of overachievers. He couldn’t help but notice the glaring pattern.

"They’re Bachelor’s in Education students from top universities across the country," Evan commented, checking each application carefully. "That’s some connections you got there."

Freiheit bowed mockingly, as if pretending to be a performer in a theater play.

"Of course," he boasted. "I made sure that Eternity would only receive the best of the best."

"Have you also checked the other qualities and qualifications I’ve mentioned?" Evan queried as he continued reading.

"I did." Freiheit nodded in confirmation. "As you surprisingly specified, I filtered them and made sure all applicants were females."

He nodded approvingly, flipping through a page. "I don’t want a male tutor because they might end up liking Eternity so much to the point of falling in love with her."

Freiheit raised an eyebrow. "You sound so sure of it."

"Oh, I am sure of it," Evan replied arrogantly. "She has that effect on people, after all."

"I would be lying if I disagreed on that," Freiheit confessed. "Her beauty mesmerized even me."

Evan didn’t say anything about what he said and continued scanning through the thick document.

"You know, brother," Freiheit started, slightly annoying Evan because he was ruining his concentration. "Sometimes, I wonder what other hidden functions an Eternity Woman has."

Evan looked up from the file and wrinkled his forehead at him.

"I mean," Freiheit said, adjusting his collar uncomfortably as he went on. "Aside from her being literally a living sex doll and how she gains information from her surroundings through touching, there must be something else."

"Like?" Evan probed, his curiosity peaked now.

"That’s what I’ve been meaning to know!" Freiheit exclaimed. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Well, I don’t know the answer to that," Evan huffed, returning his gaze to the papers, seeing that there was nothing to be curious about in the first place. "It’s not like she came with a product instructions pamphlet."

"Ha-bloody-ha," Freiheit snarked. "Was that supposed to be a joke?"

Evan merely exhaled loudly through his nose in reply. It was his own version of a concealed laugh.

"But seriously," Freiheit pressed on, suspiciously adamant on keeping the topic about Eternity Women. "There must be some function you might’ve missed—"

"If I did, I’ll tell you immediately," he said to appease his brother and also to get Freiheit to shut up.

It worked, apparently. Freiheit let out a defeated sigh and propped his arm against his chest.

But only for a moment.

"I’ll be visiting Manika soon." He announced.

"Oh?" Evan exclaimed, not bothering to look up from his paper anymore. "Planning to get your own Eternity Woman?"

Surprisingly, through Evan’s peripheral vision, he saw Freiheit shake his head.

"I want to know more about them, that’s all."

Evan hummed and didn’t say anything again. He wasn’t sure how to respond, nor did he care about Freiheit’s sudden interest in Eternity’s kind.

"Well, good luck," he said nonchalantly, finally returning the folder to the table. "I hope you find what you’re trying to find."

Freiheit rolled his eyes, knowing that Evan didn’t really mean what he said.

"Anyway," Evan said, returning back to the topic. "This is quite a list you got here."

"If you find that a lot, you should’ve seen the pile of application letters before the Royall’s human resources team weeded out the candidates." Freiheit laughed.

"Oh," Evan exclaimed. "So you used our father’s people to get this?"

Freiheit looked at him in puzzlement.

"How else do you think I could manage this feat?"

Evan exhaled loudly. He accidentally gave Freiheit too much credit when it should’ve been given to somebody else instead.

"Anyway," Freiheit said. "I’ve been meaning to ask, what kind of subjects do you want Eternity to study?"

"Everything that would prepare her for the outside world."

"Okay...?" Freiheit furrowed his eyebrows. "That’s a broad answer, but I’ll do what I can."

"I know you said you could help me with getting the applicants for Eternity’s tutors," Evan remarked. "But I’m genuinely curious why you’re the one presenting all these to me instead of, I don’t know, asking somebody else to do this for you?"

Freiheit shrugged.

"Because I’m bored."

Evan rolled his eyes, half-expecting such an answer from him.

"Oh," Freiheit exclaimed abruptly. "In case you’re wondering, I do have one specific suggestion for a tutor. Although she specializes in literature..."

"It’s fine," Evan said dismissively. "Eternity loves books, so I think having a formal tutor on that subject would make her happy."

Freiheit smiled excitedly as he took the folder from Evan’s table. He flipped through it until he landed on a specific applicant’s form.

"Here!" He showed the file to Evan, pointing at the applicant’s name.

Evan squinted as he read the name.

Wilde.

Olivia Wilde.
