The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 93: The Owner and the Doll’s Names are Antonyms
As the night deepened, Eternity poured another serving of wine into Evan’s glass, the red-purplish liquid dripping straight from the bottle.
Evan nodded appreciatively, his movements sluggish and his demeanor relaxed, and a droopy smile played on his lips. His cheeks were flushed with a rosy hue, and his eyes, half-lidded and hazy from intoxication, reflected the soft glow of the moonlight shining through the window.
"For someone who’s the CEO of an alcoholic beverage company," Eternity chuckled, her own cheeks tinged with a delicate blush as if she, too, had indulged in one too many glasses of wine. "You’re not handling your alcohol well."
Evan crossed his arms and furrowed his brow, his expression resembling that of a petulant child.
"Wine has more alcohol content than beer, you know!" he argued, his words slurring slightly as he struggled to maintain his composure.
Despite the late hour, the two remained in the living room, perched upon the window sill, as they watched the moon and the twinkling stars, talking about anything and everything under the sun.
"Oh!" Eternity exclaimed suddenly, her eyes alight with excitement as she leaned in closer to Evan. Sensing that she had a story to tell, Evan gestured for her to continue, and she obliged with a playful grin. "In foreign language class, I learned French!"
"How was it?" Evan asked, taking a sip from his glass.
"Aside from the French, I learned it by touching the textbooks," Eternity explained, her fingers tapping lightly against the glass pane. "Miss Poliglota also taught me some unique and uncommon French words that don’t have any direct translation to other languages."
"Can you give me an example?" Evan asked, his curiosity piqued.
Eternity’s face lit up with delight, her eyes sparkling as she said the words.
"Je ne sais quoi!" she exclaimed, her pronunciation perfect as she effortlessly rolled the French words off her tongue.
One would mistake her for being a native French speaker based on how well she said it.
"I don’t know what that means..." Evan admitted, scratching his chin.
Eternity giggled as if he said something hilarious. Evan raised an eyebrow in response to her amusement, silently urging her to explain.
"It literally means ’I don’t know what.’" She explained. "Anyway, the reason why I’m telling you this is because I fell in love with the language!"
"And?" He prodded; her enthusiasm was getting into him.
"During my music class," Eternity continued, her eyes glinting with excitement. "I felt inspired to explore French music! So, I searched the internet for a good song."
"Did you find anything?" Evan inquired, leaning in closer as he awaited her response.
Eternity nodded enthusiastically.
"I stumbled upon this particular song that spoke to me, and it reminded me of you," she shared, a warm smile gracing her lips as she met Evan’s gaze. "Its title is ’La Javanaise.’"
"La Javanaise," Evan repeated, enunciating each syllable as it rolled off his tongue. "I don’t know why, but it sounds really familiar..."
Eternity nodded, her smile widening as she elaborated. "The lyrics reflect the transient nature of love, much like the meaning behind your name, ’Evanescence’."
Evan hummed thoughtfully as he contemplated and finally processed her words.
"That’s quite fitting, isn’t it?" He murmured with a sense of wonder.
Eternity’s gaze softened as she watched his features cast a shadow under the moonlight.
"Don’t you think it’s funny how your name is literally the opposite of mine?" she remarked, a hint of playfulness in her tone.
Evan’s eyes widened in realization, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.
"Is it?" he mused, the corners of his mouth twitching. "I never thought of that before."
"And you literally named me!" She pointed it out, a hearty giggle escaping from her lips. "At first I thought it was intentional, but seeing your reaction now, I realized it was just pure coincidence!"
Evan turned even redder, and Eternity guessed it wasn’t because of the alcohol but because of the embarrassment.
"Anyway," Evan said, changing the subject to avoid drawing attention to himself any further. "Could you sing the song for me?"
In response to Evan’s request, Eternity’s cheeks became a subtle shade of pink, and she nodded enthusiastically.
