The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 87: The Doll’s Traumatic Yesterday Will Not Ruin Her Today
Eternity’s eyelashes fluttered open. The sunlight streaming in through the window roused her from her sleep.
She didn’t typically ’wake up’ from her rest mode by small things like the brightness of the sunlight beaming down on her face, but maybe because she was slowly turning and resembling a real human, that was why she did.
Well, at least, she hoped it did.
She was about to sit up from the bed when she noticed the extra-strong scent of menthol in a shampoo typically labeled for men, as if shampoos should have gender labels, even though they have the same purpose regardless of gender, filling her senses.
It occurred to her a moment later that there was a slight pressure on her chest, and she glanced down to see a head with brown hair resting there.
Eternity couldn’t help but smile, running her fingers delicately on the strands of his hair that were usually neatly slicked to the side with hair pomade, but now it was like any regular person’s messy bed hair.
She glanced at her nightstand and saw the digital clock indicating it was now 7:44 AM and that today was a Saturday.
And then yesterday’s events flooded her mind.
Her body grew rigid, and her hand unconsciously balled into a fist, pulling Evan’s hair. He stirred in his sleep, possibly due to the pain Eternity induced on his scalp.
"Sorry," Eternity muttered, soothingly massaging Evan’s scalp with her fingers.
But the damage had been done, and she saw Evan slowly opening his eyelids, revealing his icy-blue eyes that were still hazy from sleepiness.
"Eterni--" Evan didn’t even finish calling out her name as he yawned.
Eternity yawned back, causing Evan to laugh.
"Good morning," Evan said, peering up at her.
"Good morning, Evan," Eternity greeted back, kissing the top of his head.

The smell of fried bacon and eggs wafted across the kitchen-dining room. Evan sat on his dining chair, reading the morning news on his tablet, while Eternity cooked him breakfast.
"So, what’s your plan for today?" Eternity asked as she transferred two strips of bacon from the pan to a plate.
"I was planning to spend the day with you." Evan replied, sipping on his mug of coffee.
Of course, with its regular five cubes of sugar.
"Oh?" Eternity exclaimed as she brought the plate to the dining table, where Evan was waiting. "Breakfast is ready!"
"That smells amazing," Evan said with a smile, setting aside his tablet and focusing his attention on the breakfast Eternity had prepared. "Thank you, Eternity."
"You’re welcome," Eternity replied, taking a seat across from Evan at the table.
As usual, Eternity just watched Evan as he began to dig in.
It took Evan a while before he got over the uncomfortable feeling of eating alone with someone watching him as he ate instead of joining him to eat. But well, since Eternity didn’t need to eat, he had no choice but to get used to it.
"I was thinking we could go for a walk in the park later," Evan suggested, taking a bite of his bacon. It was rather crispy and cooked exactly as he liked it. "It is a lovely day outside, and I figured we might enjoy some quality time together in the fresh air."
The thought of spending time with Evan made Eternity’s eyes, which are already a mesmerizing shade of emerald green, glitter even more brilliantly. The corners of her eyes crinkled with delight, and a faint blush tinged her cheeks, adding a rosy hue to her complexion.
"That sounds wonderful, Evan! I’ve never been to a park before—well, except the amusement park, that is." She added it shyly as an afterthought.
"That’s different," Evan chuckled. "We’re going to a nature park."
"I know that!" Eternity pouted. "I’m not 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 clueless about the outside world!"
"I know you aren’t!" Evan said. "I was just teasing you."
But Eternity wasn’t having any of it.
"Jeez, Evan!" Still, she continued pouting.
But after a few seconds, her pout turned into a begrudging smile and later morphed into full-blown laughter.
Evan couldn’t help but feel the edges of his lips form a slight curve. He couldn’t help but be swept away by Eternity’s charms because she was so adorable.
Among other things, of course. Like her skills in bed.
That was why it pained him so much to see her act so differently yesterday after her harassment encounter with other men yesterday. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that. She was too pure and too beautiful for this world to be treated with such disrespect.
Eternity must’ve noticed his expression because her laughter died down and her expression turned into worry.
"Did you not like the food?" she inquired concernedly.
Evan shook his head. "I love your cooking! I always do, and today is great just like any other day."
Eternity raised an eyebrow.
"Why are you showering me with flowery words? There’s something else, isn’t there?"
Evan felt a sweat drop on the side of his face. "Am I that easy to read?"
"No, you’re not." Eternity assured, chuckling. "I just know when you’re acting weird, that’s all."
Evan’s expression turned serious as he began.
"About yesterday..."
Eternity froze, and she winced as if the mere memory of it caused her physical pain. But Evan needed to tell her this, so he continued.
"I know you got a bit of a shock about what happened yesterday. But I want you to know that when we go out later, and whenever you go out with me, for that matter, I will assure you that it will happen again."
But instead of reassuring Eternity, it seemed to have had the opposite effect on her.
"Are you saying that it won’t happen to me because I have you, a man, around to ’protect’ me from another man?" Eternity demanded. "Do men only respect women when there’s another man in their presence?"
Evan let out an exasperated groan.
"I’m not the enemy here, Eternity." He reminded her. "Why are you getting angry at me?"
"I know you aren’t!" Eternity spoke a bit louder than anticipated, so she lowered her voice. "I know you aren’t, but it’s frustrating to feel like I have to depend on someone else just to feel safe in public. I shouldn’t have to worry about being harassed or mistreated just because I’m a woman."
Evan frowned, reaching out to gently hold her hand across the table.
"Eternity, I am sorry, but I did not intend any harm, certainly not in the way you perceive it." He said this, squeezing her hand. "I know you’re perfectly capable of taking care of yourself, and you shouldn’t have to rely on anyone else for your safety.
"Hell, I know you could knock those catcallers with one punch like you did with me if the law gave you the leeway to defend yourself!" Evan joked.
Eternity’s face softened a bit, and she cracked up a smile. He smiled back at her, feeling slightly relieved that her mood had noticeably lightened up.
"I might not be able to erase from your mind what happened yesterday, but I can make sure that you’ll enjoy today."