"Of course!" she replied, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. "But don’t expect too much, okay?"
With a gentle smile, she took a moment to compose herself before clearing her throat extra loudly as if to draw Evan’s attention to her.
He rolled his eyes at her antics because they both knew she’d always had his attention, yet a smile was forming on his lips as he watched her.
Seeing that Evan was ready to listen, Eternity began.
"J’avoue j’en ai bavé pas vous, Mon amour."
Upon hearing the first line, Evan froze.
His eyes widened, and he felt his chest start to tighten. He started perspiring with a cold sweat, and it wasn’t because of the alcohol.
His heart started thumping loudly in his chest, as if he were having a heart attack. Desperate for relief, Evan gasped for air, his breaths coming in short, ragged bursts.
His body trembled uncontrollably, and he could feel the panic rising within him like he was caught in some sort of quick sand—the more he struggled, the faster he sank.
"Evan?" By this time, Eternity had stopped singing and had noticed that he was having a panic attack.
Yet, the song continued.
Another voice began singing in his head, distinctively not Eternity’s, but singing the same song nonetheless.
Evan’s mind was transported back to a time long buried in his past, triggering a flood of memories—memories he had fought hard to suppress.
In an instant, he was no longer sitting in his living room with Eternity by his side. Instead, Evan found himself in the living room of a dirty, ugly living room from his childhood with another woman, a woman with long brown hair and icy blue eyes, her fingers delicately running down Evan’s hair that was the same shade as hers.
"Dolores..." Evan whispered, his voice quivering, and before he even noticed it, tears started flowing down his cheeks.
"Evan?" Eternity called out again, her voice oozing with worry.
But it was too late.
Evan was going into a downward spiral.
As if straining for air, Evan’s chest heaved with each strained breath as tears streamed freely down his face before Eternity could ever comprehend what was happening.
Eternity’s eyes widened with concern as she watched Evan’s descent into darkness before her. She could see the chaos written all over his face—the pain that seemed to have taken hold of him like a vice grip.
"Evan, please," Eternity pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. "You’re scaring me."
Then, as abruptly as it had started, the panic attack started to go away, and Evan felt a heavy burden lifted from his chest and a renewed ability to breathe. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
He blinked back the tears, his vision clearing as he slowly returned to the present. There, he saw Eternity watching him with eyes full of concern.
"Evan?" Her voice was gentle, pulling him back to reality.
She reached out, her hands cupping his cheeks with a tenderness that brought tears to his eyes once more.
"Are you alright?"
Evan nodded, wiping away his tears with the back of his hand. His throat was tight and dry, and it took a couple of tries before he managed to make a sound.
"I’m sorry," he whispered, his voice strained and grating.
But Eternity merely hushed him, pulling him into a tight embrace.
"It’s alright." Eternity assured him, cradling Evan in her arms as if he were a baby. He felt a sense of peace that he hadn’t experienced in a long time, replacing the weight of his burden with each breath. "Don’t apologize."

From the kitchen, Eternity returned to the living room with a glass of water in hand. She approached Evan, passing him the glass, and with a nod of gratitude, Evan accepted it with trembling hands.
"I think you deserve an explanation." Evan said, his voice still weak. "I must’ve made you worry, Eternity. I’m so sorry."
But before he could continue, Eternity leaned in, her expression tender yet determined as she placed a finger against his lips, silencing him.
"It’s alright, Evan." She assured him with a soothing voice. "You don’t need to force yourself.’
"But I need to," he insisted, his voice gaining strength as he spoke. "You told me that I’ve grown significantly as a person. But I think you deserve to know why I was like that before I met you."
Eternity looked at him with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
"I would be lying if I said I wasn’t curious." She admitted it, and her voice was soft but with a hint of unease. "After all, our surroundings are what mold us into who we are."
With Eternity’s gentle encouragement, Evan took a deep breath, prepare himself to share his personal story that no one had ever heard before.
